Miniratna PSU stock Mishra Dhatu Nigam declares date to announce Q4 results 2025

Mint21-05-2025
Miniratna PSU stock Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has announced that its Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to consider and approve the audited financial results (standalone and consolidated) for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2025 (Q4 and FY25).
The company informed stock exchanges—BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)—about the scheduled board meeting in compliance with Regulation 29 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
In the regulatory filing, MIDHANI also noted that in continuation of its earlier communication, the company's trading window closure will remain in effect until 48 hours after the declaration of financial results. This is in line with its internal Code of Conduct to Regulate, Monitor, and Report Trading by Designated Persons.
The trading window restrictions aim to prevent insider trading and ensure compliance with SEBI regulations as the company prepares to disclose its financial performance.
For the December 2024 quarter (Q3FY25), MIDHANI posted a strong performance with net profit surging 99.38 percent year-on-year (YoY) to ₹ 25.52 crore, driven by improved operational efficiencies. EBITDA grew 46 percent YoY to ₹ 59.72 crore, though revenue from operations dipped 5.13 percent YoY to ₹ 245.24 crore, highlighting the benefits of cost management and higher recycling efficiency.
Brokerage firm ICICI Securities noted that MIDHANI's Q3 performance stood out due to cost controls, operational leverage, and a visible pickup in exports. Despite a 13 percent YoY decline in value of production (VoP), the company maintained a robust order book of ₹ 19,400 crore, translating to a book-to-bill ratio of 1.8x on a trailing twelve-month basis.
ICICI Securities also sees future growth being driven by the ramp-up of MIDHANI's newly commissioned 500 tonnes per annum Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) facility, alongside a continued emphasis on cost rationalisation and inventory efficiency.
Factoring in the risks from volatility in currently low imported raw material prices, the brokerage has moderated its valuation multiple to 17x FY27E earnings, arriving at a revised target price of ₹ 375, and upgraded the stock to a 'Buy' rating.
In intra-day deals today, the PSU stock advanced 2 percent to its day's high of ₹ 405. Currently, the defense stock is 25 percent away from its 52-week high of ₹ 541.00, hit in July 2024. Meanwhile, it has jumped 86.5 percent from its 52-week low of ₹ 217.05, hit in April 2025.
In the last 1 year, the scrip has shed almost 17 percent. Moreover, just in May, it had rallied 30 percent following a 13 percent surge in April and 12 percent gain in March. Before that, it lost 26 percent in February and almost 3 percent in January.
Hyderabad-based Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), incorporated in 1973, is a Mini-Ratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence. The company specialises in manufacturing high-performance materials such as special steels, superalloys, and titanium alloys. These critical products cater to high-value, strategic sectors including defence, space, and power.

VCs flocking to GIFT City to tap global investment opportunities

More Indian venture capital firms are setting up offices in Gujarat International Finance Tec-city, GIFT city for short, as this makes it easy for funds to invest in overseas startups and offers an alternative to offshore routes such as Mauritius, several investors told ET. Multiple VCs ET spoke to have either set up in GIFT City or evaluating the region even as more Indian founders move to the US. VC firms that have set up in the region include Blume Ventures, 3one4 Capital, Stellaris Venture Partners, A91 Partners, and Z47, which opened its first office in GIFT City recently. Private equity firms such as Kedaara Capital and Multiples have set up in the region as well. Vinod Shankar, managing partner, Java Capital, said that they are exploring GIFT city as they are looking to raise funds from overseas investors for their third fund. Data from International Financial Services Centers Authority that governs GIFT City shows that close to 255 alternative investment funds (AIF) are registered in GIFT City. To be sure these are not unique entries, as each AIF can have multiple funds registered. This growing interest has come at a time when more founders are moving to San Francisco, the ground zero for AI, to be closer to customers and tap into talents and technology development early. They are followed by investors, who are investing more in the India-US corridor. For many of them, GIFT City presents a suitable alternative to overseas offshore regions such as Mauritius. Moving to GIFT Ashish Fafadia, partner, Blume Ventures, said that they have been successful in convincing their LPs to start evaluating and setting up in GIFT city. 'We have taken a view that if you are going to compare tax stability it is definitely no worse than Mauritius. We believe that this is only going to get better and it would be more prudent to set up here than outside (India), though this may take time,' Fafadia said that they are seeing an increase in interest from investors who are exploring GIFT as an option, particularly those who want to invest in the companies in the US or other regions. 'GIFT City structure makes it easier to invest in say USD or GBP, unlike the longer process involved in the SEBI-governed Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)', she there are challenges to this. Challenges Bhagwan, who was cited earlier, said that while GIFT city aims to make the process simple, a lot more needs to be done to make the process easier. 'When we were helping a fund set up in GIFT City we faced challenges. LPs need to work with the banks to convert INR to USD, a process that took us nearly 3-6 months to finalize,' she investor, who explored GIFT City, said that unlike Mauritius where the tax implications are well-known, the region is new and there is not much clarity when it comes to tax implications. He also raised concerns around the mandate to set up an office to operate the Fafadia said, 'Reality is that, IFSC regulations are easier as well as better than naysayers projected it out to be and not as perfect as what regulators may want it to be. But the regulations are not meant to be a cake walk, more so for sunrise industries such as Alternatives (Investment Funds). What we have seen with the regulators in GIFT City is that there is willingness to turn things around at the policy level. Gurugram Metro Phase 1 builder finalised, work could start by end of month

The Gurugram Metro's Phase 1 construction — from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, spanning 15.23km and 14 stations — could begin soon as a joint venture of Dilip Buildcon Ltd and Ranjit Buildcon Ltd (DBL-RBL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for the ₹1,586 crore construction tender with a bid of ₹1,503 crore, officials of Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) said on Sunday. Millennium City Centre metro station in Gurugram Sector 29. (Parveen Kumar/HT Photo) Negotiations with the company will be held in the next 10 days after which they will be awarded the work, a GMRL official said, adding that the company is expected to start work at the project site by the end of this month. GMRL said that a total of six firms had bid for the project. 'The project involves construction of a 15.23-kilometre-long viaduct and 14 elevated metro stations, along with a 1.85km spur to Dwarka Expressway, an underpass at Bhakhtawar Chowk, and a ramp to the depot at Sector 33. The construction timeline is 30 months. The project cost is ₹1,503.63 crore,' Dilip Buildcon told SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) on August 2. 'In accordance with the provisions of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, we are pleased to inform you that the company through DBL-RBL JV has declared as L-1 bidder for the tender floated by GMRL,' it said. According to GMRL, the civil contractor will have to conduct a detailed survey of the alignment for the viaduct to fix the span and construct major components of the viaduct. The contractor will also build the station structure including track supporting structure, commercial area and other civil works including entry and exits to the stations. The contractor will set up a control room with round-the-clock radio communication or telephone switch board links with all safety offices, works sites, site offices, batching plants, casting yards, workshops and all locations. 'The Gururgam Metro project has to be completed in the next four years and this is the reason we are working hard to finalise the alignment of the phase two as well so that the tender for civil construction can be floated,' a senior GMRL official said. The metro stations, which will be constructed under Phase 1 are Millennium City Centre, which will be connected with the Delhi Metro station through an interchange, Sector 45, Cyber Park (Sector 46), Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 33, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai, Sector 9 and Sector 101, which will be connected through a spur. 'The joint venture of Dilip Buildcon and Ranjit Buildcon has emerged as the lowest bidder for the construction of first phase of Gurugram metro from Millennium City centre to Sector 9. Six companies had qualified for the financial bid, which were evaluated by GMRL. The negotiations with the lowest bidder will be held in next seven to 10 days after which work will be awarded. We expect the contractor to mobilise the site by the end of this month as construction of Gurugram Metro project is on high priority,' said a senior GMRL official. The six companies which qualified for the tender included L&T, GR Infra, Afcons, J Kumar and KLPT, said the official, adding that the bids were between ₹1,503 crore and ₹1,812 crore. The construction tender for the first phase of Gururgam Metro was floated on March 8 but it was extended in May as the scope of work had changed. The ₹5,452 crore Gurugram Metro extension project, whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16 last year, will extend the metro line from Huda City Centre to Cyber Hub via Old Gurugram, covering a total distance of 28.5km with a total of 27 elevated stations.
