Overview
Every Porsche Macan feels like a sports car trapped in a luxury compact crossover body, but the GTS takes that formula to the limit. Brandishing a 434-hp twin-turbo V-6, all-wheel drive, and a 60-mph sprint time of just 3.5 seconds, the Macan GTS's Carrera-rivaling specs only tell part of the story. Its ultra-responsive steering is something that you have to feel to believe, and its chassis is tuned to get the most out of backroad antics. While rivals like the BMW X3M and Mercedes-AMG GLC-Class offer more slightly more cargo capacity, neither of those models can match the GTS's athleticism.
What's New for 2026?
It has been a while since the Macan GTS received a notable update, and that trend continues into the 2026 model year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2026 Porsche Macan GTS starts at $93,250.

The Macan GTS comes well-equipped with performance goodies right out of the gate, but we think the SUV's luxury is a bit lacking. So, we'd order the Premium Plus package, which includes a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated 14-way adjustable front seats, and a 14-speaker Bose stereo system.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Although the base Macan (reviewed separately) is available with a turbocharged four-cylinder, going with the higher-performance GTS gets you a much more powerful 434-hp twin-turbo V-6. Several rivals offer even more power, including the 505-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and the 503-hp BMW X3 M Competition. Despite the disadvantage in power, though, the Macan GTS feels like the more accomplished option thanks to its crisper handling and more communicative helm.
0–60-MPH Times
The Macan GTS delivered an impressive 3.5-second 60-mph time at our test track. That's quick, but so is the slightly less powerful Macan S, which did the same in 3.8 seconds.

Tested: 2022 Porsche Macan GTS Is the One to Get
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA hasn't released any fuel economy information for the 2026 Macan GTS yet, but last year's model carried estimates of 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. Without any significant changes, the newest model should achieve similar results. We'll update this section with updated EPA estimates and results from our 75-mph real-world highway fuel economy test when they become available. For more information about the Macan GTS's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
While entry-level Macans can be a bit too spartan for their price, the GTS model comes with more niceties such as leather upholstery, aluminum trim, and heated front seats. Still, those seeking an SUV with a plusher cabin may find the Genesis GV70 more appealing. The Macan GTS aims for maximum fun, with well-placed controls, good outward visibility, and a comfortable driving position. Its cargo hold isn't as large as some of its rivals, but when has buying a Porsche ever been a rational choice? We fit six carry-on bags in the cargo bay and 16 with the rear seats folded, which should be enough for most people.

Infotainment and Connectivity
Porsche's infotainment system offers all manner of high-tech features, including standard Apple CarPlay and a wireless charging pad. Still, as with nearly everything on the Macan's equipment list, the best features cost extra. Upgrading to the 14-speaker Bose audio system adds $990, and the even more powerful 16-speaker Burmester stereo is a whopping $5690 option. USB ports and 12-volt outlets dot the cabin, so driver and passengers alike should be able to keep their devices fully charged. With the standard mobile Wi-Fi package onboard, the family data plan might be able to escape a road trip unscathed too.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Macan GTS is available with a wide array of driver-assistance technology, but almost none of it is standard. For information about the Macan's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:
Standard lane-departure warning
Available automated emergency braking
Available adaptive cruise control
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Porsche's warranty coverage is good but not great. The BMW X3 M and the Jaguar F-Pace SVR offer greater coverage in certain areas.
Limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles
Powertrain warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles
Complimentary maintenance covers one year or 10,000 miles

Aeva Technologies (AEVA) Rallies 8.55% on Robotics, Autonomous Driving Growth Opportunities

Aeva Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AEVA) is one of the . Aeva Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AEVA) rallied by 8.55 percent on Friday to close at $36.43 apiece ahead of the quarterly window dressing, sparked by growth opportunities from the booming industrial automation and robotics, and autonomous driving. Aeva Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AEVA), a company focused on manufacturing and selling light detection and ranging (lidar) systems, is set to benefit from the increasing adoption of industrial automation, with various companies now transitioning to robotics to do jobs. A close-up of a LiDAR-on-chip sensor mounted in a consumer-grade electronic device. At home, e-commerce giant Amazon earlier this month underscored the future of warehouse automation and robotics, saying that it will need fewer people to do some of the jobs over time. 'In our fulfillment network, we're using AI to improve inventory placement, demand forecasting, and the efficiency of our robots—all of which have improved cost to serve and delivery speed,' Amazon CEO Andrew Jassy was quoted as saying. Additionally, autonomous driving is now taking center stage, sparking optimism for further growth for the lidar industry. Just this month, auto giant Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) launched its robotaxi operations in Texas, while Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE:UBER) was mulling over acquiring Pony AI's US subsidiary. Thierry Neuville slams Hankook tyres at WRC Acropolis Rally

Thierry Neuville has said the World Rally Championship's Hankook control tyres are 'not on the level' they should be after suffering a series of problems during Acropolis Rally Greece. The reigning world champion cut a frustrated figure on Friday after suffering punctures in back-to-back stages, resulting in the Belgian dropping from the rally lead to eighth. Advertisement Neuville wasn't the only driver to suffer tyre problems: all of the Rally1 field, except his Hyundai team-mate Adrien Fourmaux, either picked up tyre damage or punctures while navigating through the rough gravel stages. To make matters worse for Neuville, a slow puncture to his right rear cost him time in Saturday's stage eight before going on to pick up tyre damage on the left rear in the next stage. Despite the problems, Neuville managed to climb ahead of Toyota's Kalle Rovanpera to seventh overall. Neuville was still frustrated though, telling the end of stage nine reporter: "The tyres are not on the level. If you see why we puncture, it's just insane. 'Playing on that level with such a product is not possible. We get punished all the time for nothing, it's not fun. It's just luck that decides. We keep on going and make up some ground.' Thierry Neuville, Martijn Wydaeghe, Hyundai World Rally Team Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Thierry Neuville, Martijn Wydaeghe, Hyundai World Rally Team Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Neuville elaborated further on the matter once he reached the service park: 'Yesterday, one of the tyres wasn't even punctured at the end. For a few seconds, it jumped around and let the air out and we put the pressure back in it last night and the tyre stayed full pressure overnight. Advertisement 'It is just a manufacturing, reliability issue and that is not how we should fight for the world championship and it is the same for the punctures. "This morning it wasn't visible where the tyre was losing air. It was a really small hole and I have never seen this before, it is really insane. I have had more punctures now than I had all last year. They [Hankook] have big work to do.' This is Hankook's first year as the WRC's control tyre supplier having taken over the contract that was previously held by Pirelli. The Korean tyre manufacturer has so far attracted limited criticism having produced a tyre that has been durable at the majority of events this year. However, this weekend's Acropolis, round seven of 2025, has arguably proved to be the tyre brand's toughest test yet. Conditions for this season's event, moved from September back to a traditional June date, have been much rougher than previous years, exacerbated by a prolonged period without rainfall to compact the roads. Hankook responds to Neuville's concerns Responding to Neuville's comments, Hankook's spokesperson Steven Cho told 'We absolutely share his [Neuville's] frustration. I think he has had more than his fair share of issues. Thierry Neuville, Martijn Wydaeghe, Hyundai World Rally Team Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Thierry Neuville, Martijn Wydaeghe, Hyundai World Rally Team Hyundai i20 N Rally1 "Coming to Greece we knew it would be the biggest challenge of the season, and from what we understand it is even harsher from a temperature and stage perspective than what we have seen in the past few years. We knew it would be a massive challenge and it has proved to be. Advertisement 'As this is our first year our focus was to come [to the WRC] with a conservative approach to make sure our tyres are as robust as possible, and I think we have seen up until now, generally, we have been ok. Of course we are not complacent about it and in motorsport things can always be better, and so we will continue to push but we knew this was going to be challenging. 'Moving forward we have developments that we are working on closely with the manufacturers as well as the FIA, and our plan is definitely not to stand still. But at the same time we need to find the appropriate time to bring those. We have multiple things in the process of development. 'Delaminations is something that we didn't like to see for sure. There are different types of tyre problems, there is the basic impact or basic debeading from a lateral impact. The delaminations are a combination of the extreme heat we are seeing here and also the very abrasive surfaces that are compounding that problem. This is something we will look seriously at to avoid those. 'As far as the issues we have seen here, that to a certain extent are a little bit unavoidable and to a certain extent expected, we will look at the data and see how we can come back stronger next year.' Massively Turbocharged Five-Rotor Sounds More Like an F1 V10 Than an F1 V10

The latest car news, reviews, and features. I don't know about you all, but I'm tired of every high-revving engine being compared to a Formula 1 V10. Like, I get it—YouTubers want clicks and we car people are suckers for that sweet 2000s nostalgia. But the truth is, most of the time, whatever garage-built project they're talking about doesn't sound like an F1 V10. This insane five-rotor with a 106-millimeter turbo, however, does. It's the work of David Mazzei, who started a company called Mazzei Formula. He specializes in nasty rotary engines, and before this, he crafted a four-rotor for an FD RX-7. This build, dubbed the Formula Five, uses a Superlite SL-C kit car as its base and goes wild from there. Mazzei started the project in 2021 when he acquired the SL-C. He wrote about his plans for the car in a forum post: 'Five-rotor, first one in the world. Crankshaft is currently off for balancing. We plan to run a billet engine, full peripheral port, and a modified G57 turbo to achieve around 1,500 [rear-wheel horsepower] and produce a V10 F1 sound. Rotary fires 1x per rev, four-stroke piston fires once every other rev. With the 72-degree lobe angle offsets, and an equal length five-into-one collector with merge angle and collector design mimicking the [Mazda] 787b four-rotor, we theorize it should sound identical to a V10 F1 at 18,000 [rpm] when running at 9,000 rpm. Major third harmonic, one being root tonic, and the third and octave above the root.' To me, that sounds like a guy who knows what he's talking about. Fast forward roughly four years, and Mazzei has made good on his promise. He uploaded a video earlier this week showing the Formula Five on the road with cameras inside the car and out. My favorite view has to be the rear-facing angle, focusing on the engine and the massive 106-millimeter turbo strapped to the back. It has an air-actuated Holinger MXT sequential transaxle that only makes the sound better as he clicks through the gears. And as for the 3.3-liter engine, it has a six-stage dry sump oiling system with a cable-driven, spur-geared fuel pump. Being honest with you guys, I didn't even know a dry sump system could have six stages, and I've never heard of a spur-geared fuel pump. I guess that means I need to spend more time in the pits. Watching this video makes me realize that I'll never be able to build something like this. And you know what? That's fine. I'm more than happy to leave the crazy projects to people like Mazzei with the smarts and—importantly—patience to make them happen. Man, what a sound. Got a tip or question for the author?
