African Union stresses support for inclusive Libyan political process

On the humanitarian front, the Council expressed grave concern over the abuse and violations faced by African migrants and refugees in Libya, demanding the closure of inhumane detention centers. It also called for the activation of the AU-UN-EU Tripartite Task Force on Migration and stressed the need to accelerate the opening of the African Union Liaison Office in Tripoli and the appointment of a continental Special Envoy on Migration.
