49ers DE Tarron Jackson hospitalized after camp collision
Per reporters at the practice, Jackson was blocked by an offensive tackle, went to the ground and did not move for a few moments before he was able to move his hands. His teammates took a knee as he was tended to, and Jackson eventually had to be taken off on a backboard.
Niners coach Kyle Shanahan said after practice that Jackson was conscious, talking and had movement in his extremities.
"We were close to him so we could hear him talking and we could see everything moving," Shanahan said. "I just told the guys that, which eases them up a little bit with the biggest fears and asked them if they were OK to continue to go. They all yelled yes and we finished the last period."

And my question is, 'Why are those mutually exclusive?' "Sure, they're different blocks on the pyramid, but they're part of the same pyramid. They're connected! For instance, I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family. I chose to do it by playing football. "My dedication to the sport, the hours of practice, the moments when I was laser focused, those were times when I believe I was doing the best possible thing for my family and my kids. "By prioritising my profession and teaching, by example, what it takes to be really good at your job, what it takes to follow through on commitments, what it takes to be a great teammate and showing them, also by example, that work is a big part of all of our lives. "Remember, your children are watching everything. They see what you do in every aspect of your life and how you do it. Reading bedtime stories and helping them with homework are not the only ways to be a great parent.' Scheffler moved himself into the headlines with his comments by saying the joy of winning a major "only lasts a few minutes" and the life of a golfer is "fulfilling from the sense of accomplishment, but it's not fulfilling from a sense of the deepest places of your heart." The four-time major winner has since admitted he regretted making those comments after his triumph at Portrush. Speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler said: "I remember walking out of that room and I'm looking at Blake, my manager, I've known since I was like 10 years old, and I'm like, 'Gosh, why did I start ranting like that.' "This is why I don't say anything, things get taken out of context. I'm just like, 'I don't know why I did that, I hope that made a little bit of sense to some people.' He was like, 'Nah it's alright, let's go.'" He also came close to making a U-turn on his comments about the joy of winning a major, adding: "But the feeling of happiness and satisfaction, being able to accomplish a lifelong dream will last for me for a long time. "It's a pretty amazing thing for me to be able to accomplish something like that, and it's something that I'm very grateful for. But,, it's not the only thing in my life. Striving to win golf tournaments as the only thing is going to lead to a lifetime of disappointment basically."

McIlroy to miss PGA Tour play-off opener
Rory McIlroy will not play in the opening play-off event of the PGA Tour season next week. The Masters champion was not listed in the field for the FedEx St Jude Championship in Memphis, which was released on Friday. Northern Ireland's McIlroy has not played since finishing tied seventh at the Open Championship at Royal Portrush last month. The tournament in Memphis will mark world number one Scottie Scheffler's return after his four-shot victory at the Open. Three-time FedEx Cup winner McIlroy, 36, struggled at the St Jude Championship last year, finishing joint second last on nine over par. The top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings after this week's Wyndham Championship will qualify for the St Memphis, the top 50 will advance to the BMW Championship in Maryland on 14-17 August. The season-ending Tour Championship, featuring the top 30 players, takes place in Atlanta the following week. McIlroy, who is second behind Scheffler in the FedEx Cup standings, is scheduled to play in the Irish Open at the K Club and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in September before returning to the United States for the Ryder Cup in New York.

World 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson arrested on alleged domestic violence charge
Reigning 100m world champion Sha'Carri Richardson was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Richardson was charged on Sunday with fourth degree domestic violence, according to the police report obtained by The Associated Press (AP). On Thursday, she ran in the opening round the women's 100m at US track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon, before withdrawing from the semi-finals. She has an automatic bye to the world championships in September in Tokyo as the defending champion. 'USATF is aware of the reports and is not commenting on this matter,' USA Track and Field said in a statement. Richardson's agent did not immediately reply to an email request for comment by AP. The police report said an officer at the airport was notified by a Transportation Security Administration supervisor of a disturbance between Richardson and her boyfriend, sprinter Christian Coleman. The report said Richardson was detained on Sunday 27 July and released the following day. In the police report, the officer said: 'I was told Coleman did not want to participate any further in the investigation and declined to be a victim.' Richardson won the 100m at the 2023 world championships in Budapest and took silver at the Paris Games last summer. She also helped the 4x100m relay team to an Olympic gold.
