Hakan Calhanoglu, Piotr Zielinski, Benjamin Pavard, and Yann Bisseck have all already returned to Italy. Advertisement Meanwhile, striker Mehdi Taremi remains stuck in Iran due to Israeli airstrikes. However, there are a couple pieces of good news for Inter on the fitness front. Firstly, striker Marcus Thuram will be able to return. The Frenchman had come off the bench in Inter's group stage opener against Monterrey. However, a lack of fitness was evident. Then, Thuram missed subsequent group stage matches against Urawa Red Diamonds and River Plate. This was due to a thigh problem. Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi was absent for all three group stage matches with a muscle problem of his own. However, the Gazzetta anticipate, both Thuram and Frattesi will be available against Fluminense.

Three Midfielders' Future ‘In The Balance' At Inter Milan In The Coming Weeks
Three Midfielders' Future 'In The Balance' At Inter Milan In The Coming Weeks The futures of midfielders Hakan Calhanoglu, Davide Frattesi, and Kristjan Asllani at Inter Milan are 'in the balance' this summer. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that all three could either stay or go in the coming weeks. Advertisement Inter Milan's midfield could be in for some upheaval this summer. Barring major surprises, all of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Piotr Zielinski are likely to remain at the club. Then, the Nerazzurri have also signed Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb this month. However, the rest of the midfield depth chart could look very different come the end of the summer transfer window. Calhanoglu, Frattesi & Asllani 'In The Balance' At Inter TURIN, ITALY – MAY 11: Kristjan Asllani of FC Internazionale scores his team's second goal from the penalty spot during the Serie A match between Torino and FC Internazionale at Stadio Olimpico di Torino on May 11, 2025 in Turin, Italy. (Photo by) Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been a stalwart presence for Inter Milan over the last four years. However, Galatasray have made no secret of their interest in signing the 31-year-old. Advertisement And if the Turkish champions are to make an offer, it could certainly see Inter cash in. Meanwhile, Davide Frattesi has looked to have one foot out the door for some time now. The 25-year-old had already reportedly asked Inter to leave in January. Then, after a Champions League final in which he did not even come off the bench, Frattesi had reportedly lost patience with former Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi once and for all. The departure of Inzaghi could change the situation for Frattesi. Everything may depend on whether Cristian Chivu decides to use the former Sassuolo midfielder more than his predecessor had. Advertisement If Frattesi is to depart, the likes of Roma and Napoli are reportedly targeting him. Lastly, the Corriere dello Sport note, the future of Kristjan Asllani is up in the air as ever. The Albanian has been at Inter for three years now. However, in that time he has never really established a place for himself in the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

Report – Sarri Sanctions Midfield Swap Deal Between Italian Internationals With Inter Milan
Maurizio Sarri is ready to green light Lazio moving for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, even allowing Nicolo Rovella to go the other way. This according to today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, via FCInter1908. Advertisement Coach Maurizio Sarri wants to change things up at Lazio as he prepares for his second spell on the bench at the Stadio Olimpico. According to Il Messaggero, one priority for Sarri is to add more goals from midfield. That is one area in which the Biancocelesti were certainly lacking last season. Therefore, Il Messaggero reports, Sarri has made Davide Frattesi a major target. One thing the 25-year-old does not lack for his goals from midfield. Last season Frattesi scored seven goals for Inter – even without being a regular starter by any means. Sarri Sanctions Lazio To Make Frattesi – Rovella Swap Deal MILAN, ITALY – MAY 06: Davide Frattesi of FC Internazionale celebrates. scoring his team's fourth goal during the. UEFA Champions. League 2024/25 Semi. Final Second Leg match between FC Internazionale Milano and FC Barcelona at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on May 06, 2025 in Milan, Italy. (Photo by) So much of a priority target is Frattesi for Sarri that he would even be willing to make a big sacrifice to sign the former Sassuolo midfielder. Advertisement According to Il Messaggero, the coach would be willing to lose midfielder Nicolo Rovella. And as it happens, Rovella is a major target for Inter. The Nerazzurri are preparing for the possibility of life without Hakan Calhanoglu – and Rovella is a major target to replace the Turk. Therefore, Inter would certainly be willing to listen to offers for Frattesi including Rovella. Inter are undoubtedly willing to part ways with Frattesi. The Italian international had already reportedly pushed for a transfer in January. And so if Frattesi can be used to dramatically lower the asking price for Rovella from his €50 million release clause, Inter certainly won't be opposed to the idea. The biggest obstacle to such a deal, however, could be wages. Frattesi earns €2.8 million net per season at Inter, whilst Rovella earns just €1.7 million net per season at Lazio.
