A video of a 21-year-old cat named Boo begging to join his owner for a 4:00 a.m. study session has gone viral.
After waking to study for an exam in just a few hours, the creator shared how her senior cat vocally nudged her to include him in the cramming session. The TikTok video has received more than 522,000 likes and over 1,200 comments from emotional TikTok-ers reflecting on their own special relationships with older cats.
"POV: It's 4:44 AM. You have a law school exam in four hours and your 21 year old cat has woken up to let you [know] he would like to sit with you while you study," the creator captioned the video. "Yes, we got Boo when I was two years old."
The short clip shows the senior cat sitting on the couch meowing loudly and forcefully at his owner until she let him sit with her.
After involving him to join her as she studies, his loud meows turned to purrs, suggesting he got exactly what he was asking for.
Boo's presence touched viewers, many of whom were amazed not just by the cat's age, but by his demands for inclusion.
"I'm so curious to know what he was saying, cause he had my cat staring at my phone in great concern," one person wrote about the meowing. "He has never done that before with any other cat video!"
The comments section was also filled with emotional responses from users reflecting on their own relationships with their cats—especially those who've supported them through major milestones like college.
"My very vocal cat is five and stuck by me all through college," one person shared. "He was either asleep in my lap, laying with his arm on the corner of my laptop or sitting next to me. We graduate with our BA in three days."
Many viewers were especially moved by the fact that Boo had been with his owner since she was a young child.
"This cat has been with you since you were a toddler and will also see you graduating university and getting your first job," a user wrote. "I'm gonna cry."

Special Bonds with Senior Cats
Most commenters were reminded of their own beloved senior cats who had been by their side through thick and thin.
"I just lost my oldest little man at 28 whole years," one person reflected. "He's older than me, basically grew up alongside me."
Another added: "I just lost my 18-year-old (most likely older, because I was his second home) and seeing this makes me so happy that old cats are so loved."
The comments also revealed a quiet but widespread reality: Many students and professionals have shared their most challenging and transformative moments with non-human companions.
"This made me tear up," one person wrote. "I also have a very old cat who attended law school with me and my husband. Now she is with me while I prepare for the bar too."
Boo, now in the final years of his long life, has not only grown up beside his owner but continues to offer companionship as she tackles law school.

Ty Burrell has ‘no regrets' leaving Hollywood for Utah after ‘Modern Family' success
One big happy family. 'Modern Family' star Ty Burrell, 57, recently admitted that he has 'no regrets' ditching Hollywood for Utah following his success on the popular ABC sitcom. 'It's just been spectacular,' he told People in an interview published Sunday, August 3. 7 Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy in the final season of 'Modern Family.' The 'Black Hawk Down' actor and his wife, Holly Burrell, 50, left Los Angeles for Salt Lake City in 2020 following the 11th and final season of 'Modern Family.' 'My parents weren't really those kinds of people,' the 'Out of Practice' star said regarding life in the mountains. WireImage Burrell, who starred as goofy real estate agent Phil Dunphy in all 11 seasons of 'Modern Family,' previously opened up about his wife and how they've managed their 25-year marriage earlier this year. 'This is probably connected to the really old axiom of 'Don't go to bed angry,' but we force ourselves to talk about stuff,' he told People in March. 'Both of us make sure that if something's wrong, by the end of the night, we have at least had some discussion about it.' WireImage Much like real life, Burrell starred as a family man in 'Modern Family.' He was married to Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen), and the on-screen couple shared Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould). Ed O'Neill (Jay Pritchett), Sofía Vergara (Gloria Delgado-Pritchett), Rico Rodriguez (Manny), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett) and Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) rounded out the cast, and the show went on to win a total of 22 Primetime Emmy Awards throughout its 11-season run. 7 Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen in a scene from the two-part series finale of 'Modern Family.' Plus, several fans of the show thought Burrell had passed away after he failed to appear for a previous reunion that the award-winning cast organized. Advertisement While the 'Incredible Hulk' actor has mainly stuck to voiceover work in the years since leaving Hollywood, he did recently launch a podcast series, titled 'The Good Life,' that is loosely based on his own childhood. 7 Ariel Winter, Ty Burrell, Sarah Hyland, Julie Bowen and Rico Rodriguez of 'Modern Family' during a panel in Los Angeles on January 8, 2020. Advertisement 'I'm starting to get the itch again to perform,' he told People. 'I've mostly done voiceover work and things like this podcast. And if it accidentally works, I'd love to do a second season.' 'It was such a fun process and has so many great people in it,' Burrell concluded. 'I hope people check it out.'

Rock musician Dave Edmunds, 81, hospitalized and fighting for life after ‘major' cardiac arrest
Rocker Dave Edmunds, most popular for his 1970 hit 'I Hear You Knocking,' has been left hospitalized and fighting for his life after suffering a 'major' cardiac arrest. The popular Welsh musician's wife, Karin Cecilia 'Cici' Edmunds, shared the shocking news in a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday, July 29. 'My beloved husband of 40 years has had a major cardiac arrest,' she began. 'He died in my arms while I desperately tried to keep him alive.' 6 Welsh singer, guitarist and record producer Dave Edmunds at Rockfield Studios, Monmouthshire, Wales, in September 1973. Mcpix/Shutterstock Edmunds, 81, was ultimately revived after his wife and nurse administered 'heavy CPR.' 'I'm still in shock, and I believe I have PTSD from the horrific experience,' his wife continued. 'He very clearly has brain damage and severe memory loss.' 'The risk of yet another major cardiac arrest is high,' she added. 'And if that occurs, there is no chance for Dave.' 6 Cici and Dave Edmunds during an event. Bei/Shutterstock 'Dave will have a very long journey ahead of him if he survives. We both have,' Cici concluded. 'But knowing that there are kind-hearted people such as you all makes this tremendously difficult journey a little easier.' Born in Cardiff, Wales, on April 14, 1944, Edmunds had his breakthrough in 1968 when he joined the blues rock band Love Sculpture. After Love Sculpture broke up in 1970, Edmunds went on to release his first solo album, 'Rockpile,' in 1972. 6 Dave Edmunds performs live at the Guitar Legends concert in Seville, Spain, in October 1991. Edmunds' cover of 'I Hear You Knocking' quickly became a hit, and it spent six weeks at No. 1 in the UK. The Welsh producer later formed his own band, also called 'Rockpile,' in 1980. 6 Dave Edmunds performing at the Belga Beach Festival in De Panne, Belgium, on July 20, 1992. After releasing his last album, an instrumental record titled 'On Guitar Dave Edmunds: Rags & Classics,' Edmunds took a break from music in 2015. 'I'm just sitting back at the moment, and I'm planning the next year or so,' he told Ultimate Classic Rock during an interview ten years before his shocking health scare. 6 Dave Edmunds posing for a picture in a record office on February 28, 1975. Getty Images Brian Setzer, Edmunds' close friend and former producer, also claimed that the 'I Hear You Knocking' rocker officially retired from music and performing in July 2017. 'It's with a bittersweet announcement that my good friend and guitar legend Dave Edmunds is retiring after tomorrow night's show,' Setzer wrote on Facebook at the time. 'I wish him all the love in the world in his retirement!' Setzer added.
