Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan has confessed that he often questioned whether he was going to "die" during last year's sold-out show, Legends of the Dance Floor tour.
Joined by fellow former BBC professionals Ian Waite, Pasha Kovalev, Brendan Cole, and Vincent Simone, the group dazzled audiences across the UK with their high-energy routines and entertaining behind-the-scenes stories.
However, after being away from live performances for a while, James, who is married to ex-Strictly star Ola, found the intense demands of the tour especially challenging, particularly during a fast jive routine, when he genuinely feared he might not make it through in front of packed crowds.
He told The Sun: "Every night I did that jive I thought 'is tonight the night that I'm going to die?'" Laughing, he added: "Pasha, you're the one every night that used to say 'if he dies he dies.'"

Thankfully, 46-year-old James is still going strong and gearing up for another theatre tour this September with The Return of the Legends.
When the five dancers hit the road for last year's tour, they received high praise from Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas and this time, the whole team is throwing themselves into preparation.
In addition to this, James and fellow dancer Ian Waite just got back from an intense fitness retreat overseas, joined by other former athletes, including Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington.

Despite being the oldest of the group, 54-year-old Ian proudly showed off an impressive eight-pack. While James might not be quite as ripped, he's proven his dedication by shedding weight and pushing through several health challenges, including shoulder surgery and hernia repairs that required reconstruction of his inguinal canal.
Getting back on tour has reignited his drive, and he's committed to being in peak shape for the upcoming shows.

James said: "Ian is just an anomaly, he's a freak of nature. I've just been for a week with him on holiday actually a fitness week; he's 54 years old and he's as fit as anyone 20 years younger than him.
"I'm trying to keep up but unfortunately, genetically, don't have the same joints and bones that Ian does. I've had shoulder surgery, I need shoulder surgery on this one, I've just had a hernia operation where they had to totally reconstruct my inguinal canal.
"I've got bad knees, I suffer with my back, I've got tennis elbow. However, I'm one of these people, as Ian knows, I've got to get over myself and try and get through it, and this year will be no different," he confessed.
The Return of the Legends will be on tour from September.

Update on access to BBC Sounds outside the UK

Earlier this year, BBC Studios launched a new audio service outside the UK on and the BBC app. This includes access to BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service English, thousands of hours of podcasts (including Global News Podcast, World of Secrets and Infinite Monkey Cage) – as well as some of the best of the BBC's journalism and storytelling including news and history programming. As part of the announcement, we said we planned to close BBC Sounds to audiences living outside the UK later this year, making it available exclusively to people in the UK. Anyone who lives in the UK will still be able to use the BBC Sounds app when they go on holiday abroad for around a month. We can now confirm that BBC Sounds will close for listeners based outside the UK on 21 July, 2025. Throughout, we have recognised the importance of the ongoing availability all of the BBC's radio stations to listeners outside the UK. Today, we've added a new directory on that gives audiences access to all the BBC's radio stations from across the UK. This includes the BBC's music stations - BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, and Radio 3, 6Music, 1Xtra and Asian Network, Radio 4Xtra and 5Live, all the BBC's stations from the UK nations and every local radio station in England. These links will provide listeners with continued access to live listening. BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service English are available on already and will continue to be. There will also be a range of BBC podcasts in English, Welsh and Gaelic to listen to on-demand. Listening to BBC audio programming on non-BBC platforms will not be affected by this change. Lisa Nandy ‘not satisfied' with BBC's Bob Vylan response

The Culture Secretary has said she is not satisfied with the BBC's response to the Bob Vylan furore and has demanded 'accountability at the highest levels'. Lisa Nandy told MPs that the corporation's leadership failed to provide her with answers as to how the rap duo's Glastonbury performance was broadcast unedited. She criticised the broadcaster for failing to carry out due diligence on the band after a new video emerged of its frontman, Bobby Vylan, saying 'death to every single IDF soldier out there as an agent of terror for Israel' at a gig in London last month. The Telegraph disclosed on Monday that Tim Davie, the BBC's director-general, was present at the festival. He learnt about Bob Vylan's 'death, death to the IDF' chants and rant about a 'Zionist' record company boss shortly after they were made but did not ask for the livestream to be taken down. Addressing the House of Commons, Ms Nandy said: 'I'm not satisfied with the response I've had. 'I'm not satisfied with that and I have gone back to the BBC leadership to ask for further information – in particular about the failure to pull the live feed, about the due diligence that was done prior to deciding to screen this act and also about the level of senior oversight that took place in the BBC during the Glastonbury weekend. 'I think the BBC leadership will hear and have heard the strength of feeling in this House about this, and I expect further answers to be forthcoming imminently.' Ms Nandy added that there is 'a very important distinction between independence and accountability.' She went on to say: 'Given the seriousness of what happened and in particular the absolutely shocking stories of the impact this has had on the Jewish community in this country – given the seriousness of this – I would expect there to be accountability at the highest levels.' Stuart Andrew, the shadow culture secretary, accused the BBC of failing to supply 'even basic facts' about what went wrong. He said: 'There were hundreds of BBC staff there and not being able to identify who ultimately had the final decision on whether to broadcast or not is not acceptable. 'I think the chairman needs to inform [Ms Nandy] as a matter of urgency who that was and what action they are going to take.'

Wynne Evans sparks fears he's split from new fiancée Liz Brookes after unfollowing her and deleting engagement Instagram post

Wynne Evans has sparked fears he's split from his new fiancée after deleting his engagement post from Instagram and unfollowing her. MailOnline can also reveal Liz Brookes no longer follows the former Strictly star, who only proposed to the events company boss last month. The Welsh opera singer, 53, got down on one knee during a romantic trip to Morocco and documented the gesture on Instagram, posting snaps of him proposing and a close-up of Liz's engagement ring. He wrote: 'Big news… I got engaged! 'This weekend in Morocco, somewhere between the couscous, the camels, and me limping around the souks like a man with no spatial awareness, I proposed to Liz — and she said yes! (No take-backs, I've checked.) 'She's clever, she's kind, she's got excellent taste in men. 'Absolutely no idea how I pulled that off, but here we are! Feeling very lucky, very happy, and just a tiny bit smug.' However; the picture has now mysteriously disappeared from his account, as have any precious mentions of his fiancée. Mailonline has approached Wynne's reps for comment. The couple met in 2024 shortly before his stint on the BBC1 dancing show. Liz was often sat in the audience for the live shows and shared a sweet snap with him after one performance - saying she was 'proud' of him. Wynne credited Liz for helping him lose weight before he competed on the series. Speaking on a podcast last year, the father-of-two gushed: 'I go out running with my girlfriend and stuff and I feel much better for it.' Liz owns an events company and it's believed the pair met at a corporate function her firm organised, as Wynne was booked as the entertainment. Wynne also paid tribute to Liz for helping him through a tough time in his work life, after he was axed by the BBC following his controversial 'spit roast' comment made during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour in January. Wynne - who is known for the Go Compare ads - was caught on camera seemingly suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter and Strictly professional Janette Manrara. The comment came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour and swiftly earned a rebuke from BBC bosses who told him: 'We will not tolerate such behaviour.' In May, Wynne broke his silence on his controversial comment as he claimed he was forced to apologise. He denied it was a sexual jibe about a female presenter and insisted he used the term 'spit roast' as a nickname for fellow contestant Jamie Borthwick. The opera singer confirmed in May the BBC will not be renewing his one-year rolling contract following a four-month investigation following the inappropriate comments made during his time on Strictly. He has since set up his own independent radio show which streams live on his website, following the end of his breakfast show on BBC Radio Wales. Wynne was previously married to wife seven years, Tanwen — the mum of his two kids. He revealed the 2016 breakup left him clinically depressed and he ballooned to 22 stone. The singer said he struggled with dating apps when he was single and many women only wanted to meet him because he was Gio Compario from the comparison site adverts. On his mental state following his divorce, he said: 'I had very dark thoughts and very dark days where I would contemplate all sorts of terrible things. 'I think it's obvious what I'm saying, but I don't want to say it because some people find it distressing. I'm fine to talk about it now, but at that time nothing would help me. 'I wanted my life to be over and I did some stupid things.'
