Wel-ROS6 in Black Crystal Roselle Raises the Bar for Health Supplements
TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Media OutReach Newswire - 22 July 2025 - Taiwan's leading jelly supplement manufacturer, Wel-Bloom Biotech, recently co-hosted an anthocyanin-focused seminar with LEARN EATiNG, one of the most renowned nutritionist teams in Taiwan. The event highlighted trending international ingredients alongside Taiwan's own Black Crystal Roselle. Attracting around 300 nutrition professionals both online and onsite, the seminar reflected strong industry interest and high expectations for the future of anthocyanin innovation.
In recent years, the health supplement market has seen rapid growth, accompanied by a shift in consumer priorities. Today's consumers increasingly believe that "choosing the right ingredients matters more than simply taking more," a mindset that is driving innovation in ingredient formulation. According to the 2024 Top 30 Dietary Trends Report, there is growing interest in the synergistic effects of ingredient combinations. For instance, pairing anthocyanins with fish oil offers comprehensive support for overall health, while combining them with collagen enhances beauty and skin wellness.
The Black Crystal Roselle, grown locally in Taiwan, contains naturally high levels of anthocyanins and has recently drawn growing interest in the health supplement field for its promising nutritional potential.
As one of the keynote speakers, Wel-Bloom Biotech introduced Wel-ROS6®—a proprietary botanical ingredient derived from Black Crystal Roselle. Developed using triple-patented technology, it is cultivated through natural farming methods and smallholder contract farming to ensure consistent quality and traceability. Laboratory data shows that Wel-ROS6® contains 17.7 times more total anthocyanins than standard commercial roselle. Additionally, total phenolic acids and flavonoids are elevated by 1.9 times and 1.3 times, respectively—highlighting its rich phytochemical profile and high functional value. (See Note 1)
The event also featured the Food Industry Research and Development Institute's newly proposed "Food Value Equation":
Value = (Sensory Perception × Functional Technology × User Experience) × Amplification Multiplier.
This formula highlights the importance of balancing sensory appeal, technological innovation, and user experience—emphasizing that all three elements are essential to creating meaningful value in food products.
To meet growing consumer demands for convenience and palatability in health supplements, product development is increasingly focused on factors such as absorption efficiency, flavor optimization, and sustainable sourcing. The rise of "tasty" health products reflects a major trend in preventive wellness—perfectly aligned with today's mindset of "eating less, supplementing smarter." Through its one-stop CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) services, Taiwan's local agriculture can now be transformed from raw materials into globally market-ready products that seamlessly integrate into everyday life.
Wel-ROS6®, backed by the support of over 300 health professionals, will be featured alongside other cutting-edge botanical ingredients at the 2025 BIO Asia–Taiwan Exhibition and Vitafoods Asia.
We warmly invite you to visit our booth and explore partnership opportunities with Wel-Bloom Biotech to co-create the next generation of best-selling health supplements.
Note 1:
Testing commissioned to the Food Industry Research and Development Institute:
Total phenolic content: Measured using the Folin–Ciocalteu colorimetric assay.
Total flavonoid content: Measured using the AlCl₃–NaNO₂–NaOH colorimetric method (also known as the Aluminum chloride colorimetric assay).
Independent testing by the Forecast Research Lab:
Anthocyanins (Delphinidin chloride, Cyanidin chloride): Quantified using HPLC analysis
Total anthocyanins: Measured by the pH differential method

Asia's largest institutional fund platform Gordian Capital plans move to Dubai

Gordian Capital, Asia's first and largest institutional cross-border fund platform and fund solutions provider, which was acquired by the Luxembourg-based IQ-EQ on Wednesday, plans to expand and set up operations in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The move, which is expected to significantly enhance its Middle East operations, is subject to approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Gordian Capital is Asia's only fully-licensed institutional fund platform operating in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, the continent's three key financial centres. It is fully licensed and regulated with MAS in Singapore, SEC in the USA, SFC in Hong Kong, FSA in Japan, and ASIC in Australia. The group is also required to meet guidelines and registration requirements with SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India), CSRC (China Securities Regulatory Commission) and CBI (Central Bank of Ireland) as both an investor and investment manager. As a key regulated infrastructure provider, the company is already part of the ecosystem of prime brokers, executing brokers, fund administrators, legal, tax and audit firms with operations in Asia and, subject to regulatory approval, expects to also become a key market provider in, and help expand the DIFC ecosystem. The firm has launched over 115 funds across both private and public strategies, including private equity, real estate, venture capital, private credit, infrastructure, trade finance, and multiple hedge fund strategies, as well as long-only and absolute return strategies. It works with some of the world's largest general partners and asset managers, supporting them as they both invest and expand into Asia. Almost 96 per cent of its US$17 billion assets under management are from institutional investors. Mark Voumard, Founder of the group and CEO of Gordian Capital Singapore, commented: 'The DIFC has seen and continues to experience strong growth in the number of managers across alternatives and traditional strategies, who have established an operation. 'Going cross-border can have its challenges, primarily in terms of speed to market, as well as meeting rigorous initial and ongoing operational and regulatory standards. This is where, provided we obtain regulatory approval, with the group's history of success and growth in Asia over the last 20 years, we plan to provide a highly regulated market entry pathway and infrastructure for institutional quality GPs and managers seeking to establish a regulated presence in DIFC. 'We have been given a warm welcome by the pro-business, market-friendly, and highly professional team at DIFC and, subject to receiving regulatory approval, expect to work closely with them to help develop DIFC even further as an asset management centre.' Gordian's planned Fund Platform offering in DIFC, subject to approval by the DFSA, would leverage the company's expertise as the manager for experienced investment professionals, who require an institutional level regulated, physical and operational fund infrastructure. Salmaan Jaffery, Chief Business Development Officer at DIFC Authority, added: 'We are pleased that Gordian Capital has announced its intention to establish a presence in Dubai International Financial Centre. Their decision reflects the strength of DIFC as the region's leading financial hub with unparalleled depth in asset management, attracting new firms and business models that access the fast-growing markets of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.' Gordian Capital joins IQ-EQ, rebrands by 2026 Meanwhile, IQ-EQ has received regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) and is expected to close its acquisition of Gordion shortly, subject to customary closing conditions. CEO and co-founder Voumard will continue to lead the business and will join IQ-EQ's Asia senior leadership team, ensuring continuity of the day-to-day delivery of services. The business will go to market as Gordian Capital, part of IQ-EQ, until the second quarter of 2026, after which the business will rebrand as IQ-EQ. Mark Pesco, Group Chief Executive Officer at IQ-EQ, commented: 'This acquisition represents a significant milestone in IQ-EQ's growth strategy, further solidifying our strong market position in the Asia Pacific region. 'Asia has long been a key region for IQ-EQ, and the addition of Gordian Capital, alongside our recent acquisition of AMAL Group, underscores our commitment to expanding our presence and capabilities in this dynamic market. The combined expertise and reach of our expert teams will enable us to offer unparalleled services and support, fostering growth and innovation across the region.' Established in 2004 by capital markets professionals and alternatives industry veterans in Asia, Gordian Capital initially launched its first operating subsidiary in Singapore in 2005.

DP World mobilises $1bln to boost trade flow

DP World Trade Finance has mobilised over US$1 billion in working capital for businesses across emerging markets, helping close the global trade finance gap and keep goods moving through some of the world's most challenging economic environments. This milestone was achieved through a combination of DP World's own lending operations and partnerships with more than 32 financial institutions globally, including J.P. Morgan, Standard Bank, NedBank and more. Their financing solutions, delivered alongside DP World's logistics capabilities, have helped reduce risk and improve access to capital for underserved businesses of all sizes, thus lowering barriers to international trade. By combining trade finance with logistics, DP World offers businesses both funding and real-time visibility into their supply chains. This integrated model helps lenders make faster, more informed decisions - unlocking capital where it's needed most. The portfolio that DP World Trade Finance handles has also proven to create a very healthy loan book with high-quality assets, way better than the industry benchmarks, further reinforcing the effectiveness of this data-driven, integrated approach. To date, DP World Trade Finance has enabled trade across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, supporting sectors including agriculture, metals, automotive, and engineering. Commenting on this achievement, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem said, "The growth of our trade finance business underscores the UAE's role as a catalyst for global trade. By making capital more accessible, particularly in high-potential markets, we are shaping a trade system that is more inclusive and resilient.' Sinan Ozcan, Senior Executive Officer, DP World Trade Finance, stated, 'Cross-border trade is the engine of global economic growth, but access to affordable finance remains a critical barrier for many businesses, especially SMEs in emerging markets. Reaching this US$1 billion milestone reflects our commitment to changing that. Through DP World Trade Finance, we've created a network that connects businesses with capital, streamlines the financing process and enables trade to flow more consistently on a global scale.' The global trade finance gap, estimated at US$2.5 trillion, continues to limit opportunities for businesses in developing economies, particularly those without access to traditional financing due to limited credit histories, lack of collateral, or weaker balance sheets that classify them as high risk.
