Orlando Pirates: New stars spotted training ahead of Chiefs clash
Orlando Pirates have a new face in training, just days out from the Soweto derby.
Orlando Pirates have been spotted with three new players in training.
So, where are these players from?
Not one, not two but three new players are currently training with the Pirates.
'Orlando Pirates have three reserve team players, Simphiwe Selepe, Cemran Dansin and 17-year-old Sibusiso Tau, training with the first team, ' the report read on Goal.
Dansin is the caption of the Bucs DDC side. Furthermore, Selepe and Tau are both Pirates DDC stars too.
As things stand, Tau has reportedly signed a first team contract with Pirates.
Meanwhile, Selepe and Dansin both have a chance to impress Bucs management during training. However, neither player is likely to feature for the Pirates senior team this season. Meaning, this training sessions are to provide these starlets with some exposure to first team practice sessions.
ORLANDO PIRATES: FINAL SOWETO DERBY FOR THESE BUCS LEGENDS
Pirates coach, Jose Riveiro will be leaving at the end of the season.
Moreover, Bucs captain Innocent Maela contract will expire at the end of the season. Meaning, Pirates will have a new coach next season. Furthermore, there is a high chance that the new coach will need to appoint a new captain soon.
That is why Bucs management are focused on giving youngsters opportunities. Relobohile Mofokeng, and Mohau Nkota are both key members of the current Pirates side. Both men are Bucs DDC graduates.
Therefore, it is clear that Pirates have tremendous quality coming through the ranks.

Orlando Pirates coach Ouaddou could beat Chiefs with a relegation side
Abdeslam Ouaddou took over at Marumo Gallants when they were in a spot of bother, but he excelled and earned a big move to Orlando Pirates. ADVERTISEMENT 46-year-old Moroccan Abdeslam will be tasked with winning the league at Pirates. He's already got new players to work with, but what's his style? How will Orlando Pirates play under their new boss? Ouaddou used a 4-2-3-1 with Marumo Gallants and made his side difficult to beat. In 10 Betway Premiership matches in charge, he won four, drew four and lost just two. With 1.6 points per game, his average tally was far superior to that of Kaizer Chiefs, who only scraped together 1.14 points per game. Some fans say Ouaddou would finish higher than Chiefs while coaching a relegation-threatened side. Ouaddou had a solid playing career Abdeslam Ouaddou was a key figure for Morocco, winning an impressive tally of 68 caps for his country. A late bloomer, he only made his debut aged 21 and earned his first massive move in 2001 when he moved to newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham. Back then, €3.3 million was a lot of money. Today it's equivalent to R69 million. ADVERTISEMENT Is Moremi the new Segolela? He also courted controversy Abdeslam Ouaddou's first professional club was Ligue 1 side Nancy. During his second spell there, the board claimed that his refusal to train was sufficient under French labour law to constitute gross misconduct. Although his deal at the time ran until 2012, he left immediately. The story, however, had a happy ending as the imposing central defender returned to Nancy in January 2013 for a third stint. However, he retired two weeks later without playing a match. Ouaddou won the 2007 Greek League with Olympiacos and the 2002-2023 UEFA Intertoto Cup with Fulham. Ex-Orlando Pirates defender on why the PSL lacks white players
Former AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates left-back Marc van Heerden has weighed in on the conversation about why the Premier Soccer League (PSL) lacks white football players. In the 90s, most PSL teams had several white players; however, the number started to decline in the mid to late 2000s. Van Heerden, who made his debut in the late 2000s for AmaTuks (University of Pretoria), has shared his insights on why there has been a lack of white footballers in the past decade. 'There was Mike Morton, there was Brad (Grobler). You had Jeremy Brockie,' the former Bafana Bafana defender told Robert Marawa on MSW . 'There's definitely talent across all races in our country. I just don't think they understand that they have the opportunity.' Van Heerden mentioned that some white players would often give up football and focus on other things. 'A lot of them that do have the talent give up. I knew plenty of players growing up that just gave up too easily. 'When I was at SuperSport's academy in the beginning stages, we had white, coloured and black players. I think it's a mentality thing, even at that age,' he said. The former AmaZulu left-back retired at the end of the 2023/24 season, after nearly two decades playing professional football. 'Do I really want to become a professional football player? Am I willing to work as hard as I possibly can to become that? Do I love the game that much to be that?' Van Heerden asked. Former PSL players Mike Morton and Matthew Booth last year also touched on the topic, explaining why white players opt not to play soccer as a profession. Why Kaizer Chiefs will be a different team next season
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi feels his former club will be a different team next season. Amakhosi have finished outside the top 8 in back-to-back seasons for the first time in PSL history. Under Nasredine Nabi, the club has not shown much improvement; however, they ended their 10-year trophyless run when they won the Nedbank Cup. 'Chiefs went to Turkey last season and they did well in the early stages of the league. Remember there was a reshuffling of the technical team after the first assistant left and then they had to bring in another one,' Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma . 'Going to Netherlands now, it will be good for them because they are going to be preparing against teams that will give them a challenge to prepare for the league. In Netherlands, they are usually good tactically, so I think it can help Chiefs in establishing a good structure in their line-up. I think they will come back a different team. They will come back a better team.' Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with five players but are yet to confirm any new signings. The likes of Ranga Chivaviro and Edmilson Dove are amongst the departed players meaning the Soweto giants might be eyeing to sign a few foreign players.
