Lewis Capaldi's comeback delights fans who all say the same thing ahead of surprise Glastonbury set
The singer released his new song Survive at midnight on Thursday.
Lewis Capaldi last night announced his brand new single Survive after a two year music hiatus. The shock news has delighted the Scots crooner's loyal fans.
Rumours had been swirling of a comeback from the star following several big clues in the past 24 hours. The 28-year-old has been taking a break from music for the past two years.
It came after he broke down on stage during his Glastonbury set at Worthy Park in 2023 whilst struggling with his Tourette's Syndrome.
And last night, the Scots singer took to Instagram to release a snippet of the song and penned: "it's been a while… link in bio."
And fans were absolutely over the moon with his return and flocked to the comments.
One wrote: "Welcome back Lewis, you've been so missed. Best of luck for the future, we can't wait to see what's next in store for you."
Another said: "Welcome back. The return of 'That Capaldi fella''. While someone else added: "you've been so missed. We are all exactly where you left us."
Another commented: "Not me literally tearing up when I see a post from you again. I've missed you, but thank you for putting yourself first. Welcome back."
In the song, Lewis references his mental health challenges of self-doubt and despair, Lewis, 28, sings, 'How long 'til it feels, Like I'm more than a spoke in a wheel?
'Most nights I fear that I'm not enough. I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up. But when hope is lost. And I come undone, I swear to God I'll survive, If it kills me to, I'm gonna get up and try, if it's the last thing I do.
He then comes out swinging in a chorus full of defiance with the line, 'I swear to God I'll survive, if it kills me to, I'm gonna' get up and try, if it's the last thing I'll do.
'I've still got something to give, Though it hurts sometimes, I'm gonna get up and live, Until the day that I die.'
Lewis' new tune comes as many are speculating that he is set to play a surprise set at Glastonbury Festival this weekend.
Two years ago, the singer had visibly struggled throughout his performance at Britain's biggest festival, with loyal fans helping him to finish his songs.
Mysterious billboards have appeared at a station close to Glastonbury in Somerset and another in Glasgow City Centre with messages that are said to be lyrics in Lewis' new track.
The song was also leaked on TikTok, with the billboard message 'I refuse to spend my best years rotting in the sun' aligning with the lyrics in the track.
Lewis is thought to be making his Glastonbury comeback on Friday evening in the secret slot after Canadian star Alanis Morrisette performs on the Pyramid Stage.
