
Vatel Bahrain showcases premier international hotel management education at Alumni Club Expo in Dammam
The event welcomed the participation of a wide array of universities, colleges, institutes, and educational and training academies from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and across the Gulf region.
Vatel Bahrain's participation at the expo attracted substantial attention from prospective students and visitors, who engaged directly with the college's representatives to gain insight into its distinctive academic offerings. The spotlight was on its flagship bachelor's programme in International Hotel Management, which integrates rigorous academic instruction with immersive, real-world training. This comprehensive curriculum is purposefully structured to develop advanced competencies across the hospitality, tourism, and hotel management sectors—equipping graduates with the skills, versatility, and global perspective required to thrive in today's competitive international hospitality landscape.
Commenting on the participation, Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, underscored the college's commitment to participating in educational exhibitions to introducing prospective students to its programmes, and noted that such engagements are pivotal in raising awareness of Vatel Bahrain's role in enhancing academic and professional opportunities within the hospitality industry.
Sheikh Khaled commented, 'We are particularly eager to participate in exhibitions held in Saudi Arabia, as Vatel Bahrain is among the institutions officially recommended for Saudi students pursuing studies abroad. Our participation in the Expo underscores Vatel Bahrain's ongoing commitment to advancing regional academic collaboration and broadening access to quality education across the Gulf.'
Sheikh Khaled further emphasised that the expo served as a valuable platform for engaging directly with prospective students expressing interest in Vatel Bahrain's International Hotel Management programme. 'Our objective is to support students by addressing their queries, providing tailored academic guidance, and highlighting the unique advantages of pursuing higher education within an internationally recognised and forward-looking academic environment,' Sheikh Khaled stated. Stc Group achieved a net profit of one million riyals, a 13.38% increase for the six-month period compared to the same period last year
Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - stc today announced the company's preliminary financial results for the period ending at 30 June 2025: Revenues for the 6 months period of 2025 reached 38,660 million with an increase of 2.09% as compared to the comparable period last year. Gross Profit for the 6 months period of 2025 reached 18,658 million with an increase of 6.61% as compared to the comparable period last year. Operating Profit for the 6 months period of 2025 reached 7,207 million with an increase of 2.28% as compared to the comparable period last year. Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Zakat, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) for the 6 months period of 2025 reached 12,289 million with an increase of 6.10% as compared to the comparable period last year. Net Profit for the 6 months period of 2025 reached 7,472 million with an increase of 13.38% as compared to the comparable period last year. stc distributes 0.55 per share for the 2nd quarter of 2025, in accordance with the dividends distribution policy approved by General Assembly. Commenting on the results, Eng. Olayan Alwetaid, CEO of stc Group, stated that the Group continued to deliver excellent performance through its commitment to its strategy and success in capitalizing on available opportunities within the ICT sector. He pointed out that the focus on financial discipline and improving the efficiency of capital management were key factors in supporting business stability, enhancing the Group's readiness to adapt to changes, and expanding into future growth avenues with confidence and sustainability. This was reflected in the Group's financial performance, as stc achieved revenue growth of 2.1% during the first six months of the year, and an increase in gross profit by 6.6%, compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the Cost Efficiency Program contributed effectively to enhancing operational and financial efficiency, which positively impacted the company's performance, resulting in EBITDA growth of 6.1% with an increase in EBITDA margin by 3.9% to reach 31.8%, which in turn led to a notable increase in net profit by 13.4%, reaching 7.5 billion. The GCEO also emphasized that the growing demand for the Group's services is a testament to the community's trust in the efficiency of its digital solutions. This was demonstrated by the number of STC Bank customers surpassing three million within a short period since its launch at the beginning of 2025, reflecting the accelerated growth in the adoption of digital banking services and embodying the Group's growing role in developing the financial services sector. BIBF CEO: Developing national AI talent is a cornerstone for digital-economic transformation
Manama – Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al-Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), commended the launch of the National Policy for the Use of Artificial Intelligence, announced by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), and the adoption of the GCC Guiding Manual on the Ethical Use of AI. He affirmed that this national policy represents a significant step in advancing Bahrain's vision to become a digitally empowered, innovation-driven economy. Dr. Al-Shaikh emphasised that building national capacity in artificial intelligence is a critical enabler of digital transformation. He noted that equipping Bahraini talent with AI-related skills and knowledge is essential to ensure the responsible, secure, and effective application of emerging technologies, in line with the ethical principles outlined in the GCC manual and Bahrain's national frameworks. He stated: 'The successful implementation of the AI Policy depends not only on regulation and infrastructure, but also on investing in people. At BIBF, we are committed to supporting the national AI agenda by offering academic and professional development programmes in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics - ensuring alignment with ethical standards and the future needs of the economy.' Dr. Al-Shaikh highlighted BIBF's ongoing efforts to develop specialised training programmes and workshops in collaboration with leading global partners.
