Kimi Antonelli, 18, skips F1: The Movie red carpet to graduate from SCHOOL ahead of Austrian GP
CELEBRATIONS are coming at breakneck speed for Formula One star Kimi Antonelli.
Less than two weeks ago, at the age of 18 years and 294 days old, he became F1 's third-youngest podium sitter ever with a third-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix.

But just over a week later, the teenage superstar was celebrating another major milestone as he graduated from SCHOOL.
Following his maiden podium in Montreal, Antonelli returned home to Casalecchio di Reno, Italy, to sit his final exams.
On Monday evening, the Mercedes rookie shared a picture on Instagram showing him wearing a celebratory green and red garland on his head.
He captioned the image, "promosso," which is Italian for "passed".
Reporters swarmed outside his school afterwards, eager to get a word with the rapidly rising F1 star.
He said: "I was fairly stressed, because I didn't have much time to study. But I did my best."
Antonelli has been juggling his academic studies with his duties as an F1 driver in the first half of the 2025 season, putting his life in the fast lane into overdrive.
His attendance at school meant he skipped the red carpet for the premiere of F1: The Movie in London.
Earlier this year Antonelli invited 25 of his classmates to join him at his home race in the Imola Grand Prix.
But now having completed his schooling he can fully prepare for the remaining 14 rounds of the F1 world championship.

A New York event in the previous week with his fellow speedsters was passed up by Antonelli too, though Max Verstappen also skipped the event to be at home with his new baby daughter.
The next F1 race commences in Austria this weekend, with McLaren 's Oscar Piastri leading the World Drivers Championship by 22 points after team-mate Lando Norris crashed out of the race.

Oscar Piastri left frustrated after dramatic end to qualifying at Austrian Grand Prix: 'F**k me'
Australian Oscar Piastri was left ruing a missed opportunity at the Austrian Grand Prix after a late yellow flag disrupted his final qualifying lap. Piastri's McLaren teammate Lando Norris was in blistering form, putting his crash of a fortnight ago behind him with a monster pole position for Sunday night's race. Practically faultless, he was streets ahead of second-placed Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, with Piastri finishing third. It's likely the Aussie would have improved his time, but his chances were thwarted when Pierre Gasly spun out on the final corner in the closing moments of Q3, causing a yellow flag to be waved. 'It was the fact I didn't get to start it [his final lap], that was the problem I had,' Piastri told Sky Sports. 'Gasly spun at the last corner so I didn't even open my second lap. 'Lando has been very quick all weekend and it would have been a tough challenge, but I think we easily had enough pace in the car this weekend to be on the front row. 'So always a shame when you don't even get the chance but we can still have a good race from there. 'It's sometimes just not your day.' Piastri's frustration was evident when speaking on team radio directly after Gasly's incident. 'Oh mate, I don't have time for another lap, do I? F**k me, man. Jesus Christ,' he said. Norris blew the field away with an inch-perfect lap and seems more focused than ever to close the gap on his teammate. 'It was a good lap, that's for sure,' Norris said. 'Very happy, a good day, a good weekend for me, so hopefully I can keep it up. 'It is a long season. I savour this moment. 'It is pleasing for myself, but it is a long race tomorrow.'

Jannik Sinner won't say why he fired two team members right before Wimbledon
Jannik Sinner confirmed that he recently fired two members of his team — fitness coach Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulises Badio, who themselves were replacements for people involved in the player's doping case — but declined Saturday to explain the reason for the change ahead of Wimbledon. Sinner, who has been ranked No. 1 for more than a year, said that he decided shortly after losing in the second round of the grass-court tournament in Halle, Germany, this month to make the change. Sinner has not yet found substitutes for Panichi and Badio, who both used to work with Novak Djokovic. 'Nothing seriously bad happened. They did great work for (the past) three months. Sometimes, things happen,' Sinner said at his pre-tournament news conference. 'The timing obviously isn't the best, but having done a lot of work (together) before, it won't affect this Grand Slam a lot. I feel well physically and mentally and ready to compete.' Play begins Monday at the All England Club, where Sinner was a quarterfinalist in 2024. He will play Luca Nardi in an all- Italian matchup on Tuesday. Last year, Sinner tested positive twice for a trace amount of an anabolic steroid in March; the case wasn't made public until August, shortly before the U.S. Open, which he ended up winning for the second of his three Grand Slam titles. He initially was completely cleared, based on the defense that he accidentally was exposed to the banned substance, Clostebol, via a massage from his then-physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi. Sinner said his fitness trainer at the time, Umberto Ferrara, purchased a product in Italy and gave it to Naldi for a cut on Naldi's finger. Naldi then treated Sinner while not wearing gloves. The World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the exoneration, and Sinner agreed to serve a three-month ban that ended right before the Italian Open in May. On Saturday, Sinner was asked repeatedly in English and Italian what led him to part ways with Panichi and Badio. 'There's not one specific thing,' Sinner said. He was the runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open three weeks ago, wasting a two-set lead and three match points in a final that lasted 5 1/2 hours. As for adding new team members, Sinner said Saturday: 'I haven't thought about replacements. It's not the time to think about my options. But there are a lot of options.' ___ Howard Fendrich has been the AP's tennis writer since 2002. Find his stories here: More AP tennis:
