
Man dead, nephew injured after their bike collides with parked container
According to the Vikhroli police, the deceased, Bharat Jain, and his nephew, Jai Shankar Jain, were travelling towards south Mumbai when the accident took place. The police said that bikers had collided with a parked container belonging to the Ashok Leyland company.
The police rushed the duo to the Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar where Bharat was declared dead around 1:30am. Due to the severity of Jai Shankar's injuries, his relatives transferred him to the Zen Hospital in Chembur.
Investigations revealed that the container had been damaged on route, and the driver had parked it along the highway without taking the proper security measures to make the vehicle visible to other travellers. The police said, 'The driver should have left the container's lights on, but instead he parked the vehicle carelessly.'
The Vikhroli police said that they have booked the container's driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Maharashtra Man Rapes Woman Multiple Times On Pretext Of Marriage, Arrested
Thane: Police have arrested a 26-year-old man from Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district on the charge of raping a woman multiple times on the promise of marrying her, officials said on Tuesday. The accused, Ashraf Afsar Chaudhary, was planning to flee to Dubai before being arrested, they said. The arrest was made a couple of days back based on the complaint filed on July 2 by the 25-year-old woman from Kalyan, an official said on Tuesday. The victim met Chaudhary on Instagram last year. After winning her confidence, the accused promised to marry her and repeatedly subjected her to sexual assault between July 2024 and June this year at different locations, he said. The victim said in her complaint that after her first husband died of health complications, she married a man from Rajasthan. However, after Chaudhary befriended her, he forced her to divorce him. She did as he said. But despite his promise, the accused refused to marry her, the official of Kongaon police station said. After she realised that she had been cheated, the victim approached a social worker and counsellor, who took her to the police station to lodge a complaint. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 64 (rape), 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, the official said, that a probe was immediately launched. "The police acted swiftly after receiving a tip-off that Chaudhary was planning to flee to Dubai. A trap was laid in the area where he resides, and he was apprehended," senior inspector Netaram Maske said. A local court remanded him in judicial custody, he said.

‘Deeply troubled by wife &in-laws', Agra man kills self
Agra: A 25-year-old man from Agra allegedly took his life over strained ties with his wife and in-laws, police said on Tuesday. Before killing himself, Gaurav Singh recorded an emotional video accusing his wife of blackmailing him and forcing him to take the extreme step. DCP of Agra city, Sonam Kumar, said, "An FIR was registered under BNS section 108 (abetment to suicide) against eight people, including Gaurav's wife Nisha Singh, on July 7 on the complaint of his maternal cousin, Gulshan Singh. Further probe is on." In the video that was purportedly shot moments before his death on July 4, Gaurav could be heard saying, "I request the cops… I'm deeply troubled by my wife and in-laws. I'm facing a financial crisis, my wife has got involved with someone else. I request from govt that from my house and property, my wife should not get anything. False allegations levelled against me by my in-laws should be probed first, then, maybe, take any action against me. " In a complaint filed at Trans Yamuna police station in Agra, Gulshan Singh, stated that Gaurav, who used to work as a cook at wedding events, had married Nisha, 24, of Hathras in Nov last year. "Soon after their union, the relationship between my brother and his wife turned sour. She took away all the jewellery and kept it with her parents. She and her parents forced Gaurav to take this extreme step," Gulshan added.

"In the initial probe, it has come to light that the activities of the accused Jalaluddin are not only against society but also against the nation," Adityanath said. Asserting that there will be no leniency in matters related to law and order in the state, the chief minister stated, "The properties of the accused and other criminals linked to his gang will be seized, and strict legal action will be taken against them." On Saturday, the UP Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested Chhangur Baba, along with his aide. Chhangur Baba and co-accused Neetu alias Nasreen are residents of Madhpur in Balrampur district. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Chhangur Baba, while the police had declared a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest. "The poor, helpless labourers, weaker sections, and widowed women were lured with incentives, financial aid, promises of marriage, or forced through intimidation, in violation of established procedures for religious conversion by the accused," the police statement said. Earlier, two other accused -- Naveen alias Jamaluddin and Mehboob, who is Jalaluddin's son -- were arrested on April 8. Both hail from Balrampur and are currently lodged in the Lucknow District Jail. On Tuesday, the district administration and police conducted demolition action in Balrampur against the illegal properties of Chhangur Baba and his gang members.
