What's Happening With Crunchyroll's ‘Gundam' Related Blu-Ray Restocks?
A few weeks ago, a Redditor posted a worrying response regarding restocking certain Blu-rays on Crunchyroll, so I reached out to them to find out more.
To give a bit of context, when it comes to Gundam-related Blu-rays, those used to be handled by RightStuf. They did great work on multiple classic shows, all of which I dutifully reviewed.
Back in October 2023, Crunchyroll announced that they had absorbed RightStuf and their massive Blu-ray catalogue, and they too followed up with multiple current Blu-ray releases for newer Gundam shows, such as Witch from Mercury.
However, it seems that regarding the restocking of older Blu-ray releases, the initial customer service response was a tad bleak.
The good news is that Crunchyroll is actually trying to figure out a way to restock older Blu-ray releases, as the following Crunchyroll spokesperson explained when I reached out to them for more details.
A lovely piece of artwork by Mamoru Ito for 'Gundam: Char's Counterattack', which is currently out ... More of stock on Blu-ray at Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll is proud to produce and distribute a wide and diverse range of home entertainment and collectibles, including Blu-ray, for anime fans at the Crunchyroll Store and through third-party retailers. We are currently out of stock on a limited number of select titles and are always evaluating how and when to replenish those titles. Other Mobile Suit Gundam merchandise can also be found here at the Crunchyroll Store.
On background, I can also share:
Overall, we just don't have news to share or a timeline.
Compared to the initial customer service response, it's definitely more hopeful, and they are stocking all manner of Gundam merchandise, from toys to model kits and yes, Blu-rays.
My only concern is that Crunchyroll is part of Sony, and Sony recently announced their intent to cease Blu-ray production.
While the mantra of 'you'll own nothing and be happy' may excite some soulless corporate executives, in my case, they will have to take my treasured Gundam Blu-rays from my cold, dead hands.
Here's hoping Crunchyroll can fix its supply chain issues and keep up with the increasing fan demand for Blu-rays of popular anime.

NYT ‘Connections' Hints And Answers For Sunday, June 29th
Hints, clues and answers for today's Connections are here. Looking for Saturday's NYT Connections hints, clues and answers instead? You can find them here: It's a lovely weekend, though I'm a little sad it's already the last weekend of June. My favorite month of the year, come and gone. Summer has begun in earnest and the 4th Of July is just around the corner. I suppose we'll get some kind of patriotism-themed Connections that day, though usually when Connections have a 'theme' it's a headfake. In any case, we have some words to group. Let's get right to it! How To Play Connections Connections is the second-most popular NYT Games puzzle game outside of the main crossword itself, and an extremely fun, free offering that will get your brain moving every day. Play it right here. The goal is to take a group of 16 words and find links between four pairs of four of them. They could be specific categories of terms, or they could be little world puzzles where words may come before or after them you need to figure out. And they get more complicated from there. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder There is only one set of right answers for this, and you only get a certain number of tries so you can't just spam around until you find something. There are difficulty tiers coded by color, which will usually go from yellow, blue/green to purple as difficulty increases, so know that going in and when you start linking them together. You pick the four words you think are linked and either you will get a solve and a lit up row that shows you how you were connected. If you're close, it will tell you that you're one away. Again, four mistakes you lose, but if you want to know the answers without failing, either come here, or delete your web cookies and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can get an NYT Games subscription to access the full archives of all past puzzles. What Are Today's Connections Hints? These are the hints that are laid out on the puzzle board itself, but after that, we will get into spoiler territory with some hints and eventually the answers. Today's Connections What Are Today's Connections Groups? Alright, the full spoilers follow here as we get into what the groups are today: What Are Today's Connections Answers? The full-on answers are below for each group, finally inserting the four words in each category. Spoilers follow if you do not want to get this far. The Connections answers are: Today's Connections answers Not a terribly difficult Connections today. The one that got me was the dance moves. My first choice was EARTHWORM for this group, as I pictured that dance breakdancers do on the ground, though I think it's just called the worm. In any case, I swapped that out for CABBAGE PATCH and that worked. I was pretty certain that the purple words would be all the stuff you find in the ground, but I guessed what I suspected the green words were first. I got these all in order in the end, from yellow to blue to green to purple. I still think this puzzle would be more fun and just a tiny bit more challenging if they'd include a poison word or red herring, something to throw us off a bit more. One word that didn't fit. But maybe that would be too much. How did you do on today's Connections? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram, Bluesky or Facebook. Today's NYT Strands Puzzle: Hints, Spangram And Answers For Saturday, June 28th
Today's NYT Strands hints and answers Looking for Friday's Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here: Well well well, I'm back. It's been a couple weeks since I guided you through one of these Strands puzzles. Back then, we weren't even quite half-way through June. Time flew and here we are. The end is nigh. Here comes July. Let's uncover some words for this Saturday grid shall we? Strands is the newest game in the New York Times' stable of puzzle games. It's a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we're given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day's theme. Spoilers ahead. Today's Strands Hints Read on for today's theme and some hints to help you uncover today's words. Instead of giving you the first two letters of each word, today I'm giving out three hints instead of two. Today's Theme: ...not included. Clue: Various inanimate objects you purchase. Here are the first two letters of each of today's words: Remember, spoilers ahead! What Are Today's Strands Answers? Today's spangram is: BATTERIESREQUIRED Here's the full list of words: Here's the completed Strands grid: Today's Strands This was an interesting Strands. The spangram—BATTERIESREQUIRED—is all on the left side of the grid instead of intersecting it. I actually found this one first. I found BATTERIES, which I knew was the . . . in the theme and when that didn't work I searched more and found REQUIRED. Of course, my mind turns to the old movie Batteries Not Required, which is a wonderful old film from 1987 that I watched a bunch of times as a kid. From here it was pretty easy. TOYS was in the other corner. CLOCK was just below that and cordoned off CAMERA. I mopped up the last couple words soon enough. How did you do on your Strands today?
