The stars of 'Grease' then gave the crowd a 'A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop, a-wop-bam-boom' from the song 'We Go Together' before Travolta concluded: 'Enjoy the show. ‘Pulp Fiction' Returns To No. 1 Decades After Its Release
The Pulp Fiction soundtrack rockets back to No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Soundtrack Albums chart, ... More marking just its second time at the top in 1,166 weeks. Director Quentin Tarantino standing by a poster for his film 'Pulp Fiction', London, United Kingdom, 1994. (Photo by) The world is waiting for Quentin Tarantino to make his tenth — and according to him, final — movie. There's no timeline yet for such a project, and the celebrated director and screenwriter has other efforts in the works. As fans of the cinephile await what's coming next from the two-time Oscar winner, one of his greatest successes in the music world becomes a smash hit once again. The Pulp Fiction Soundtrack Hits No. 1 Again The Pulp Fiction soundtrack is a bestseller once more in the United Kingdom this week. The decades-old release rockets from No. 21 to No. 1 on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart. Pulp Fiction has now spent 1,166 weeks on the Official Soundtrack Albums chart, making it one of the most successful releases connected to a film of all time in the country. Somehow, throughout all that time, only two of those frames have been at No. 1. The project originally reached the summit in December 2021, after dozens of stays inside the top 10. Now, it returns to the peak position for just the second time ever. Pulp Fiction Returns as it Rises The same soundtrack also rebounds onto one other tally in the U.K. Pulp Fiction returns at No. 57 on the Official Compilations chart. Unlike on the soundtrack-only ranking, however, Pulp Fiction has not reached No. 1 on the compilations list. Instead, it has thus far peaked at No. 5 and has spent 126 weeks on the tally. The Legacy of the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack Tarantino is not credited as an artist on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, but he was the album's producer, as he likes to have a hand in every aspect of his movies. The project was hugely successful and influential, as it helped reinvigorate interest in old-school American rock, surf music, and other genres. Throughout the years, the soundtrack has been certified triple platinum in the U.K. for moving almost one million units. Kill Bill: Volume 1 Joins Pulp Fiction At the same time that Pulp Fiction becomes a chart-topper again, another Tarantino project can be found on the same ranking. Kill Bill: Volume 1, another hugely popular musical release tied to a hit movie of his, returns to the Official Soundtrack Albums list at No. 33.

‘I'm as hip-hop as anyone in the country': Delhi rapper Shauharty
"For me, Saddam Hussein has always represented the pure-unchecked male ego and narcissism," says shauharty. ''Saddam Hussainé' is just a creative lens, not a political statement,' he says, adding that satire runs deep in the production. 'The whole Saddam hiding spot meme is big in pop culture—we wanted to weave that in.' Shot in the scorching deserts of Jaisalmer, the short film draws from classic Westerns like Sergio Leone's The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Tarantino's Django Unchained and Pulp Fiction. 'Zaid (the director) and I wanted to make a gritty, satirical Western film,' says shauharty. 'We tried to blend Indian cultural elements into a visual language shaped by Hollywood.' Saddam Hussein, carries a mysterious briefcase—an homage to Pulp Fiction's iconic glowing briefcase. Says shauharty: 'I couldn't think of anyone else but Saddam Hussein to carry it—it's as if he had a brief to be egoistic.' For the rapper, ego is an obstacle. 'If you're too egoistic to show who you are, you're limiting your potential and creating a false image,' he says. 'Letting go of ego was necessary to talk about subjects like identity, sexuality, and acceptance—topics that I'm covering throughout the forthcoming mixtape. I avoided them for a long time. Now, I'm finally ready to let that go.'

‘Stealing Pulp Fiction' Review: A Lowbrow Homage
Quentin Tarantino's first two films, 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Pulp Fiction,' had a galvanic effect not just on American independent film but movies the world over. From 1995 on, you couldn't go to a film festival without tripping over several 'Dogs' or 'Pulp' impersonations, none of them a patch on the real thing. To be fair, one or two of the perpetrators of such items, Joe Carnahan to name a noteworthy example, grew into makers of more distinctive and enjoyable work. But the counterfeiters were, and mostly remained, a drag. 'Stealing Pulp Fiction' is an overt Tarantino homage. Written and directed by Danny Turkiewicz, it concerns a few Tarantino-obsessed cinephiles who believe they can make a fortune by kidnapping the director's personal print of his film and holding it for ransom. A witless duo, played by Jon Rudnitsky and Karan Soni, enlist a snarky female pal who objects to Tarantino on misogyny and thievery grounds; they also reel in the therapist of Rudnitsky's character. These two are played by Cazzie David and Jason Alexander, but their high-octane comedic talents elevate the proceedings not a whit. Said proceedings eventually involve Tarantino himself, played by a gentleman named Seager Tennis, who, to paraphrase James Thurber, looks as much like Quentin Tarantino as Calvin Coolidge does the MGM lion. Turkiewicz apes Tarantino's great film by giving chapter titles to its sections and setting multiple scenes in a diner. These sequences don't resemble 'Pulp Fiction' so much as they do television ads for Chili's — a locale where you'll have a better time than watching this utterly misbegotten movie. Stealing Pulp FictionNot rated. Running time: 1 hour 18 minutes. In theaters.

'Stealing Pulp Fiction' Review - A Quirky Love Note To Tarantino And His Celebrated Film
In many ways, there is pre-Pulp Fiction cinema and then post-Pulp Fiction cinema. The use of non-linear storytelling, punchy dialogue, and soundtrack, all under the umbrella of independent cinema, changed the game. Inspirational across genres and imitated to the point of parody, Pulp Fiction earned its place in movie history and serves as a turning point for creative and bold storytelling that would define the 1990s and beyond. Enter the film Stealing Pulp Fiction, which goes beyond spoofing the quintessential Tarantino film and offers both praise for the classic movie and a unique yarn in its own right. 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the self.' Two buddies and film aficionados, Jonathan (Jon Rudnitsky) and Steve (Karan Soni), aspire to craft a get-rich-quick scheme. Thanks to their love of film, they take inspiration for a grand heist after watching Pulp Fiction at Quentin Tarantino's own theater. They will steal Pulp Fiction, but not just a print — a 35mm belonging personally to Tarantino. What begins as a simple heist becomes a comedy of errors. Joining Jonathan and Steven is Elizabeth (Cazzie David), and their eccentric therapist (Jason Alexander) on this colorful adventure that becomes a cheeky embrace of Tarantino's film. Director/writer Danny Turkiewicz pulls no punches from the start of this film. Turkiewicz shows us his love for the film and Tarantino's work, from the diner locale to the witty banter between Jonathan and Steve. Fans of Tarantino will marvel at this romp. There are nods and references, but never in a forced way. It would have been easy to make the characters copy-and-paste rip-off versions of the movie characters. Still, the effort to make us, the audience, care about this quirky pack adds a whole level of royál with cheese. The characters are comfortable with themselves. Jonathan is the schemer who secretly pines for Rachel (Taylor Hill), a patient in his therapist's office. Steve is the cautious planner and a hopeless romantic, and Elizabeth is the voice of reason. Her presence is for the detractors of Tarantino, which I found to be a nice touch. Interestingly enough, a subtle channeling of Mia Wallace in her character makes this entire exercise hilarious and a meta-commentary. Even Tarantino (not the real deal) appears in the film to pursue the guys after they make good on their deal to steal the 35mm print. It is far from a fully realized impression or imitation, but it embellishes the story with a bounce that cannot help but leave you smiling. Ultimately, the film becomes a charming send-up of Pulp Fiction. Stealing Pulp Fiction prides itself on, yes, being a love note to the famous director, but by using a lot of his rhythm and style to tell its own story. The use of Chapters, a common motif in a Tarantino film, is here in this one. Along with cross-cutting chummy banter, this movie has a tremendous energy that one cannot help but vibe with. Some may be disappointed in the lack of a full embrace of Tarantino's style, which is why this is better referred to as a love note than a love letter. The short runtime fails to give the movie adequate weight. Fortunately, the characters are interesting in their own right, leaving us wanting more than what we received. That is especially true of Jason Alexander, who adds his comedic timing to the quasi-world of Tarantino to significant effect. The movie hinders itself by not going full Tarantino. There is no stylized and expletive-filled violence or wholly memorable morally grey characters, but still, Stealing Pulp Fiction gives us a pleasant trip through LA. However, it may not be enough to break our full concentration on forgetting the real deal. Stealing Pulp Fiction will debut in select theaters and on digital platforms on June 27, 2025, courtesy of Tribeca Films.
