Motley Crue Rocker Reveals Why Band Didn't Perform at Ozzy Osbourne's Farewell Show
On July 11, a fan on X asked Motley Crue founding member Nikki Sixx, 'Motley Crue wasn't invited to perform at Black Sabbath's farewell? Would you have liked to have been there?'
Sixx replied, "We have been having health issues within the band."
The bassist did not elaborate on the health issues, but in March, Motley Crue posted to Instagram to announce that lead singer Vince Neil, 64, underwent a "required medical procedure,' forcing a postponement of the band's planned spring Las Vegas Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
At the time, bandmates Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and John 5 added, 'Please join us in wishing Vince a speedy recovery. We are looking forward for him to get well again and to take over Vegas together in September. We can't wait to see you all out there, and thank you for your understanding and support in the meantime."
While bands such a Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Alice in Chains all paid tribute to Osbourne and Black Sabbath at Back to the Beginning, Sixx posted a congratulatory message after the show and noted that Osbourne and his wife played a pivotal role in Motley Crue's success.
"Ozzy and Sharon gave us our first real big tour in 1984 on the Shout at the Devil tour," Sixx wrote on X on July 7. 'They gave us the opportunity to play in front of Ozzy and actually in my opinion, broke the band. Congratulations on an amazing career and what a bad-a-- send off. Thank you with love.'
While Sixx offered an explanation for his band's absence from Back to the Beginning, some fans have speculated that Motley Crüe is the mystery band that was disinvited from the event. Just ahead of the show, Sharon Osbourne told Billboard she removed one big-name group from the lineup because they 'wanted to make a profit' from the charity event.
'And it's not the time to make a profit,' she said. 'After the show, I'll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked.'
The Back to the Beginning charity concert raised more than $190 million to support Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorn Children's Hospice.Motley Crue Rocker Reveals Why Band Didn't Perform at Ozzy Osbourne's Farewell Show first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 12, 2025

Nanny Feels Obligated to Cancel Her Plans After Parents Need Her to Watch Their Son While They Go on a 12-Day Trip
"I have a life of my own," the frustrated woman said A nanny is upset that the parents she works for have asked her to take care of their son for nearly two weeks while they go on vacation, despite her already having plans. The woman detailed her situation on the U.K.-based community website Mumsnet in a post titled "Nanny Dilemma." Explaining that she is currently an aide to a 12-year-old boy, whom she calls 'the sweetest child you'd ever come across," the woman said she has been working for his parents for six years. And though she wrote that the mom and dad have always treated her 'very well," the woman said they recently asked her to take care of their son full-time for 12 days straight while they are away, and now she's unsure whether she should cancel her pre-existing plans or set a boundary and say no. 'I have never minded helping them out in the past [for] a few days here and there, [but] I don't feel ... they realize that I have a life of my own, and them dragging me away from it can be a huge inconvenience at times,' the woman said. She added that she often gets the feeling that the boy's parents aren't interested in the full scope of their parenting responsibilities. 'It seems like [his] mom and dad do not want him, or only want him with them when it's convenient for them,' she wrote, even highlighting that she is the one who typically attends parent functions at the child's school. 'I feel as [though] they believe showering him with the most expensive gifts, ludicrous clothing brands and the latest gadgets makes up for the time unspent with him, and I just can't understand why they don't want to bring him along with them on their holiday,' the woman continued. According to the Mumsnet user, she already has plans during the time the boy's parents will be away, but now she feels as though her 'only option' is 'to cancel them.' 'If I say no, I am instantly going to feel guilty, and they will probably try and palm him off with someone else,' she said, adding that she doesn't want the young child 'to feel unwanted.' The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Asking on the website, 'What would you do if you were in my situation?' — the woman was met with support from others, who think she should set a firm boundary with the boy's parents. 'I would say no. You have other plans, and this is a massive ask of you. You are NOT the boy's mother. They are putting you in the position of being so. Which is unfair on you but especially unfair on him,' one person said. However, a number of other members said they would try to change their personal plans, if at all possible. 'It's a bit heartbreaking,' one person said. 'I think I'd be inclined to rearrange if you can — for his sake, but I would make it very clear to them you are having to do this, and ask for any financial loss to be covered.' Another wrote, 'I would look after the boy, but of course for a much higher amount of money than usual. Not out of sheer greed, but night nannying has to be paid too, as anything can happen during the night and then you'll have to deal with the situation.' 'If you're able to rearrange your plans, I would, but you shouldn't really have to, so I can see why you wouldn't want to do this,' added one more user. 'Perhaps you could share [his] care with whoever else they may have lined up for the 12 days,' they continued. Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword

Taylor Swift to 'take the high road' over Denise Welch jibes
Taylor Swift plans to 'take the high road' after being slammed by ex-boyfriend Matt Healy's mother Denise Welch. The 35-year-old superstar and the 36-year-old 1975 frontman briefly dated following her split from actor Joe Alwyn, in April 2023 and Taylor went on to reference their relationship in her album The Tortured Poets Department. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Matt's mother Denise insisted it was unfair that Matt couldn't talk about the relationship. She said: 'Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad I lost. 'Not that I have anything against [Taylor] at all! It was just – it was tricky. 'Listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she [Taylor] writes a whole album about it.' However, Taylor – who has been happily dating NFL star Travis Kelce for the past few years - plans to ignore Denise's jibes. A source told 'It's a bit obnoxious in Taylor's eyes, but she has to take the high road. 'If there was anything that would be in a future song of Taylor's – if she were ever to respond – she would respond that way. But as of right now, she might just let it slide. She is not going to let Denise ruin her day. 'Taylor respected Denise and will continue to do so, as this will go away very quickly. 'But if Denise continues to talk about it and bash Taylor, then Taylor would say something. The ball is still in Denise's court to see if she wants to continue the narrative she brought upon herself.'

Second day of York Racecourse's Music Showcase brings excitement
IT'S amazing to think that Ronan Keating first hit the headlines in 1993 when still a teenager with the formation of Boyzone. His worldwide fan club, based not only on his music but also as a judge on X Factor is one of music's largest and the fact he plays the Knavesmire on the second leg of a world tour- and this is one of just two in the UK- is a considerable coup for the York Racecourse team. His appearance on stage after the last race, will be a memorable climax to the Music Showcase weekend which also brings the Sky Bet Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival to a climax. York took the decision a month or so ago to increase the prize money on their two featured Saturday races, and they have been handsomely rewarded with, just like Friday night in excess of 100 runners declared. The £150,000 Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes (2.40pm) is seen as a stepping stone to next month's Group 1 Juddmonte International, which was voted the worlds best race in 2024 being run over the same mile and a quarter distance. This race was first run in 2006 and Twice Over, who won in 2011 is the only one to have completed the double, while Alflailia became the first horse to win this race twice when beating Kings Gambit and Passenger a year ago. Amazingly no jockey, so far, has won it more than once. A top-class field of seven line up headed by Almaqam who was last seen winning the Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown in May. The race is a clash of the generations with three-year-old Stanhope Gardens, fifth in the Derby at Epsom and Irish raider Green Impact, sixth in the Irish Derby at The Curragh heading the younger age bracket. The £100,000 Sky Bet Dash (2.00pm), has attracted a maximum 22 runner field- but all eyes will be on Elmonjed, trained by Yorkshireman-in-exile William Haggas who won the equally valuable Constantine Handicap at last year's Sky Bet Ebor Festival. A draw in Stall 10 will only offer encouragement for his supporters. The second big sprint is unique as the jump jockeys, used to three miles plus around Aintree, Cheltenham and more locally at Wetherby, get their chance to exit from the stalls in the Jump Jockeys Nunthorpe (3.20pm) to face the shortest distance possible, just five furlongs. 20 of them will test this new skill to including Joe Williamson aboard Soul Seeker- first and second in this race for the last two years. York record holder, Copper Knight, is to be ridden by Jamie Hamilton, who tries to land his 8th victory on the Knavesmire at the thirty-third time of asking. Racing begins at 1.25pm with all the York facilities open for business, be it the new areas for food and drink in the Bustardthorpe End or in the centre of the course for picnics. But one thing is sure, the sporting action may well be a roller coaster that will all help build the atmosphere pending Mr Keating's arrival.
