McDonald's introduces mouthwatering new menu item

Perth Now10-07-2025
It's been a hotcake minute since McDonald's announced a new breakfast menu item but one of Australia's favourite eating joints has just announced a significant addition.
After a short trial period, Maccas 'McGriddles' have landed permanently for a good time and a long time on Australian menus.
The McGriddle is a thick pancake-like sandwich, fluffier than the typical English muffin, infused with a maple flavouring - think of a cross between a hotcake and a McMuffin.
They can be ordered on their own or with the usual breakfast suspects: cheese, egg, bacon, or Maccas signature sausage patty.
Whether you're an early riser or serial snoozer, the sweet and savoury combination sounds like it is worth getting out of bed for. McDonald's teases the release of the new McGriddle Credit: Instagram
After proving popular with diners during the initial trial period, marketing director of menu and brand for McDonalds's Australia Amanda Nakad said they'll be rolling them out nationwide.
'Safe to say, we got the message and gave our iconic breakfast menu a glow up by adding it to the national menu.
'The McGriddles range joins our other main characters: crispy hash browns, toasted McMuffins and cracked eggs' she said.
The soft and fluffy, sweet and savoury combo has been available in selected stores worldwide for more than two decades in Hong Kong, Japan and Canada, among others, but it's the first time they've made an appearance down under.
Social media users and firm Maccas fans couldn't contain their excitement at the news.
'Had one for breakfast, it was fantastic. Everyone needs a McGriddle at 4am,' one user said.
'Finally! Been getting these for 10 years in the states. This is all I wanted in Aus. Love,' said another.
'Dreams really do come true' one happy user noted.
With cold mornings making the early commute more of a struggle, it's nice to know that the fast food giant has you covered with comfort food to fuel you for the day.
McGriddles are available now in McDonald's restaurants Australia-wide until 10:30am.

‘Harder than being CEO': AFL ex's bold claim about WAG life

Brodie Ryan, the former girlfriend of Collingwood legend Nathan Buckley, has the internet up in arms after claiming that being a WAG is 'harder than being a CEO'. Following the high-profile pair's split a few months ago, Ryan has spoken out about the hardships of keeping up the glamorous lifestyle of being in a relationship with a sportsman - which has fallen on deaf ears. Becoming an AFL WAG, wife and girlfriend, has become a dream job for many women with low ambition in recent years. The 36-year-old, who works as a business manager, compared dating the 52-year-old to being the chief executive of a company. 'What they do is tough for a job, so you need that support at home. And I guess a lot of the trolls out there will say they're just a WAG — they're not just a WAG,' she told the Herald Sun. Brodie Ryan's claim seems to have fallen on deaf ears. 'Sometimes I would say, seeing my mum do it, seeing my friends do it, being a stay at home mum and keeping a home and supporting an AFL footballer would be harder than being a CEO of a company.' Buckley and Ryan first met in 2022, a year after the Collingwood legend's coaching career had already come to an end. Brodie Ryan and Nathan Buckley. Harder than a CEO. You have no idea how people without money survive,' one comment said. 'Such a hard life....' another said sarcastically, while a third added: 'These poor WAGS have no idea'. 'Well when the notion that footballers are hero's and do brilliant things like kick a football I could imagine how stressful it would be to clean snot of a kids face,' one pointed out. One Aussie claimed it was a stretch to call Ryan a WAG considering Buckley had been long retired, saying 'I wouldn't exactly call her a wag, more like the rebound relationship after Buckley split with his wife Tanya!' 'Does she know what actual work was,' another said. Nathan Buckley and Tania. Between Tania and Ryan, Buckley had a one year relationship with cosmetic nurse Alex Pike.

Nathan Buckley's ex-girfriend Brodie Ryan makes jaw-dropping claim that 'being a WAG is harder than being a CEO' just three months after their high-profile break up

Nathan Buckley's former partner, Brodie Ryan, has spoken out about life behind the label of a WAG, claiming it can be "harder than being a CEO". The 36-year-old business operations manager dated the 52-year-old AFL legend for three years before they publicly confirmed their split in May. Speaking on the Smile: The Makeover Scoop podcast, Ryan defended the role of a partner in elite sport, arguing that what happens behind the scenes is far more demanding than most people realise. "No one sees each other as a WAG," she said. "You are a wife or a girlfriend, and you are supporting your partner. And what they do is tough for a job." Raised in regional Victoria around Mildura and now based in Melbourne, the spiritual home of AFL, Ryan said professional athletes "need that support at home" and that criticism of WAGs often misses the mark. "I guess a lot of the trolls out there will say they're just a WAG- they're not just a WAG," she said. "They work really hard at home, and they look after a home, which is hard. "Sometimes I would say, seeing my mum do it, seeing my friends do it, being a stay-at-home mum and keeping a home and supporting an AFL footballer would be harder than being a CEO of a company. That is a job within itself." Ryan has held various roles throughout her career, including working as a dental nurse, a professional singer, and a seasonal firefighter who responded to the devastating Black Saturday fires. She currently works as an operations manager at a security company. However, she described how her world was turned upside down during her relationship with Buckley. "My life completely changed. I lost all my autonomy," she said. "Everyone knew everything about my life. I think it's really important to understand that there's a woman or a person behind that label of a WAG." Nearly three months on from the split, Ryan said she is beginning to reconnect with herself and prioritise her own wellbeing. "I'm having so much fun getting up and doing my walks in the morning, going to the gym, eating well. It's not a lot of lasagnes anymore," she said. "I think I lost myself a little bit in what someone else needed in me or what I thought they needed in me because of what they were going through at the time." Ryan first confirmed the breakup in May with a heartfelt message to her Instagram followers, addressing fans of the "Brodes and Bucks" relationship. "Thank you for your kind messages and support over the past couple of months of heartache. I am truly grateful for your kindness and consideration," she wrote. "After much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways." Speaking to The Herald Sun in June, Ryan admitted that while "break-ups are always horrible", she was beginning to find her feet again. "I wanted that responsibility and revelled in that of being a housewife and a little family's support, but unfortunately it didn't end the way I'd hoped," she said. "Time heals all wounds. The heartbreak is real, but we'll both be OK." Buckley separated from his wife Tania, with whom he shares two sons, in 2020 after 18 years of marriage. He later dated cosmetic nurse Alex Pike for a year before that relationship ended in January 2022.

Jelena Dokic shares stunning bikini photo during European getaway after denying Ozempic rumours

Jelena Dokic has stunned her fans after posting a stunning bikini selfie following her recent body transformation. The Croatian-born Aussie tennis star is currently enjoying a luxurious holiday in her birth country after wrapping up commentary duties for Channel 9 during the Wimbledon tennis grand slam. Dokic, 42, took to Instagram on Monday to share a very revealing selfie in a low-cut swimsuit while smiling at the camera. 'Holiday mode fully activated. Beach day,' she wrote in the caption. Fans of the former World No.4 flooded the comment section to praise Dokic's healthy glow amid her European getaway. 'You are glowing!,' one fan wrote. 'Great to see you happy and healthy,' another supporter said. Dokic has previously opened up about losing more than 20 kilograms during her recent weight loss journey. In March, Dokic posted a side-by-side comparison of her before-and-after weight loss, musing that she is the 'same hardworking person' regardless of her weight. Dokic has also publicly dispelled speculation she uitlised a GLP-1 weight loss medication like Ozempic and attributed her weight loss to dietary changes and gruelling gym sessions. 'Exercise and working so hard to get healthy,' Dokic wrote via Instagram last month after a commenter asked if she had utilised the popular weight loss drug. '6am gym sessions and eating healthy even when I work 18 hour days. 'But thank you for the assumptions that had nothing to do with the truth.' GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic help regulate appetite and are increasingly being used in medical weight loss programs. The revealing new selfie comes just weeks after Dokic went public with new boyfriend Yane Veselinov after months of media speculation. "You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you," Dokic wrote alongside a romantic snap with her new partner. The new love in Jelena's life is a hospitality operations manager who describes himself on Instagram as a "food and wine enthusiast, pleasure seeker and life enjoyer". The Aussie tennis star reached a peak of World No. 4 during her glittering career, including a Wimbledon semifinal in 2000 and a quarter final appearance at the French Open in 2002. Dokic is nominated for her first ever Logie award for the Channel 9 documentary Unbreakable about her turbulent life on and off the court. In the doc, Dokic harrowingly detailed her late father and coach Damir Dokic's alleged physical, emotional and financial abuse, which allegedly occurred regularly throughout her childhood and during her professional career.
