Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has announced the launch of a new home delivery permit service for food and non-food delivery businesses, effective July 1, 2025.
The permits will be issued via the Balady platform.
The initiative is part of the Kingdom's broader efforts to improve quality of life and enhance safety and regulatory standards in the delivery sector.
It aims to organise delivery operations within cities by ensuring that businesses meet specific health and technical requirements, thereby fostering a safer and more efficient service environment that boosts consumer confidence.
To qualify for the permit, businesses must meet several criteria, including: Obtaining health certification for all home delivery personnel
Securing approval from the authority responsible for the relevant commercial activity
Displaying the establishment's name or brand on delivery vehicles
Ensuring that vehicles meet technical and health standards for safe transport of goods
The ministry will carry out field inspections to ensure compliance and take regulatory action against violators.
Business owners can apply for the home delivery permit through the Balady platform.

Giga projects in spotlight Cityscape Global has become synonymous with the scale and ambition of Saudi Arabia's real estate strategy. Alongside the Kingdom's showcase of flagship developments, the 2025 event will welcome over 70 international developers and 20,000 global attendees. Prominent brands confirmed for the exhibition include Qatari Diar, JLL, Raffles Residences Diriyah, Hovnanian Real Estate, and BID 3D Models. This year's conference will also spotlight urban innovation and smart design through four key forums: the Future of Living Summit, the DnA Stage for developers and architects, the Innovation Arena for PropTech startups, and ESTAAD, a new platform focused on the international stadiums, sports and entertainment infrastructure ecosystem. Backed by vision Speaking about the significance of the event, His Excellency Majed bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing, said Cityscape Global supports efforts to 'develop integrated urban communities, improve the quality of life, and drive sustainable economic growth' in alignment with Vision 2030. Faisal Al-Khamissi, Chairman of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, added that last year's edition saw transactions exceed $61 billion with participation from 121 countries, reinforcing Cityscape's rising global stature. He expressed confidence that 2025 would deliver even greater outcomes for developers and investors worldwide. A global cast This year's speaker lineup includes former Melbourne mayor Sally Capp, global ConTech investor Darren Bechtel, architect Stefano Boeri, former New York Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver, and Anil Erdem of BentallGreenOak. Their participation reflects the event's global positioning and thought leadership profile. Participating countries include the USA, China, India, the UK, Italy, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan, underscoring the breadth of international engagement. Developers such as Ajdan, Dar wa Emaar, Al Majdiah, OSUS, and Mohammed Al Habib are among those confirmed as Diamond Partners. With Vision 2030 deadlines approaching, Cityscape Global 2025 presents Saudi Arabia as a force not just in urban design but in economic diplomacy and global real estate leadership.

Global project management experts set for major Saudi forum

Leading global players in project management sector and other industry leaders will be in Riyadh next month for the Global Project Management Forum (GPMF), where they will explore how emerging technologies, agile practices, and human capital are reshaping the future of project delivery across sectors. One of the region's largest industry events, GPMF 2025, will run from May 17 to 19 under the theme 'Next-Gen Project Management: The Power of People, Processes and Technology.' Held under the patronage of Housing and Municipal Affairs Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al Hogail, the three-day show will draw over 13,000 participants including project management professionals, government officials and industry leaders. It is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Roads General Authority, and the Project Development Company. Set to be the largest and most transformative yet, the Forum aims to unite global visionaries, cutting-edge innovators, and strategic decision-makers for three days of insight, inspiration and innovation. More than 100 speakers from government, giga-projects, technology, and finance sector will at the event including Lee R. Lambert, the Co-founder of the PMP certification; Americo Pinto, the Managing Director of PMO Global Alliance at PMI; Alex Osterwalder, an author, speaker, consultant and entrepreneur in addition to former Austrian minister Margarete Schramboeck and Saudi Arabia's first female skydiver Razan Al Ajmmi. On the opening day of GPMF 2025, paid masterclasses will offer training in agile transformation, stakeholder management, project finance and other key areas aimed at building future-ready project capabilities. "It is more than a forum - it's a catalyst for progress," remarked Badr Burshaid, the Chairman of the Global Project Management Forum. "Together with global pioneers, we are not just discussing the future of project management - we are shaping it," he stated.
