Chilling video shows King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss' final moments

Daily Mail05-06-2025
Holding a pitchfork and shouting about deportations, King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss can be seen in newly surfaced video in a confrontation with neighbors moments before he was shot and killed.
Residents of the south San Antonio area where Joss lived appeared to question him for wildly waving a pitchfork as he was walking down the street in footage obtained by local TV station KSAT.
'I'm walking down the street. I'm rehearsing. I'm in movies, man. I'm rehearsing a scene,' responded the man best known for voicing the character John Redcorn in the animated show.
Joss, 59, died after being shot by his neighbor, Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, Sunday in Texas, the local cops stated.
An arrest report from the San Antonio Police Department obtained by DailyMail.com states Alvarez uttered 'I shot him' as he was detained by arresting officers.
Prior to the shooting, Joss' public spectacle attracted the attention of many residents, including the woman who shot the argument on her phone.
'What's it feel like bro,' a man can be heard saying to Joss.
'Pulling a gun on somebody- that's reason for deportation, man,' the actor replied.
The San Antonio Police Department had been called to Joss' home 70 times over the two years, Chief William McManus told the media Thursday at a press conference.
'Sometimes he was the caller; other times the neighbors were calling on him,' McManus shared.
A feud between Joss and Alvarez had gone on for some time, forcing the involvement of the San Antonio Fear Free Environment – a police unit tasked with crime prevention.
A police mental health unit had also had 'extensive' contact with Joss, the police chief said.
Joss's husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, told the Independent that the couple had been the subject of harassment for years because of their sexuality.
While initially denying that Joss's death was connected to his sexuality, McManus repeatedly said Thursday he 'shouldn't have done it.'
'That was way, way, way premature,' the chief stated. 'We shouldn't have done it. It was way too soon before we had any real information, and I will own that.'
McManus added what role of the actor's sexuality may have played in his death is now a factor in the investigation, which is still on-going.
'That is part of the investigation and whatever we find out, we will turn over to the package we give to the district attorney's office,' the top cop stated.
The issue of potential hate crime charges was also addressed by the chief, explaining his investigators would gather evidence of a hate crime, but ultimately, a district attorney would use the evidence in elevating charges if they were motivated by a person's race, religion or sexual orientation.
'In Texas hate crimes are not separate charges. Instead they are addressed through sentencing enhancements,' McManus explained.
'If a second-degree is eventually designated as a hate crime, then that would bump up to a first-degree felony.'
Alvarez bonded out of jail Wednesday on a $200,000 bond.

Victoria's Secret vet Karolina Kurkova, 41, still looks sensational... see her now

Karolina Kurkova was one of the top models for Victoria's Secret in the 1990s. The looker also appeared on the cover of Vogue dozens of times. Then she took a break from working so she could bring up her three children - daughter Luna, and sons Noah and Tobin - whom she shares with her husband since 2009, Archie Drury. Now she is back to working full-time. Earlier this week the 41-year-old proved she still looks sensational as she stopped by the Freakier Friday premiere in Los Angeles. The catwalk queen appeared radiant in a bright green mini dress with matching strappy heels and a cute structured purse. Her flaxen hair was worn down and stick straight. Last year the dynamo talked to about the highs and lows of her career which included starting work at age 15, the awkwardness of posing in lingerie at age 16, realizing at age 24 she had gained 30lbs from a thyroid disease called Hashimoto's, to becoming a family woman. 'I never thought I would be famous like this. I never thought it would happen to me. It just blows my mind and it still incredible what a career I have been lucky to have,' Karolina told in the exclusive interview. Oddly, at first the star said she was not top model material. 'I was also told my nose was too pointy and my legs were too long, but Anna Wintour was the one who said I is going to be a supermodel. She had faith in me and I love her for that,' said Karolina. Famed photographer Mario Testino also said the 'proportions of her body and her face, as well as her energy level' were the best. Kurkova has now signed with Ford Models and will be working more often. 'Now that my kids are older, I'm excited to get back in the game. I have a new agent and I'm looking forward to doing some fun projects because I love staying busy,' said the 5ft11in star. Karolina started working at a very young age. 'My dad would drive me to casting starting at age 15. It was so exciting for me,' she cooed. And she took modeling seriously: 'I wanted to be the best at modeling. I wanted to give my heart and soul and I was really lucky to have my dad there to keep an eye out for me,' said the siren. 'It was such a change for me because when I was at school, I was so different. I was the goofy one,' she shared. 'It was overwhelming for me at first to try to look sexy,' she said; she was only 15. 'I created a character to play when I was walking on the runway posing for the cameras because it was not the real me - I was more sporty than sultry in real life,' said Kurkova. But she had a big surprise when she was only 16 years old and modeling very tiny pieces of lingerie for Victoria's Secret. 'It was strange for me to model lingerie at that young age. I had been an athlete. I was a gymnast and I was used to being very strong, but I wasn't used to being a sexy girl on stage. I had to be sensual on the runway at 16, it was weird,' she noted. 'I didn't really feel my legs were too long so it was a big leap for me at age 16 figure out how I was going to central on stage,' she added. 'It was a process for me to find that I had to find the courage to go on stage and look that way.' Growing up in the Czech Republic, teens did not dress sexy and act sexual at the time, she explained, like they did in the US. Karolina also said she was lucky that she didn't have any issues while working for Victoria's Secret because her father was always by her side. 'My parents always after me they always took care of me and I never had any problems. That's the way it is was; my family stays together and they look out for each other, which was great. I was lucky I got to have my dad there.' Karolina also said her favorite shoot was for Vogue shoot when she dressed up like Marilyn Manson. The siren had very white skin and dark hair and was completely unrecognizable. And another favorite shoot was for Valentino when she held up photos. She also told about a big bump in the road for her. 'I was 24 and I was told to slow down because I wasn't looking so healthy,' she began. 'It was strange for her because I wanted to work and I was so used to working hard and being busy, but I was told to take a break. 'I was under a lot of stress. I had already been modeling for almost 10 years. I didn't have time to self reflect. I just didn't know that I looked bad,' she said. 'Someone had to tell me I needed to take a break. 'I was eating healthy and exercising so I went to a doctor and I was told I have Hashimoto's disease. It's a thyroid problem and stress triggers. Working under pressure makes it worse. I had gained 30lbs.' She then went on a Wellness Journey and got much better: 'I studied nutrition, did yoga, ready about sleep and meditation, I did it all.' And Karolina said she as surprised she could get pregnant. 'I was really lucky that I got pregnant naturally because it's very hard for a woman to get pregnant when she has Hashimoto's Disease. You have a thyroid issue and thank God that worked out for me,' she said; she has three kids with Drury, who is a producer on the film Sound Of Freedom from 2023 and the documentary Voices Of Iraq. The catwalk queen looked radiant in a bright green mini dress with matching strappy heels and a cute structured purse. Her flaxen hair was worn down and stick straight Now self care is a top priority for Karolina. 'I am very healthy all the time I have green juices. I eat a lot of vegetables and I only have pizza and pasta once in a while. I love it, but I can't eat it too often, it is a treat,' she noted. 'I got more spiritual outside of New York City, and I started to spend more time in nature, too, that helps end stress. I found a balance on my wellness journey. I realize I need to be outdoors and relax. 'I'm also very careful with my skin. I love to do lymphatic massage, sculpting, rollers, facemask, and eye patches. I also use red light therapy and I lie down on an amethyst matt; I've been doing that for a long time and it's really relaxing to meditate on.' And she exercises constantly. 'As far as working out, I do work out about 30 to 40 minutes every day I use a rowing machine and I love to go to classes because they play music. I also go on power walks and I walk my dog to the park and this is something that most models won't say, but I love housework. I always have. I love to clean the dishes and make sure they're perfect and make sure the house is nice and clean with no dust, pushing a vacuum cleaner,' she laughed. 'Used to be a professional gymnast so I'm used to exercises, I like to keep moving moving.' She feels very positive about her 40s. 'I can't wait to get back to modeling. I also want to do some producing and hosting. I think it would be so fun to work in front of the camera again on a TV show,' said the cover girl. 'And I would like to do something with my kids one day, I want a family business so we can all work together.'

Harry Styles has launched sex toys – here's what to know

Breaking the mould of celebrity beauty brands (see Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez), Harry Styles has unveiled his latest business venture: sex toys. The singer launched his unisex lifestyle brand Pleasing in 2021. In the years since, he's sold an eclectic mix of nail polishes, hand creams, apparel, accessories, skincare sets, and fragrances. Now, he's dipping his toe into the sexual wellness world with two new products: a double-sided vibrator (£68) and pleasing lube (£25). In the teaser clip on Instagram, Styles' voiceover says: 'Please yourself like you mean it.' Naturally, the announcement has sent fans of the former One Direction singer into a frenzy. In the comments, one writes: 'Does the vibrator come with this message playing on loop? Asking for a friend.' Another reads: 'My body's jumped right OUT of menopause.' Styles isn't the first celebrity to tap into this industry – Lily Allen famously launched a sell-out sex toy line with Womaniser, while Dakota Johnson is creative co-director of the sexual wellness brand Maude. The Pleasing launch is set to further tackle the taboo around women taking control of their own pleasure. In fact, the brand will continue to develop products in the sexual wellness space, including a collaboration with Planned Parenthood Federation of America, launching condoms and creating educational videos. Here's everything you need to know about Harry Styles's new range of sex toys. Pleasing designed its sex toy in collaboration with sex educator (and self-confessed 'dildo duchess') Zoë Ligon. While we're yet to test this vibrator, it's said to cater for a range of bodies, sexualities and desires. The double-sided toy features a rounded head for external use, with the handle doubling up as an insertable vibrator. It also has seven speed settings and two motors, and is water-resistant (but don't take it in the bath as it can't be submerged). Talking about the launch on the brand's website, Ligon said it's 'a great toy for both those new to sex toys and experienced users alike; it's versatile, offers many ways to play'. You can sign up for a notification when the sex toy is available to buy. Pleasing has also launched a silicone lube, which is FDA-approved and is compatible with most condoms and non-silicone sex toys. We're yet to test the product, so we can't vouch for its efficacy, but it's said to offer long-lasting moisture and a smooth glide. Of course, it's bottled up in Pleasing's signature stylish aesthetic.

Oprah Winfrey slammed over 'obnoxious' and 'rude' act while watching Gayle King's Broadway debut

Oprah Winfrey has ignited criticism for watching Gayle King 's Broadway debut via FaceTime, with many furious that she flouted theater etiquette. CBS Mornings presenter Gayle, 70, lit up the stage as a bird lady in the beloved musical The Lion King's opening number on Thursday night. She was also joined by her colleague Adam Glassman, who played the back end of a rhino as part of their Oprah Daily series, The Adventures of Adam and Gayle. Oprah, 71, watched the spectacular sequence via FaceTime thanks to a member of the team filming in the audience, a move which irked social media users. In an upload shared by multiple accounts, including CBS Morning and Oprah Daily, Oprah could be seen on the screen as someone held the phone up to show Gayle in the middle of the performance. Although the social media post did stress that special permission to record had been granted, social media users were frustrated all the same. 'No phones are allowed during a performance,' one barked. 'It's rude, obnoxious and very narcissistic.' Another asked: 'So using a phone during a performance is fine because it's @oprah? Listen, I love Oprah but it's disrespectful theatre etiquette. 'They literally make announcements before the show that using your phone during a performance is prohibited.' A third continued: 'Love how they disclosed with "special permission" as if Oprah has "special privileges." Where did courtesy go?' 'I don't care who you are, stop using your phone in the theatre,' added another. Many were also irritated that Gayle and Adam were able to participate in the performance in the first place. 'Money can just buy anything,' one snapped. 'I can't wait until I'm a celebrity so I don't have to audition for CATS the musical like a normal person who studied musical theatre at university,' another said. Referring to Gayle's controversial space trip on Blue Origin, a third wrote: 'So, let me get this straight. Gayle became an "astronaut" and a Broadway performer in the same year? WTH?' Despite the swell of criticism, others were simply glad to see Gayle thriving on stage. Taking to Instagram, one noted: 'Gayle just living her best life... Always finding her in unexpected places she reminds me of Waldo, you never know where she may pop up next.' Regardless of the commentary from social media users, Gayle was delighted that she was able to join the cast of The Lion King on stage. Unpacking the bucket list moment on Friday's episode of CBS Mornings, she described the experience as 'so fun.' Gayle added: 'No one's going to be asking us back, but we are so thankful.' She then shared: 'During rehearsal I actually fell, full face plant going up the steps.' In a video uploaded days ahead of her big break, Gayle revealed: 'I've seen it nine times but never in a gazillion years did I think I would ever have the opportunity to be in The Lion King in any way, shape or form. But that is changing this week!' Gayle's foray onto Broadway comes after she and Oprah attended the controversial wedding of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos last month. She also spent 11 minutes in space along with Lauren, singer Katy Perry, and others, in an all-woman mission in May.
