The San Antonio Spurs left no doubt about their dominance on the Summer League stage, dismantling the Philadelphia 76ers in a 111-70 rout that showed a total team effort. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Spurs executed with precision, attacking from all areas of the floor and making the Sixers pay for every defensive misstep.
San Antonio's shooting, depth, and defensive presence overwhelmed a 76ers squad that struggled to find any rhythm or identity throughout the night.

The San Antonio Spurs' offense was nothing short of electric. They shot an impressive 56.5% from the field, going 39-for-69, and buried the 76ers from deep, connecting on 19-of-37 three-point attempts for a scorching 51.4% clip. At the free-throw line, they stayed solid, hitting 14-of-20 for 70%.
The man leading the charge was David Jones Garcia, who delivered a monster outing with 24 points on 75% shooting, including a blistering 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. In just 18 minutes, he also tallied 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals, putting together one of the best all-around stat lines of the Summer League so far.
Riley Minix added to the offensive fireworks with 14 points while shooting 50% from the floor. Dexter Dennis was flawless from long range, going 4-of-4 from three to also contribute 14 points.

The Spurs' bench added strong support, Kyle Mangas dropped 11 points, and Ozayi Orifo had 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Jameer Nelson Jr. didn't score in bunches, but he was perfect at the free-throw line, going 5-for-5 to help maintain momentum.
The defense matched the energy on the offensive end. San Antonio grabbed 52 total rebounds, including 10 offensive boards, and shared the ball exceptionally well with 26 assists.
They added 8 steals and 5 blocks, keeping Philadelphia off-balance the entire game. Despite a few flaws—16 turnovers and 25 team fouls—the Spurs' execution and pace controlled every aspect of the matchup.
Philadelphia, on the other hand, struggled from the opening quarter. The Sixers managed just 37.3% shooting from the field and made only 7 of their 22 three-point attempts (31.8%). Keve Aluma's 12 points and Mark Armstrong's 10 off the bench were among the few bright spots. Judah Mintz added 9 points, but needed 11 shots to get there. Philadelphia also committed 14 turnovers and missed 8 free throws, further sealing their fate.

The lopsided loss revealed a lack of chemistry and consistency among the Sixers' young core. Defensive breakdowns and poor ball movement made it difficult for them to mount any sort of comeback.

India's KL Rahul plays a shot on the fourth day of the 4th Test match between India and England (AP Photo/Jon Super) Team India batter KL Rahul has entered the history books by becoming the first Indian opener in 46 years to score over 500 runs in an away Test series. His prolific contributions this summer have made him India's second-highest run scorer in the series, trailing only captain Shubman Gill , and highlight a rare feat in the country's recent Test history. Despite India finding themselves on the back foot at Manchester, still trailing by over 100 runs on Day 4 of the fourth Test after rallying from 1 for 2, KL Rahul has stood firm. When Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan fell cheaply for golden ducks, Gill and Rahul steadied the ship with a vital partnership; Gill scored a vital half-century, while Rahul neared a solid century at Old Trafford. Across this five-match tour, Rahul's consistency with the bat has shone through, especially in the face of relentless bowling attacks and challenging conditions. His tally surpasses all previous Indian opening efforts overseas in recent decades, marking a milestone that no opener had achieved since the 1970s. England dominated at Old Trafford, posting a mammoth 669 in their first innings, largely thanks to Ben Stokes' exceptional all-round display: 141 with the bat and five wickets with the ball. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Mini House for 60 sqm for Seniors with Toilet and Bath (Price May Surprise You) Pre Fabricated Homes | Search Ads Search Now Undo Poll Do you think KL Rahul will continue his impressive form in future Test series? Divya Deshmukh devastated in FIDE Women's World Cup final draw against Koneru Humpy

Divya Deshmukh devastated (Screengrabs) The first game of the FIDE Women's World Cup final between 19-year-old Divya Deshmukh and 38-year-old Grandmaster (GM) Koneru Humpy ended in a tense draw on Saturday in Batumi, Georgia. But it was the emotion on Divya's face at the end, hands covering her disappointment, that told the real story of a missed opportunity. Watch: Making her debut in a major final, Divya came in with bold intent. Playing with the white pieces, she surprised many by opening with 1.d4, a move she hadn't played all tournament. It was a clear sign of targeted preparation. For the first hour, the young International Master (IM) held a clear edge, pushing Humpy onto the back foot with sharp, aggressive moves. But as the clock ticked and pressure mounted, Divya began using significant time for key decisions. The advantage slowly began to slip away. Humpy, ever composed, showed why she's long been India's top female player. She neutralised the pressure with precise calculation and calm defence, turning the tables slowly without ever forcing the issue. Game 2 will see Humpy take the white pieces. With one more classical game left, and possible tiebreaks after that, this final between experience and youth is just getting started.
