Strictly Come Dancing alum Jo Wood has voiced her concerns about contemporary beauty trends, suggesting we've "lost our way". The ex-partner of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood aired her views at the launch event for her debut novel, 'The Resurrection Of Flo'.
Jo, who strutted her stuff on the dance floor in the seventh series of Strictly with pro dancer Brendan Cole in 2009, was the sixth celebrity to be voted off after a dance-off against Jade Johnson and Ian Waite.
Chatting with Richard Eden from the Daily Mail, the 70-year-old businesswoman and author of a memoir shared her disapproval of today's beauty ideals, and it seems she's not a fan of the "cosmetic stuff".
Jo remarked: "I wouldn't go crazy with cosmetic stuff. It's really important that women should look natural. We've all gone too far."

She continued: "I see photos of women online and I think we've lost our way. Beauty should be natural. Young women now especially all look the same because of all the filler."
Jo's marriage to the rock icon spanned nearly a quarter of a century, from 1985 until their split in 2011, and together, they have two children, Leah and Tyrone, as well as her son Jamie from her previous marriage to Peter Greene.
These days, Jo has swapped the rock 'n' roll lifestyle for tranquillity in her Northamptonshire cottage, where she lives sustainably by producing her own electricity and growing her own veg.
She previously revealed her significant lifestyle shift, saying: "I could drink all night, suffer the next day and not touch a drop for a few days. I never had a problem with it. I used to smoke a joint every evening and then one day I thought 'No, I don't want this any more' and stopped. I'm lucky like that."
Since then, Jo has also struck out into the world of business, having launched a fragrance company known as Jo Wood Organic and a health capsule supplement, Longevity.

Her television outings beyond Strictly have seen her on shows such as Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity First Dates, and The Island. In a chat with Hello!, she expressed her delight at becoming an author, calling it a "big achievement".
She explained: "It's such a big achievement for me to be an author, because I used to do so badly at school. My father used to say to me: 'Josephine, you are going to end up in Woolworths.' I thought: 'No I am not!'".
Jo added that he would be "so shocked" to know his daughter was an author, explaining that she was "proud" of herself and "never thought" she could do it.
The Resurrection Of Flo is about a woman named Flo in her 50s who throws out her unfaithful husband, rejuvenates her acting career, and dives back into the dating scene.

Lewis Capaldi at Glastonbury: Here are 16 amazing pictures of the Scottish star at the festival in 2019, 2023 and his triumphant comeback in 2025
More than 210,000 music fans are making their way home after descending upon Worthy Farm , in Somerset, for this year's Glastonbury Festival . First held in 1970 as the Pop, Blues & Folk Festival - when just 1,500 people attended - the feast of music has grown to become a major event in the British cultural calendar, with most of the biggest names in music having played it at least once. Tickets went on sale last November before a single act had been announced and sold out instantly. Festival-goers enjoyed hundreds of performances, with The 1975 , Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo headlining the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights respectively. And millions watched on television as the BBC provided wall-to-wall coverage. One of the biggest stories of the festival was a secret set from Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi before Alanis Morissette on the Pyramid Stage on Friday. The star had barely performed since being unable to finish his 2023 set two years ago at Worthy Farm, following a diagnosis of Tourette syndrome. It was a triumphant comeback, with a new single released the same day, and now a hometown gig confirmed for Glasgow's Hydro. with another performance scheduled for Aberdeen's P&J Live as part of a UK tour.
