4 Members Of Interstate Gang Of Arms Dealers Arrested By Manipur Police

Manipur Police arrested four members of an inter-state gang of arms dealers and seized arms and ammunition from their possession, an officer said on Wednesday.
Police cracked down on an inter-state organised gang of arms smugglers and middlemen who were smuggling unauthorised arms across different states, operating clandestinely in Imphal and arrested four persons including a member of UNLF (Pambei) on Tuesday, the officer said.
Two 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistols, one 9 mm Sig Sauer pistol, one Glock 19 pistol with 2 magazines, one 7.65 mm JD Taurus pistol with magazine, one Falcon Cal 7.62 mm along with magazine, one M-20 Falcon pistol, one Keltec pistol .32 mm with 2 magazines, one Beretta pistol, Glock pistol .32, 159 number of .32 mm live ammunition and four wireless sets were seized from their possession, he said.

In a separate operation, the police on Tuesday arrested three active cadres of UNLF (Pambei) from Babupara in Imphal West district. They were involved in extortion and threatening government employees to gain contract work.
Two 9 mm pistols along with magazines, one .32 pistol along with magazine and ammunition were seized from their possession.
Security forces also arrested one active cadre of UNLF (Ningolmacha) involved in extortion in Thoubal district.

It is unclear if he was able to retrieve everything, and Walmart reportedly had to remove products worth $931 from the shelves. 'It should be noted that the time between when the defendant sprayed the items to when he placed them into the cart, left plenty of time for customers to take the contaminated items and purchase them,' the police report said. We are grateful for the swift action of law enforcement, and we'll continue to work closely with them throughout their investigation.' Smith confessed to the act, saying he stole the bug spray and used it on the items. He said he returned to the store to collect the contaminated items after facing online backlash. West Bengal CPI(M) leaders meet family of girl killed in Kaliganj bomb explosion
Leaders of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), including the party's State secretary Md. Salim, on Saturday met the family of the girl who was killed in the Kaliganj bomb explosion on June 23. Mr. Salim was accompanied by Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State president Meenakshi Mukherjee, who met the family members. They have proclaimed their allegiance to the CPI(M). Election to the Kaliganj Assembly seat was held on June 19, and on June 23, before the results were declared, a crude bomb hurled at the house of Tammana Khatun, 9, took her life. The police have claimed that the bombs were hurled from celebratory processions. The by-election saw the Trinamool Congress candidate, Alfa Ahmed, winning the election with a margin of over 50,000 votes. Speaking at a public gathering, Mr. Salim questioned why the area had not been sanitised, and all bombs and ammunition removed, during the elections. 'I ask the local police here — there are so many police here today because we are here. Where were you when this incident happened? ‘Cybercriminals using Tripura as corridor, mobile networks have become more dangerous than AK series rifles': CM Manik Saha
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha Saturday directed the police to strongly tackle the menace of cybercrime, stating that cyber criminals were trying to use the state as a corridor. While inaugurating a cybercrime police station at Arundhatinagar on the outskirts of Agartala, CM Saha said, 'Cybercrime is a matter of discussion in recent times. Many people lost everything after becoming victims of cybercrime. Cybercriminals are negatively using technology.' He added that mobile networks have become more dangerous than the AK series rifles. 'We talk about the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI), but it has negative effects too. The fraudsters can use AI against innocent people. People have to be more careful to keep themselves safe from fraudulent activities,' Saha further said. Reacting to the Opposition's allegation of breakdown in the law-and-order system in the state, the chief minister said, 'When they (Opposition) see that law and order is good here, then something opposite has to be said… People from elsewhere are coming to the state for jobs or business, as the law-and-order system is good here.' On tackling drugs, the chief minister said, 'If we speak about drugs, compared to last year, we could make 106 per cent more seizures. In the case of destruction, it is 132 per cent. The Opposition should back their claim with data. People are not fools. What happened during the Congress regime? What happened during the CPI(M) regime?' Addressing the same event, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag said the state has witnessed a 20 per cent reduction in crime in 2024 compared to 2023.
