Nintendo gamers have largely missed out on FromSoftware's games. Now, not one but two of the Dark Souls developer's titles will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
During the new console's Nintendo Direct Wednesday, we learned that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is headed to Nintendo Switch 2, which releases on June 5th of this year.
More exciting is the big reveal of The Duskbloods, a new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that looks, for all intents and purposes, like the spiritual successor to Bloodborne. The game has vampires, lots of moon references, and a style that hovers somewhere between Dark Souls and the popular (and sequelless) PlayStation exclusive. Only this time there appear to be dinosaurs - and jetpacks.
Here's the trailer:
As you can see, the Nintendo Switch 2 is clearly a step up from its predecessor but not up to par with the competition in the graphics department. The graphics here are a far cry from Elden Ring, looking more like games FromSoftware was putting out last generation. I'm not particularly concerned about that. The Japanese studio's strong point isn't graphics, however gorgeous Elden Ring was, but rather gameplay. And this looks to have that signature Souls flavor both in terms of combat and cryptic storytelling.

It's described as a 'multiplayer game' in the trailer's description. Whether that means it's more like Elden Ring: Nightreign, or just multiplayer in the same way all of From's games are (summoning, invasions etc.) remains to be seen.
The game doesn't have a set release date yet, but it's coming out sometime in 2026. If this is more of a multiplayer-focused game than most of From's titles, that is a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully we get a proper Bloodborne 2 down the road. And a PC version.
Here's the trailer for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which is pretty obviously a slightly downgraded (or, um, tarnished) version of the multiplatform title:
A bunch of other games are headed to the Nintendo Switch 2 including Mario Kart World at launch, the first new game in that series since 2014.

You can (finally) buy the Nintendo Switch 2 on Amazon now (but don't expect a Prime Day deal)

The scramble to buy the first wave of Nintendo Switch 2 gaming consoles left a lot of fans in the lurch. Getting your hands on a Switch 2 of your own still takes some luck if you weren't fortunate enough to snag a pre-order. One of the points of drama has been that major seller Amazon wasn't an option for buying the new hardware. Until now! The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle is now finally listed for sale there. Before you dash to get the gaming console into your online shopping cart, there is a caveat. Buying the Switch 2 is only available by invitation. You can request an invitation, which appears to be a one-click deal if you're logged in to an Amazon account. The auto-responder email I received didn't offer any details about what might merit me receiving an invite. If you pass muster, though, Amazon will send an invite link that's good for 22 hours. Requests that aren't honored in this round of invites will be eligible for selection in the future. So if you're still on the hunt for a Switch 2 and a chance to play the delightful Mario Kart World , it might be worth throwing your name into the Amazon lottery. And while this sudden availability doesn't come with any discounts, it has conveniently arrived just as Amazon Prime Day kicks off with plenty of deals and steals from the retailer.

Amazon gets the green light to sell the Nintendo Switch 2

Amazon finally has listings for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the US – though right now, you can only register your interest for an invitation to purchase a console. If you're interested, here are links to the console and Mario Kart World bundle and the console on its own. It's a big change following Nintendo removing listings for its products from Amazon starting last year. Bloomberg reported in June that Nintendo pulled the listings because third-party sellers sold games at prices 'that undercut Nintendo's advertised rates.' Nintendo and Amazon pushed back on Bloomberg's report in statements to the publication but didn't go into specifics. However, there have been signs that something had changed between Nintendo and Amazon, with Switch 2 games like Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land all recently getting official Amazon product pages. If you request an Amazon invite, the product page will show a message saying that 'if invited to purchase, you'll get an email with a link that's valid for 22 hours. We won't be able to grant all requests.' I got an email notifying me about my request, too. The Switch 2 has been a huge hit for Nintendo, becoming the fastest-selling game console of all time since its June 5th launch. If you are still looking for a console and Amazon doesn't come through, retailers like Walmart and Best Buy have occasional restocks.
