'I didnt want to offend him as a thespo': Jeff Bridges shares working experience with Jared Leto in Tron: Ares

Washington DC [US], July 26 (ANI): Actor Jeff Bridges shared his working experience with Jared Leto in an upcoming science fiction action film, 'Tron: Ares', directed by Joachim Ronning from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow, based on a story by David Digilio and Wigutow, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "He's one of those guys. Everyone has different methods and modes, man," said Bridges during Tron: Ares' laser-heavy presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. "I didn't want to offend him as a thespo," Bridges continued, addressing Leto, who is known as a method actor. "But I thought, 'I wanted to have a certain intimacy with you. I know your name is Ares. Can I just call you Air?' He said, 'Yeah man! You can call me whatever you want!' We had a great time," as per the outlet. Leto recalled the first scene he had with Bridges. "I just blurted out, 'cut!' Everyone was surprised, because I don't often do that. The first AD comes over and said, 'Is everything OK? What's wrong?' And I said, 'You know, I just can't stop smiling, because I'm working with my guy.'" Tron: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning, arrives on October 10. Unlike the original films, in which our heroes enter the digital world known as the Grid, this film features programs from the Grid arriving in the real world. It is a significant shift for Disney, as while the 1982 original Tron became a cult classic, it was not a commercial success. Neither was the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Tron films have been renowned for their distinctive scores. "You guys didn't think to reach out to, Jared? I hear he likes music as well," said Smith, referencing Leto's career as the frontman of rock band 30 Seconds to Mars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (ANI)

Taylor Swift hypes Travis Kelce's Netflix debut in Happy Gilmore 2

Taylor Swift is not just the queen of pop, she is also queen of chaotic couple support. This week, the internet exploded after Swift dropped a glowing review of boyfriend Travis Kelce's new Netflix movie Happy Gilmore 2, where things got very sticky. Taylor Swift reviews her boyfriend's Netflix movie like only she can Sharing the movie poster on Instagram Stories, the Grammy-winning singer said she was 'cackling and cheering the whole movie' and rated it a '13/10'. She did not mention Kelce by name or tag him, but fans knew exactly what was up when she dropped a single honey pot emoji. Yes, that was a direct nod to Kelce's absurd on-screen moment. Travis Kelce gets eaten by a bear covered in Honey, because why not? In one of the most unhinged cameos of the year, Kelce plays a mean restaurant boss in the sports-comedy sequel. His character gets dragged into a dream sequence where Bad Bunny ties him to a pole, paints him with honey, and lets a bear go to town on him. That is right. the Super Bowl champ got devoured by a bear while nearly naked. Taylor stans are still processing. The scene is bizarre, hilarious, and already iconic, with fans flooding TikTok and X with memes and edits of 'Honey-Travis.' No red carpet, but plenty of ring drama Kelce unfortunately missed the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere, crushing fans who were hoping for a red carpet debut with Taylor. Instead, he was busy kicking off NFL training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. But worry not, Swifties, the couple gave fans something just as juicy. Kelce posted a carousel of sweet couple pics on his Instagram grid, making their love even more official. However, eagle-eyed fans spotted something wild, his lock screen showed Taylor with her hands in the air, and some claimed she was flashing a ring. Cue the engagement rumours. Again. Is a proposal actually happening? Hard to say. But fans agree on one thing: this couple knows how to keep the internet on its toes, even if it involves bear attacks and blurry phone screens.

Jazz Singer Cleo Laine, Grammy Winner And Tony-Nominated Actress, Dies At 97

Renowned British jazz vocalist and actress Cleo Laine has passed away at the age of 97, according to a statement from her children, Jacqui and Alec, as reported by The Guardian. Known for her unmistakable voice and versatility, Laine's career spanned over seven decades, during which she collaborated with global music icons and graced both the West End and Broadway stages. Born in 1927 in a suburb of London to an English mother and Jamaican father, Laine's early life was far from glamorous. Before her rise to fame, she worked as a hairdresser, hat trimmer, and librarian. She married young in 1946 and had a son in her teenage years, but her aspirations led her down a different path. Determined to follow her dream of becoming a singer, she divorced and found her breakthrough in 1951 when she joined the band of acclaimed English saxophonist and clarinettist John Dankworth at the age of 24. At the time, she believed her name was Clementine Campbell. However, a passport application later revealed her birth certificate listed her mother's surname, Hitching. Her name, considered too long for a band poster, underwent a creative transformation. The members of the Dankworth Seven randomly selected 'Cleo" and 'Laine" from two hats, marking the beginning of her new stage identity. Laine and Dankworth married in 1958, and their home became a gathering point for international jazz stars including Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, and Lester Young. The couple's musical bond was strong, with Dankworth eventually becoming her musical director. Her international success grew through the 1960s and 70s, with highlights including a 1972 Australian tour and a Grammy-winning live performance at New York's Carnegie Hall. She also collaborated with Ray Charles on Porgy and Bess and performed alongside Frank Sinatra in 1992 at London's Royal Albert Hall. The couple built their own auditorium near London, frequently hosting concerts. Even in personal grief, Laine remained dedicated to her art as she chose to perform on the day of Dankworth's death in 2010, revealing the news only at the end of the show. May her soul rest in peace!
