Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday! In this weekly roundup, we'll give you a handful of Android wallpapers you can download and use on your phone, tablet, or even your laptop/PC. The images will come from folks here at Android Authority as well as our readers. All are free to use and come without watermarks. File formats are JPG and PNG, and we'll provide images in both landscape and portrait modes, so they'll be optimized for various screens.

Another week, another set of awesome Android wallpapers for you to share! Remember that we are always looking for submissions from our readers. Head to the bottom of this article to find out how you could have one of your images featured in an upcoming Wallpaper Wednesday!
With that in mind, we've got six awesome images from our readers that would look great on your phone, tablet, or PC. As usual, we also have three images from the Android Authority team.
First, we have a fantastic photo of a cute little kitty. That comes from reader (and frequent contributor) Kedrig Koka, who used a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra for the shoot. Next, we have a beautiful photo of a sunset over the Vietnamese city of Da Lat. That comes from frequent contributor Han Le, who used a Google Pixel 6 Pro to capture it! After that, we have a great pic of South Korea at night from reader Shaurya Mehta, who used a Nothing Phone 2! Next, we have a creative shot of a fruit called kundang, also known as plum mango. That comes from frequent contributor Cipudul and was shot on a Google Pixel 7! After that, we have a collection of masks on a table from reader Kaustav Pramanik. Finally, we have a pretty purple flower covered in morning dew from reader Kevin Philip. Kevin shot that with a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE! Thanks so much for your submissions, all!

That means photos you took, digital art you created, etc. Please don't submit other people's work — that's just not cool. Also, please don't send images purely created with AI . They will not be accepted. Images you created and then augmented with AI tools are OK.

Dominic Fike Trolled Sabrina Carpenter at Lollapalooza With ‘The Hate U Give' Clip
This year's Lollapalooza has come and gone, but Dominic Fike and Sabrina Carpenter are still a hot topic after they performed at the beloved Chicago-based music fest. Both artists took over the T-Mobile stage on Sunday, August 3, with the '3 Nights' musician scheduled right before Sabrina's headlining set. Ahead of her record-breaking performance, Dominic played a video of the multihyphenate from The Hate U Give. In the scene, her character, Hailey, makes a racially insensitive statement toward Amandla Stenberg's character, Starr. 'Starr, just pretend the ball is fried chicken,' she said in the clip, where tension heightened during a basketball game. In character, she walked back on her comment, saying, 'It's game talk.' Fans in the crowd erupted in cheers as soon as the 'Manchild' hitmaker's face came on screen, and following the quick clip came another video of Dominic. He jokingly said, 'I'm in the fucking game, bro, it's a game,' to clarify that he was running a bit. However, the comments section of a fan-posted video drew mixed reactions. 'Now she needs to play a clip from Euphoria lol,' one fan wrote, referring to his stint on the second season of the HBO series. Another added, 'Sabrina's fans crying in comments like it wasn't funny.' The Sabrina fans in question chimed in, saying, 'She's acting… in a movie... who does he think cares?' and 'Now why would he do this?' During The Hate U Give's theatrical release in 2018, Sabrina revealed what drew her to the project, which is based on Angie Thomas's novel of the same name. At the time, she told Hero magazine, 'I wanted to be a part of it in any way that I could, and I do know that it's such an important film for so many people.' As for her role as Hailey, Sabrina knew it would spark some controversy, adding, 'For my character specifically, the reason that this character exists – who is ignorant and doesn't recognise her privilege – she exists because there are people in the world like her. That's one of the reasons we really hope that people watch it.' During her interview for Cosmopolitan's 'The Breakdown' video series, Sabrina doubled down on that sentiment. 'I unfortunately played everyone's least favorite character,' she said, adding, 'It's one of the most incredible films I've ever gotten the chance to work on, so that was really special.' The artists—who each have songs titled 'Mona Lisa'—have yet to comment on the situation, if at all. After Dominic performed tracks like 'Babydoll' and debuted a new song, 'All Hands on Deck,' Sabrina closed out Lolla with an iconic headlining set featuring Chicago natives, Earth, Wind and Fire.

One UI 8 could make setting your Samsung Galaxy phone up much simpler — here's how
Usually, setting up a new phone is a pretty straightforward process, but even the best Samsung phones still have one annoying tendency when it comes to picking navigation preferences. However, that could soon change with One UI 8. In a recent report, SammyGuru discovered evidence that future releases of One UI 8 could allow users to choose between gesture and button navigation options while setting up the phone. This would give users the freedom to choose alongside the rest of set-up, rather than Samsung defaulting to the three-button option in the current version. This forces users to go into the display settings to change to gestures themselves if they wish to do so. Not only would this make setting up the phone less of a hassle, but it would also make it much easier when migrating from another brand. Currently, Samsung is one of the few brands that don't offer this option at the start, with most Android phones offering users the choice at the start. One UI 8 is in an interesting place, as most Samsung phones only have access to the beta. However, both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are now on sale with the new OS pre-installed. As such, we have a good idea of what most phones can expect when the stable version launches, which is a focus on improving the overall quality of life for Samsung users over big new features. Part of that involves noticeable improvements to features introduced in One UI 7, including changes to how useful the Now Bar is, thanks to the addition of live call handling and do-not-disturb functions to the Bar. However, not every feature we've heard of has appeared yet. For instance, there are rumors that Samsung is bringing a major improvement for Live Captions that will allow it to translate speech, matching what is available on rival devices, like Google's Pixel 9 Pro with its Live Translate feature. If you don't have one of the most recent Samsung foldables then you can download the One UI 8 beta to test many of these new features if you have a recent flagship or mid-priced Galaxy phone and live in the U.S. or U.K. Alternatively, the stable release is expected around September 2025. If you do plan on trying the beta, we'd recommend backing up your Samsung phone, as there can be issues when trying to run certain apps. Google could fix one of the most annoying things about switching from a Galaxy to a Pixel phone
Mishaal Rahman / Android Authority TL;DR Google is working on a native option for stock Android to flip the three-button navigation bar, a feature long requested by users switching from Samsung devices. This addresses a major pain point, as Samsung's default navigation layout is the reverse of stock Android's, forcing users to retrain their muscle memory. Evidence of the unreleased feature was found in an Android Canary build, but it will likely not launch until a future Android 16 quarterly update. Switching phones can be a pain, but you can do many things to make the process easier. Using a password manager and restoring backups of your important apps and files can ease the transition, but some things can't be transferred over. If you're switching from a Samsung phone to a Pixel, for example, you can't transfer many system settings because they don't exist in stock Android. A particularly notable example is Samsung's flipped three-button navigation bar. Its omission in stock Android forces users to retrain their muscle memory for the swapped back and recents buttons. Thankfully, Google may finally address this pain point by adding an option to flip the navigation bar in stock Android. You're reading an Authority Insights story. Android's on-screen three-button navigation scheme has been around since Android 4.0's release in 2011, and it has always consisted of these three buttons from left to right: Back, Home, and Recents. Samsung phones, however, flip this order, placing the Back button on the right and the Recents button on the left. This makes sense for brand consistency, as older Samsung phones with physical keys also had the back key on the right. Even though Samsung provides the option to change the button order or switch to gesture navigation, most of its users stick with the default. Google, however, doesn't provide a native option to flip the buttons. This is a point of frustration for many people who switch from Samsung devices to phones with stock or near-stock versions of Android, like Sony Xperia devices or Google Pixel phones. Back in early 2023, Sony engineers submitted code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to add a setting that would swap the Back and Recents buttons, but they abandoned the patches this April. At the time, we thought Google had rejected the feature, but it seems we were wrong. We've spotted evidence that Google is now working on an option to flip the navigation bar, though we probably won't see the feature go live for at least a few months. While digging through the latest Android Canary release, I spotted code for a new feature that swaps the order of the Back and Recents buttons in the three-button navigation bar. It isn't enabled yet, and there's no user-facing toggle for it, but the code's purpose is clear. Although the feature can't be activated yet, the change itself is easy to visualize. Here's what the navigation bar will look like once this option is available: Mishaal Rahman / Android Authority Since this feature isn't available yet, we don't have a timeline for when it'll go live. This shouldn't be a particularly difficult feature for Google to implement, but the company also needs to test it, decide where to place the toggle, create an illustration, and translate the text strings, among other things.
