‘We're nauseatingly in love': Ted Danson brings his real-life romance to ‘A Man on the Inside'
The Golden Globe winner and his wife of 30 years have teamed up for Season 2 of the Netflix comedy series, ' A Man on the Inside. ' Steenburgen is set to play Danson's love interest on the show.
Danson, who plays a retired college engineering professor who is hired by a private investigator to go undercover at a Nob Hill retirement home, gushed about working with his wife on his 'Where Everybody Knows Your Name" podcast.
'It's just magical,' he said on the episode, released on Wednesday, June 11. 'We're falling in love. The story evolves, but I'm just head over heels. My character is in love with her, and to sit there on camera and look into your wife's eyes — and we're nauseatingly in love in private life — and just disappear into her eyes in front of a camera is pretty astounding.'
Steenburgen's character, Mona Margadoff, is a former musician and is expected to play a large role opposite Danson's Charles Nieuwendyk, according to Netflix's Tudum.
Others joining the show include Michaela Conlin ('Bones'), Gary Cole ('NCIS') and Max Greenfield ('New Girl').
This isn't Danson and Steenburgen's first time working together. They have co-starred in a number of projects over the years, including 'It Must Be Love' (2004), 'Gulliver's Travels' (1996) and 'Pontiac Moon' (1994). In the latter, they starred as a married couple, which sparked their real-life romance.
'By the way, if we suck, it's her fault,' Danson joked on the podcast episode. 'I just want to go on the record.'
'A Man on the Inside' featured a number of iconic San Francisco landmarks in its first season, from Oracle Park to the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts. The show's first eight episodes were released in November and it was named one of the American Film Institute's 2024 TV programs of the year.
The second season is expected to release later this year.

The Matrix is now streaming for free. Find out how to stream great movies (July 25-27)
Streaming has undoubtedly changed how we watch movies. While nothing can replace the theatrical experience, the pros of streaming ultimately outweigh the cons. That being said, the prices are getting out of control. Offset those costs by downloading FAST services, free apps that offer thousands of movies at no cost to the consumer. If you believe the quality of movies on FAST services is poor, think again. The Matrix, one of the most influential movies of the last 30 years, is streaming for free. The hits don't stop there. Learn how to stream The Matrix and two other films below. Recommended Videos We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on HBO Max, and the best movies on Disney+. The Matrix (1999) Trying to explain the importance of The Matrix in two paragraphs is borderline impossible, so I'll give you the Cliff's Notes. Directed by the Wachowskis, The Matrix explores a dystopian future where humanity becomes trapped inside a simulated reality controlled by machines. Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves), better known as the hacker Neo, is recruited by Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) to join his band of rebels in the fight to free humans from the Matrix. Morpheus believes Neo is 'the One,' humanity's messiah who will destroy the sentient agents trying to keep people from escaping the Matrix. Many of The Matrix's elements — fight choreography, slow motion, wire fu techniques, and philosophical themes — inspired an entire generation of movies. Without The Matrix, most of your favorite action and sci-fi movies in the 21st century would not exist. Stream The Matrix on Pluto TV. The Wedding Singer (1998) If Happy Gilmore 2 becomes a hit, perhaps Netflix would want to explore another sequel to another Adam Sandler '90s movie, The Wedding Singer. Before 1998, Sandler was best known for his juvenile and immature humor. The Wedding Singer displayed Sandler's softer side, proving something that many of us have known for years — the Sandman is one of Hollywood's most versatile actors. The kind-hearted Robbie Hart (Sandler) is left at the altar on his wedding day. To make matters worse, Robbie works as a wedding singer, meaning he's constantly surrounded by love and happiness, two things he has yet to find. The only thing snapping him out of his depression is Julia (Drew Barrymore), a cheerful waitress who asks Robbie to help plan her wedding. As the two bond over wedding plans, Robbie realizes he loves Julia and wants to be the one to marry her. Grow Old With You is a Hall of Fame Sandler song. Stream The Wedding Singer on Tubi. The Worst Person in the World (2021) Do not take the title, The Worst Person in the World, at face value. Renate Reinsve's Julie might believe she's a bad person, but in actuality, she's confused about her life and afraid of the future. It's a normal feeling for anyone in Julie's shoes, an unmarried twentysomething transitioning into her 30s. Divided into 12 chapters, a prologue, and an epilogue, The Worst Person in the World explores Julie's romantic life, including her relationships with a comic artist (Anders Danielsen Lie) and a barista (Herbert Nordrum). The spectacular Reinsve injects passion, charisma, and depth into her character while subverting our expectations in a familiar genre. Reinsve and director Joachim Trier will reunite later this year in the Oscar favorite Sentimental Value. Stream The Worst Person in the World on Tubi.

Kevin Costner's ambitious Western is underrated — watch it now on HBO Max (July 25-27)
Several of Warner Bros.' biggest releases of 2025 are streaming on HBO Max. A Minecraft Movie, the third-highest-grossing movie of 2025, and Sinners, Ryan Coogler's critically acclaimed vampiric horror, are occupying the first two spots in the top 10. Beyond the top 10, there are a plethora of underrated movies worthy of your time. Kevin Costner's Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is much better than the mixed reviews it received at the time of its release. This weekend, give Horizon and these two underrated movies a shot. Recommended Videos We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on HBO Max, and the best movies on Disney+. Music Box: Yacht Rock: A Documentary (2024) Christopher Cross. Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins. Steely Dan. Toto. These five musicians and bands helped pioneer a genre of music that became known as yacht rock. Developed in the late '70s and early '80s, yacht rock is a West Coast sound that infused soulful vocals with easy-listening lyrics. Yacht rock is a combination of soft pop, jazz, R&B, and funk. Yacht rock's popularity exploded in the mid-1980s, but by the end of the decade, it began to lose its stranglehold on pop culture. That's when an unlikely ally — hip hop artists — began sampling yacht rock beats in their songs, which led to a resurgence in the genre. Yacht Rock: A Documentary is an informative exploration into a genre that deserves much more credit for its significant impact on the music industry. Stream Music Box: Yacht Rock: A Documentary on HBO Max. Blue Beetle (2023) Blue Beetle was one of DC's casualties in 2023. James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new heads of DC Studios, clearly wanted the 2023 slate — Shazam 2, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman 2 — to disappear and make way for the new DC Universe. That being said, Blue Beetle displayed the most potential, which is probably why an animated series was greenlit. Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña as Jamie Reyes, a recent college graduate who becomes the Blue Beetle after fusing with the Scarab. The Scarab encases Jamie in an armored exoskeleton with superpowers, including flight, strength, and agility. Despite his initial hesitation, Jamie comes to accept his newfound abilities and embraces his new calling. On its surface, Blue Beetle is a superhero adventure, but the movie works best as a grounded family drama thanks to its terrific cast. Stream Blue Beetle on HBO Max. Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (2024) Kevin Costner has become the butt of a lot of jokes for Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1. Costner personally funded $38 million of the $100 million budget shared by the first two films. His ambition may have gotten the better of him, considering Chapter 1 flopped at the box office, and Warner Bros. removed Chapter 2 from its release calendar. All that being said, I'm glad Horizon exists because there are moments in this film — including the Apache raid and Hayes' confrontation with Caleb — that are pure cinematic magic. A Western about life on the American frontier is in Costner's wheelhouse. Mr. Costner, please sell the rights to Netflix to release the next three chapters. Stream Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 on HBO Max.

'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reveal their secret tribute to 'NCIS' O.G. Mark Harmon
Weatherly and de Pablo joined forces with "Tony & Ziva" showrunner John McNamara at Comic-Con 2025 to preview the new, action-packed "NCIS" spinoff. NCIS may be on its sixth spinoff, but all roads still lead back to Mark Harmon's Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, and John McNamara, the stars and creator/showrunner of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, were joined by their old NCIS colleague Brian Dietzen at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 on Thursday to preview the new spinoff series. Shortly after screening the first ten minutes of September's pilot episode, Weatherly and de Pablo offered each other a surreptitious, private hand signal that cracked a smile on both of their faces — arms raised, fists balled and swiveling on their hinges as if knocking on a door with quizzical "I got this" expressions on their faces. "What was that?" Dietzen asked. In a perfect showcase of their 20-years-and-counting chemistry, the pair responded in unison, "Mark Harmon." "This is his sign language thing from an episode," Weatherly said, harkening back to the 13 seasons he spent costarring alongside Harmon on NCIS. De Pablo called it "such a great moment," warm memories rising back into her eyes. McNamara added, "I remember seeing the dailies when you guys did that, and I was cracking up for days." But McNamara, who's only joining the NCIS-verse with Tony & Ziva, was in the dark as much as the rest of the Comic-Con audience at the Indigo Ballroom. Thankfully, de Pablo jumped in with the backstory. "It was a tribute to Gibbs. I think we were in a school, right?" she asked Weatherly, who nodded and added they were also "on a bus." De Pablo continued: "There was a camera, and he was sort of communicating with us. He felt no one was watching him. So since that moment, every time Michael and I — we could be anywhere in the world — and I'll just go," she said, performing the hand gesture, "and we know." Paramount+ announced NCIS: Tony & Ziva in February, a decade after Weatherly's last episode as an NCIS series regular and 12 years after de Pablo's. Both actors worked closely with Harmon, around whom the NCIS-verse still turns. The franchise announced its fifth spinoff, NCIS: Origins, in early 2024. The series delves into the background of Harmon's legendary investigative commander Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and Harmon even made a cameo appearance in the pilot Weatherly, de Pablo, and McNamara hinted that fans could definitely look forward to some NCIS name-drops on Tony & Ziva — and even look forward to potential future crossover appearances — Harmon doesn't appear slated for a Tony & Ziva season 1 cameo. But Weatherly joked that the Comic-Con audience would now at least take a little piece of Leroy Jethro Gibbs lore with them into the world. "Now that we've told everyone in this room, [de Pablo] and I are going to be in a public bathroom somewhere in Detroit, and someone's gonna be like," he joked, making the secret signal. The first three episodes of NCIS: Tony & Ziva premiere Sept. 4 on Paramount+, with new episodes to follow weekly until the Oct. 23 season finale. Check out more of .
