The dreamy getaways often include drifting to the glowing sunsets of Greece, northern lights of Norway or even the glowing lanterns of Vietnam streets for travellers. However, there are few hidden escapes in India itself which sets it apart from other destinations silently waiting to be discovered. The chairman of Mahindra Group has recently shared a tweet on exploring the destination stating out of the world beauty but in India itself. Anand Mahindra reveals his travel crush in India The chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra to shine light on the much recently chosen destination in India tucked away in northeast of Arunachal Pradesh - Dibang Valley. Over the weekend, he shared a photograph of this stunning landscape on X (formerly Twitter), with a short but striking caption: "Out of this world beauty… But right here in India." With that single line, Mahindra sparked a wave of interest in one of India's most secluded natural treasures; a place so unspoiled, it seems almost too beautiful to be real. Source: X What makes Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh so special In the easternmost part of Arunachal Pradesh bordering China lies Diband Valley which is one of the largest districts in India by area but still remains one of the least populated and least explored destinations in remote location, difficult terrain, and minimal infrastructure have helped preserve its untouched beauty. Dibang Valley: Unveiling the seven lakes trail and the solitude of Anini Source: Outlook Traveller Among the most enthralling experiences Dibang Valley offers Seven Lakes Trek, considered one of the best-kept secrets of the Himalayas. This high-altitude journey includes pristine wilderness to discover seven unnamed, glacial lakes, each more serene and surreal than the last. At the heart of Dibang Valley lies Anini, the district headquarters and its only significant town. Nestled between snow-clad ridges and accessible via winding roads, Anini remains isolated for most of the year due to difficult weather conditions. Despite its remoteness, Anini is the launchpad for exploring other hidden valleys and offbeat destinations in the region: Dambuen in the Dri Valley: Rich in biodiversity and tribal heritage. Mipi Circle in the Mathu Valley: A mysterious, lesser-known region that offers breathtaking wilderness. Maliney in the Talon Valley: Ideal for trekkers and cultural explorers. Anelih in the Ahi Valley: Home to dense forests and rare wildlife sightings. These places are not commercial tourist hubs but authentic wilderness escapes, perfect for adventurers and slow travellers. During these months: The skies remain clear Snow blankets the higher elevations Rivers and lakes shimmer under sunlight The landscape takes on a dramatic, cinematic quality From April to October , especially during the monsoon, the region becomes largely inaccessible due to landslides, heavy rain, and flooding . This seasonal exclusivity only enhances Dibang Valley's charm — making it feel like a once-in-a-lifetime retreat. Meet the Idu-Mishmi tribe in Dibang Valley Source: Beyond its natural beauty, Dibang Valley is also the ancestral home of the Idu-Mishmi tribe, the valley's sole indigenous community.
