Revealed – When Inter Milan Will Start Contract Extension Talks With Davide Frattesi

Yahoo8 hours ago
Inter Milan will start contract extension talks with midfielder Davide Frattesi in September.
This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 25-year-old's wages could rise to €3.4 million net per season.
For months, it had seemed all but inevitable that Davide Frattesi would leave the club this summer.
And had Simone Inzaghi stayed on as coach, that would have been the case. There was a rift between he and Frattesi.
However, Inzaghi decided to leave Inter in search of big money at Al-Hilal. Cristian Chivu arrived to replace him on the Inter bench.

Now that Chivu is in charge, plans have changed completely for Davide Frattesi.
This about face has a lot to do with the role that the Romanian coach sees for the 25-year-old.
Frattesi never quite fit in to the midfield trio in Inzaghi's 3-5-2 system. The previous coach demanded that his midfielders be capable of just about everything on the pitch.
On the other hand, Chivu is ready to shift to using attacking midfielders. He'll aim to implement a 3-4-2-1 system with two central players behind one strikers.
And in that formation, Frattesi can shine more.
Therefore, Inter are actually now ready to offer a new contract to Frattesi. His current deal runs out at the end of June 2028.
Frattesi currently earns €2.8 million net per season. Tuttosport report that the Nerazzurri will offer increased wages of €3.4 million net per season.
Meanwhile, Inter are not going to begin the talks right away this summer, Tuttosport anticipate.
Rather, the Nerazzurri will wait until the season starts and the transfer window closes to begin talks with Frattesi's representatives.

Lakers, Luka Doncic reach agreement on three-year max contract extension

Luka Doncic will not test the free agency market. Instead, the five-time NBA All-Star has agreed to a contract extension that will tie him to the Los Angeles Lakers through 2028. Doncic and the Lakers finalized a three-year maximum contract extension. ESPN reported, citing an agent, that the deal was worth $165 million. The Lakers don't publicly announce the details of contracts. The Slovenian superstar's previous contact included a player option for the 2026-27 campaign. Doncic reacted to the new contract on social media. "I just signed my extension with the Lakers. Excited to keep working to bring championships to LA and make Laker Nation proud," the 2024 NBA scoring champion wrote on X. "Grateful to the Lakers, my teammates and all the fans who've shown so much love since day one. This is just the beginning." The Lakers acquired Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks last February in a shocking blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis. The five-time All-NBA selection averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game last season while teaming up with LeBron James for 50 victories and the third seed in the Western Conference playoffs. The Lakers were eliminated from postseason contention after dropping four games to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. Despite the early playoff exit, Doncic is set to return to Los Angeles this fall alongside James, who will begin his unprecedented 23rd NBA season. But the Doncic-James duo could also benefit from a revamped Lakers roster for the 2025-26 season. Doncic played a significant role in Los Angeles' successful bids to sign Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart, persuading the two veterans to team up for the upcoming season.
