However, tensions began to arise between him and Solo Sikoa, especially when Solo brought in J.C. Matteo as his new ally in the Bloodline. On an edition of SmackDown before Money in the Bank, Sikoa talked ill about Fatu to Matteo, which the Samoan Werewolf heard.
He later attacked Solo Sikoa during the Money in the Bank ladder match, beginning their feud in full force. The duo also had a heated exchange on SmackDown, after which Fatu offered to put the WWE United States title against him. The match was made official for the upcoming WWE Night of Champions Premium Live Event.
