Ed Sheeran will need bodyguards until he dies

Ed Sheeran is convinced his family will need round-the-clock security protection until he dies. The pop star - who lives on a sprawling estate in Suffolk with his wife Cherry and their two children - has round-the-clock security protection in place and he's convinced they will need bodyguards "until I pass away" because of the "sinister" incidents that have taken place. During an appearance on Australia's 60 Minutes show, Ed explained: "It's things that people don't really even take into account. "Like kidnap threats and s*** like that. We've had attempted break-ins, things left on my car. It's way more sinister than just fans turning up and wanting selfies. "We have a level of security that probably won't change until I pass away. That's just our life now." Ed went on to confess he's also had some ugly rows with fans who have tried to take pictures while he's with his kids, Lyra, four, and Jupiter, three. He added: "I've had some real arguments before. I'm fine with taking pictures, but I just think it's weird with a four-year-old and a three-year-old ... "To be within the public sphere, you have to take it all, the good and the bad. But I think I would definitely want a more normal life for my kids ... "I want to still tour and have people come to the gigs and yes, I still want to make records and write songs every day. "But there's just a new set of challenges that I want to explore now, and that is having a family and being a dad." Ed previously revealed he stepped up security measures to protect his family after a "couple of weird things" have happened including an attempted break-in. During an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Ed explained: "I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids. "I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened.' Just so you know there's lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know a break-in attempt. "In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye." Ed also revealed he rarely takes his children on outings in public because he's so concerned about them being photographed. He added: "I'm very, very private about my children's image ... I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them. "There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know? ... "People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that."

Revealing that he was just 13 years old when he saw Blunt perform live at the exact same stadium while opening for over twenty years ago, Sheeran recalled being instantly "obsessed" with Blunt's music. "My dad took me to Cambridge junction to see him months after, and he became my favourite singer songwriter," Sheeran wrote of Blunt. "His songs moulded me, his performing inspired me." Sheeran said he "wanted to be" just like Blunt so much that he even went on to sign with the same management and record label as Blunt, and the pair have now been friends for "well over a decade." Sheeran, who is even a godfather to one of Blunt's sons, said the "You're Beautiful" singer is one of his "close mates" now, which is why he asked him to perform at his final show in Ipswich on Sunday night. "I asked him to do the final night at ipswich because of that gig 21 years ago where I saw him at the same venue," Sheeran recalled. "And I asked him to sing my favourite songs of his tonight, because he, and the song, mean so much to me." He then told Blunt, "Thank you James for coming today. I know you finished your South American tour two days ago, and you should be resting, but you flew to ipswich to sing with me. And it meant the world." The "Shivers" singer said his duet with Blunt is now in his "Top 3 favourite moments on stage of all time." He concluded his post by adding, "Don't meet your hero's, unless your hero's are James blunt. Love you mate xx."Ed Sheeran Brings Out Early '2000s Icon in Surprise Concert Moment first appeared on Parade on Jul 14, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 14, 2025, where it first appeared. 50 years ago, Jimmy Page gave a guitar away for free in a magazine competition – now it's expected to fetch over $67,000 at auction

An electric guitar that was given away by Jimmy Page as a competition prize over 50 years ago could fetch over $67,000 (£50,000) at auction. The 1957 Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120 was bought by Page in Nashville for £200 in 1972, as per a cover interview with the New Musical Express – the magazine that first ran the competition. The guitar was won by Charles Reid of Hornsey, North London, after correctly matching six guitars with the famous guitar players who owned them. Back then, Reid was quoted as saying (as per The Independent), 'Page must be mental giving away such a terrific guitar as this. It's the kind of instrument that every guitar player dreams of owning but can never really afford.' Reid kept the guitar until September 1990 and later went on to sell it to Phil O'Donoghue – a guitarist in a '70s band called Wild Angels – for £2,000. O'Donoghue kept the prized instrument until his death earlier this year, and it's now being sold by his family. Considering its Page connection, the Gretsch is expected to sell for anywhere between $40,359 and $67,265 (£30,000 and £50,000) when it's auctioned off on September 9. 'It's no exaggeration to say that Jimmy Page is a legendary guitarist and rock star," comments auctioneer Luke Hobbs from Gardiner Houlgate, the auction house in charge of the sale. 'Very few of his guitars come up for auction, and when they do, they attract huge interest from collectors, investors, and fans of Led Zeppelin. "What's so wonderful about this guitar is that we have the copies of the New Musical Express showing the competition and even a photo of Page giving the guitar to the winner, Charles Reid.' Speaking of Jimmy Page, the Led Zeppelin guitarist recently announced the Sundragon Nymph, the boutique, Page-co-founded brand's smallest-footprint, low-wattage combo. Solve the daily Crossword

'Harry Potter' Star Set To Appear in Ed Sheeran's Latest Music Video

'Harry Potter' Star Set To Appear in Ed Sheeran's Latest Music Video originally appeared on Parade. Ed Sheeran announced some exciting news for fans on Monday morning. The English pop singer took to Instagram to share that his upcoming single 'A Little More' will drop this Thursday, and the video will star Rupert Grint, the beloved actor known for his role as Ron Weasley in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The duo first teased that something was in the works last Thursday on Instagram, sending fans into a frenzy. Sheeran and Grint have long been linked in pop culture thanks to their striking resemblance and similar ginger hair — a running joke among fans. Back in 2011, the 36-year-old actor famously appeared in Sheeran's "Lego House" music video, which quickly became a fan favorite. "14 years later me and @rupertgrint are reunited. I had this wild idea after writing the song, and thankfully rupert was up for it," the 34-year-old singer wrote. "It's an utterly bonkers video for a very upbeat, fun, but angry song. Think this one is gonna be a lot of people's fav song from Play. Out Thursday, watch out for more stuff coming x." Not only is Sheeran gearing up to release his eighth studio album Play, on Sept. 12, but the 'Photograph' singer has also been on his +−=÷× Tour since 2022, returning to Europe for another leg this summer. Over the past three months, he has also dropped multiple singles ahead of the album, including 'Azizam,' 'Old Phone' and two versions of 'Sapphire,' one featuring Indian composer Arijit Singh. Fans can watch the "A Little More" music video, starring Grint, when it premieres this Thursday.'Harry Potter' Star Set To Appear in Ed Sheeran's Latest Music Video first appeared on Parade on Aug 4, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared.
