Dillon Brooks says his ex threatened to cut his fingers off as he files restraining order
Mercurial NBA star Dillon Brooks alleges his ex once threatened to cut off his fingers, with the newly acquired Phoenix Sun now seeking a restraining order.
Brooks — just days removed from being traded out of Houston as part of the Kevin Durant blockbuster — filed for a restraining order in Los Angeles against his ex Heather Andrews, the New York Post reports.
Brooks reportedly accused Andrews of harassment and making threats, according to TMZ.
In purported correspondence obtained by TMZ, Brooks said a message allegedly from the mother of his two young children read: 'I'll habe [sic] someone cut each one of your f**king little fingers off one by one… So you can never play basketball LOL… And actually now I understand why people are racist.'
Brooks, said to have met Andrews at a Las Vegas nightclub in 2018, claimed the harassment originated around the time she was pregnant with their first child.
He alleges to have been the recipient of 'emotionally abusive' messages, with their private exchanges sometimes being shared in a public space to cast him in a negative light.
The matter intensified when their second baby was on the way, according to Brooks, who said Andrews' 'threats referenced various different ways that she was going to hurt me either personally, professionally, or both'.
Brooks also claimed Andrews threatened his mother by sharing the message: 'I'll send someone after your mom to [sic] bitch.'
The former second-round pick recently alleged Andrews gained unauthorised access to his account on the OurFamilyWizard co-parenting app and transmitted 'a 'criminal threat' message to herself purporting to come from me', per TMZ.
Beyond the alleged threats, Andrews is accused of defacing Brooks' property.
One apparent incident dating back to 2022 claims she scribbled 'You Suck Bitch' on an outdoor mantle.
Both parties are expected to meet in front of a judge in July.
Brooks, widely regarded as the league's top antagonist, is heading to the Suns after Phoenix shipped Durant to the Rockets last weekend.
Young star Jalen Green is also part of the package.
Brooks averaged 14 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this season.
He began his career in Memphis in 2017.

Brooks Koepka withdraws from LIV Golf event after tee-box meltdown
Golf superstar Brooks Koepka unravelled at the LIV Golf Dallas tournament on Friday (Saturday AEST). The former world No. 1 stormed out of the first round after smashing a tee box marker in visible frustration and then withdrawing due to illness, the New York Post reports. The five-time major champion opened the day poorly, carding triple bogeys on the fifth and seventh holes at Maridoe Golf Club and sitting at six-over par through the front nine. And that seemingly angered him. His boiling point came on the ninth hole after an errant drive where Koepka angrily slammed his club into the ground. He then struck the tee box marker and it flew toward the crowd, although it appeared that no one was hurt. Koepka was playing alongside Aussie Cam Smith, who is seen walking off the tee as the American blows his top. Following that outburst, Koepka continued to struggle, bogeying the 10th and 13th holes. He ultimately withdrew from the tournament during the 14th hole, citing an apparent illness. LIV Golf announced that Luis Carrera would replace him in the Smash GC team, and noted that while Koepka's individual score would not count, he could still return to contribute late this weekend if he chooses to. Prior to switching to LIV, the Florida native enjoyed a golden run on the PGA Tour. He reached No. 1 in the world rankings as he claimed the US Open in 2017 and 2018 plus the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019. He added another PGA title in 2023, but Koepka recently acknowledged the past few months had been difficult. He missed cuts at both the Masters and PGA Championship and has now gone nine consecutive majors without a top-10 finish. 'From the first weekend in April until about [the beginning of June], you didn't want to be around me,' Koepka said earlier this month. 'It drove me nuts. It ate at me. I haven't been happy. It's been very irritating.' As LIV Golf Dallas moves into the weekend, some eyes will be fixed on whether Koepka will return to the course following the incident and his withdrawal. Koepka, who turned 35 in May, reached three years competing on the LIV Golf circuit this month.
