When 'Together' Movie Will Be Available to Stream and How to Watch
Neon's traditional model means you're not bumping it into your queue until at least six months post-release—possibly longer, depending on licensing and platform negotiations. So if you're champing at the bit between now and the new year, you'll be catching it in theaters.

Together's aforementioned elder, Longlegs, hit theaters in July 2024, and didn't stream until February 2025. The buzz and surrounding Together could shorten that window, if the powers at be want to capitalize on the ephemeral moment.
If you're opposed to the movie theater experience, you're wrong but you're lucky. You've found yourself in the height of the streaming empire, with access to more content than ever in cinematic history. So, if you're looking for a Together vibe, but are waiting to watch Together alone, here are some sister films to consider.
David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986), stars Jeff Goldblum as a scientist whose teleportation machine merges his DNA with that of a housefly. His body begins to deteriorate, alongside his relationship with his journalist girlfriend (Geena Davis). Another '80s hit, Possession (1981) traces a crumbling marriage to its most absurd conclusion– a grotesque transformation in one of cinema's most disturbing depictions of emotional collapse.
That aforementioned Cronenberg is really the godfather of body horror and, essentially, walked so the team behind Together could run.
His most disturbing and provocative work was Crash (1996), which followed a group of people who derive sexual pleasure from car crashes and bodily trauma. Decades later, Julia Ducournau delivered a Cronenberg inspired body horror for the new age, Titane (2021) follows a woman whose traumatic head injury sparks a sexual attraction to cars.
Unhinged Jake Gyllenhaal is a cinematic subgenre at this point in history. Enter Enemy (2013), which stars the star as a reclusive professor who discovers an actor that looks exactly like him. As their lives intertwine, reality fractures, obsession deepens, and identity blurs into psychological horror.
Same, same, but different, Swallow (2019) is about a young woman who marries into wealth and develops a compulsive urge to swallow inedible objects like thumbtacks and batteries. It's a haunting meditation on the erasure of self within domestic relationships and patriarchal systems—a film where body horror is internalized and symbolic.
If you're having trouble seeing the forest for the trees, all of these movies share themes of mental or emotional strife manifesting itself in the body. Together is the latest to sew together a relationship drama with that thread.

Anyone familiar with the premise of Together, the new body horror film starring real-life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco, likely has one question on their mind entering the theater. The film culminates in an otherworldly fusing sequence—scored by The Spice Girls' "2 Become 1," naturally. And according to Shanks, that was always how Millie and Tim were going to end up—all the way back to the first draft—even down to the shots he used to show off their hideous half-fused form. "Going back and reading the first draft, I'm really pleased that I'd written into the script the camera movement, that it was just like an instinct," he told Gold Derby. "I was like, 'No matter what, with this concept, this is how it's gonna end.'" But even after such a shocking sequence, Together still has one trick up its sleeve. When Millie's parents finally arrive (Chekov's in-laws), they're greeted by an androgynous person that looks a lot like both Franco and Brie, right before the movie cuts to the credits. Upon reflection, Shanks saw similarities between Together's ending and the final moments of a film he enjoys, Dennis Villeneuve's Enemy, saying both movies ask, "What if you ended a film with a crazy visual and then cut to credits? I kind of love that as — not that it's a funny movie — a punch line. A bit like, 'What the hell?' And then the credits hit." The new hybrid character, called Tillie on set, was achieved by first applying practical effects makeup to Brie to make her resemble her husband. "The makeup team made the iconic Dave Franco eyebrows and stuck them on her and gave her contact lenses out of Dave's color," Shanks said. "And then in visual effects, we added Dave's nose and Dave's jaw to that character. So it's really an amalgamation of both of them. I love that shot. I'm so proud of that ending." You know the type. After Tim and Millie move to an isolated house in the countryside for Millie's new teaching job, the pair stumble upon a mysterious cave in the woods. Tim drinks from a pool of water before they leave the next morning. Following this night, Tim finds himself magnetically drawn toward Millie. When they make contact, their skin begins fusing together — when they wake up, after they kiss, and during sexual intercourse. Each time, they tear themselves apart (which is just as painful to watch as it sounds), not fully understanding what's going on. Eventually, Millie starts being pulled to Tim in a similar fashion, with the pair gradually losing control of their own bodies. The fusion gets more severe, with their bodies sinking into each other's whenever they make contact. The couple takes muscle relaxants to keep the transformations at bay. At one point, Millie uses an electric saw to cut their arms apart. How does 'Together' end? After she saws their arms, Millie goes to get her car keys from their new neighbor, Jamie (Damon Herriman). There, she learns that the cave was used by a cult that fuses couples together into single beings in a ritual meant to create stronger unions. Jamie himself is a result of this ritual, the fusion of two men who underwent the process. Millie returns to Tim, who attempts to commit suicide to keep things from getting worse. Before he can, Millie collapses from a wound she suffered in a confrontation with Jamie. She begins to bleed out, asking Tim to post 'brb, dying' on her social media — a callback to a conversation they had earlier after discovering the Facebook page of a couple that disappeared in the area. In a bid to save Millie's life, Tim allows their arms to fuse together, effectively stopping the bleeding in an ultimate show of commitment. Tim puts on the song '2 Become 1' by the Spice Girls (Millie's favorite band). The pair allows the process to take its course while embracing. The film concludes with Millie's parents arriving at her new house. This impending visit is alluded to throughout the movie. When they knock on the door, a previously unseen individual opens the door — the apparent result of Tim and Millie's fusion. Let's call them 'Tillie.' What does the ending mean? Like many horror movies (especially in the modern era), 'Together' has parallel functions as a frightening thrill ride and a thematic journey. Shanks' film is a transparent metaphor for commitment and codependency within romantic relationships — particularly for Tim. From the beginning of the film, Tim both struggles to commit to Millie and refuses to leave. His life feels wholly intertwined with hers, yet he expresses no desire to dive deeper into the relationship. It's not as if he dislikes Millie, or even longs to leave her. He simply feels more stuck than comfortable. Tim fears a loss of individuality, informed by a traumatic childhood event involving his parents. He manages to take steps with Millie, but anything greater would feel like a sacrifice of self. The ending of the film literalizes this idea, allowing Tim to overcome his fear by committing in the ultimate form. He sacrifices his individuality by becoming one half of a pair in the truest sense. Tim's fear of losing Millie trumps his fear of losing some perceived sense of freedom. Only one of these, Tim realizes, would be a true loss. Who plays Tillie? Given the newness of the film, it has not officially been reported who plays the fusion of Tim and Millie in the film's final scenes. No actor is listed in the credits. Since the figure at the movie's end eerily resembles both Brie and Franco, it seems likely that Tillie is a digital composite of the two actors. What happens next? It's hard to say what happens after the credits roll in 'Together.' Tim and Millie appear to have found peace as this singular individual, much the same as Jamie's two halves made a cohesive whole after undergoing the process. When Tillie answers the door, they do so in a nonchalant manner. It's unclear whether they intend to explain the situation to Millie's parents or simply say, 'I think you're at the wrong house.' Either solution feels like it's opening a can of worms. There's also the dreaded third option. In the movie's final moments, audiences see that Tillie's house now has the symbol of the body-fusing cult on their front porch (just like Jamie). This could signal that Tim and Millie are fully invested in the horror situation they've found themselves in — to the point that they're willing to put Millie's parents through the same process. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' is quickly losing steam in its second weekend, signaling the comic book adventure isn't connecting at the box office beyond the film's core demographic of superhero fans. After a healthy $117.6 million debut, 'The Fantastic Four' suffered a hefty 66% drop in its sophomore outing with $40 million from 4,125 theaters. Heading into the weekend, box office analysts anticipated a decline of 55% to 60% from its opening. This painful a fall is surprising because 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' has the benefit of positive reviews and word-of-mouth, as well as a clear runway in terms of competition. Three new movies opened nationwide but none were competing for the same audience as 'Fantastic Four.' Among new releases, Universal and DreamWorks Animation's heist comedy 'The Bad Guys 2' enjoyed the strongest start with $22.8 million from 3,852 venues. That's directly even with the first film, which opened to $23 million in 2022 at a time when cinemas were majorly struggling to recover from COVID and studios were barely releasing any movies. The original film eventually powered to $250 million worldwide. 'The Bad Guys 2,' which cost $80 million and follows a group of reformed criminals who relapse for one final con job, was embraced by audiences with an 'A' grade on CinemaScore exit polls. 'This is a good opening for an animation sequel,' says analyst David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research. 'With this kind of business, the movie is doing what it's supposed to do.'
