Barcelona star suffers heavy FALL on party bus roof during LaLiga title celebrations - and takes a Man City target down with him!

Daily Mail17-05-2025
A Barcelona star took a tumble on the roof of the club's party bus during their LaLiga title trophy parade on Friday night.
Inigo Martinez slipped from a ledge and managed to drag Manchester City target Dani Olmo with him.
Barca celebrated reclaiming the title from Real Madrid in front of 670,000 fans during their festivities in the city streets on Friday.
It is not yet clear if the pair were hurt but fortunately they fell back into the interior of the bus as opposed to off the edge.
Martinez, 34, has since posted a joyful recount of the day on Instagram in a series of photos and videos, with no mention of his accident.
The defender was shirtless and had been waving his scarf around like a showman moments before he lost his footing as he tried to descend from the platform.

Barca confirmed their league title, and indeed a domestic treble, at the home of their city rivals Espanyol on Thursday with a 2-0 win.
Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez were on the scoresheet at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat as they reached an unassailable lead over Madrid.
Oddly, La Blaugrana have actually had the title confirmed at Espanyol's ground more times this century than they have had at their own.
It capped off a stellar first season in the dugout for Hansi Flick, who has also brought home the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.
His men were knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals in that breathless 7-6 tie by Inter Milan, but they'll have plenty of confidence for the future.
Flick once won six trophies in a nine-month period at Bayern Munich, including the Champions League.
In fact, he only managed 86 games with the German giants but still lifted seven trophies, so if there's one thing he's used to, it's winning.
Barcelona are good value for their success this campaign, having scored 97 in the league and 167 in 58 games in all competitions.
This season has been marked by the true breakout of Lamine Yamal, who became a regular last season but has excelled this time around.
The 17-year-old has bagged 17 goals and assisted 21 in all competitions to put himself in contention for the Ballon d'Or.
His performance in the first leg against Inter Milan, in which he scored once but could have had a few, will go down as one of the most memorable in recent years for his fearlessness and skill.
Robert Lewandowski has continued to be prolific with 40 goals at the age of 36.
Former Leeds star Raphinha, meanwhile, has also been instrumental, with 34 goals and 22 assists.
Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who came out of retirement as cover for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, has played a big part.

That's an unbelievable run of 4,321 GAMES. It's a point of pride for many at the club, and a tradition that has proved fruitful in years gone by with 18 of United's 20 league titles coming in that time and three European Cups. However, with things taking a turn at Old Trafford after a dismal season last term, Ruben Amorim could be at risk of being the first manager to veer away from the record. Of course, the shining light of the academy, Kobbie Mainoo, remains in place and is expected to play a big role for United this season. Pep Guardiola launches new side hustle as Man City boss admits ‘people are waiting for me to fail'

PEP GUARDIOLA has launched a new side hustle to prepare for life down the road after Manchester City. The legendary boss has channelled his energy into positive vibes and wellness after missing out on silverware for only the second time in his incredible 17-year career last season. 6 6 Guardiola, 54, has gone into business with a DOCTOR and a therapist in Barcelona, his home base where he spends time with family during rare stints of time off. The Etihad gaffer has put his cash and image behind high-performance recovery facility called the Monarka Clinic, which opened its doors last month. The clinic is located at a prime address in Barcelona, right on the historic Passeig de Gràcia, an avenue that hosts some of Spain's most pricey real estate. Days after a shock exit from the Club World Cup last-16 to Al-Hilal in June, Guardiola told GQ: 'I'm a big investor in large projects." The Premier League manager got lapped into the Monarka Clinic through a chance meeting in unfortunate circumstances. He had been treated by one of the creators Dr Mireia Illueca after suffering from a slipped disc in his back a few years ago. Guardiola explained: 'I had a back problem and she fixed it, and since then we've gotten to known each other and become very close. 'She told me about the clinic and her project, about the things she wants to do. As I've always believed that sport, health and wellness are all fundamental, she asked me: 'Why don't we work together?' 6 'And I replied, 'Why not?' And here we are. I'm not going to cure anyone, but I'll keep her company while she does. I've already been doing that for a while.' Dr Illueca is a neurosurgeon and expert in regenerative medicine and pain management, while co-owner Montse Escobar is a psychologist who specialises in identifying the emotional root causes of physical ailments. Pep Guardiola and stunning daughter Maria belt out Oasis classic as Man City boss parties with Gallagher family at gig Meanwhile, Guardiola debuted a brand new clean shaven look while visiting to the clinic last month - ditching his usual beard for a striking moustache. Guardiola thinks the clinic can help both the general public and professional athletes in dealing with physical pain through mental methods. So people are waiting for me to fail? Yes, yes, I'm sure that's true. GuardiolaGQ He even half-joked that being City boss has taken years off his life when he said: 'Quite a few, especially if things are going badly. 'As I am now I'm 75 years old! I'm a wreck, everything hurts right now. 'So, if it's my biological age… maybe if I take the test, I'll come out younger. I hope to be better than I am now in a while. 6 6 'A friend of mine, who I think defined me very well, once told me that I have three states as a person: euphoric, depressed, and absent. Those are my three states. "So the point is to try to stay in the middle of these three.' The Spaniard is desperate to restore City back to the top when the Prem kicks off this month, after a record spell of four league titles in a row ended in failure last season. While speaking to GQ, he later agreed with the notion that people are "waiting for him to fail" after years of domination. When quizzed, Guardiola said: "So they're waiting for me to fail? Yes, yes, I'm sure that's true. And I'm delighted to see them too. Delighted. "That gives you energy. In competition, you need people to say to you: 'Really? We'll see about that.' "They were the ones who said: 'He won't be able to do it in Germany, he was at Barcelona because of who he knew,' and 'In England, you'll see, English football is different.' "Well, no. We did it. And then we did it again and again. Do things sometimes go wrong? Of course they do." City open their Premier League campaign against Wolves at the Etihad on August 16. 6

Real Madrid's request to postpone LaLiga opener denied, report says

Aug 1 (Reuters) - Real Madrid will begin their LaLiga campaign with a home game against Osasuna as scheduled after Spain's federation (RFEF) rejected their appeal to postpone the August 19 fixture on Thursday, local media reported. Real had requested a longer rest period and pre-season after playing in the Club World Cup in the U.S., where they lost to Paris St Germain in the semi-finals on July 9, according to the report. Reuters has contacted the RFEF and Real for comment. An RFEF judge ruled that in order to preserve the integrity of the competition only a case of force majeure would warrant a change to the official calendar, and that Real's case did not justify an alteration, Europa Press news agency reported. "Finally, it should be added that although the requesting club claims to have the agreement of the opposing party, CA Osasuna, there is no record of this entity having responded to the request made by this judge," the sole judge was quoted as saying in his ruling by the Europa Press.
