Anthea Turner, 64, reveals the secrets behind finding love later in life - and the joys of becoming a 'glam-ma' to her stepdaughter's baby son

Daily Mail29-04-2025
Anthea Turner has revealed the secrets behind finding love later in life after she bounced back from a tough divorce to meet her new fiance.
The TV presenter, 64, split from husband-of-15-years Grant Bovey in 2015 but four years later got engaged to Mark Armstrong.
Now she has explained how she remained optimistic through the collapse of her second marriage, having previously been with Peter Powell from 1990 to 1998, and the difficulties of adjusting future plans in her fifties.
She told OK! 'I'm a Gemini, so I'm always optimistic. I always knew that at some point, I'd meet somebody else. But obviously, you don't know when, who. And it's daunting, if you're in your fifties and all of a sudden, whatever you thought your future was, suddenly disappears.
'It depends what stage in your life things happen. I think the older you get, that natural optimism isn't there in the same way. But for me, I've always had a younger attitude. The elixir of youth isn't in a pot of cream. It's in your attitude.'
Her ex Grant's daughter Claudia has recently welcomed a son and Anthea lifted the lid on the joys of becoming a 'glam-ma'.
'We have Dexter in our family now!' she said. 'It's wonderful. Claudia, my stepdaughter, is the happiest I've ever seen her. She's an amazing mum and it's a joy to watch her with James, her partner. It's really lovely seeing someone you love so happy.'
Anthea recently shared the happy news on Instagram with a heartfelt message to Claudia and James.
Posting a sweet snap of her grandson, the former GMTV presenter captioned the post: 'Claudia Bovey you are a star ⭐️
'Love you James for making her so happy Dexter is beautiful. Hugs and Kisses forever.'
She concluded, 'Granny Anth', alongside several emojis.
Anthea also revealed her relationship with all of Grant's three children remained strong despite their divorce and that Claudia even lived with her at one point.
When asked about wedding plans with Mark, she explained that COVID-19 disrupted everything - and tragically, both Mark's mum and her own mum passed away in that period.
She added that two of her stepdaughters got married soon after, meaning their own wedding plans were put on the back burner - but she insisted they'll still get around to it.
With her 65th birthday just a few weeks away, Anthea shared that ageing doesn't bother her in the slightest (pictured aged 32 in 1992)
The TV personality also said their recent break at Sandals Regency La Toc in Saint Lucia had been especially important.
In the interview, she put her age-defying looks down to the occasional Botox and filler but mainly credits ageless features to her skincare brand's Balm 6 product.
The star also revealed she has microneedling treatments with Lynton, a laser company, which she highly recommends.

Justin Bieber shares cryptic four-word post after he admitted to 'extremely selfish' behavior

Justin Bieber appeared online Saturday evening to share a vague post with his 294 million Instagram followers. The 31-year-old Canadian music artist — who gave fans a glimpse into his mansion on Friday — shared a closeup black and white selfie and added a cryptic caption. 'Broke another olive branch,' he wrote, along with a single dove emoji. The Yummy hitmaker didn't add any context, but he could be hinting at ending another friendship after a post shared by him in June included screenshots from a heated text exchange with a former buddy. In February a rep for the star told TMZ he's had a 'very transformative' past year, in which 'he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.' Just days ago the singer admitted to 'selfish' behavior in another social media caption. Engaging his online audience, he wrote, 'Let's have a good day, let's go outside. Get in nature.' Then he wrote, 'Thanking Jesus for his patience with me this morning. I can be extremely selfish and impatient yet Jesus always has his arms open toward me.' Justin released his surprise seventh studio album, SWAG, to great fanfare on July 11. Several songs make mention of his public persona, personal struggles, and his commitment to his wife Hailey and their baby son Jack Blues, who will turn one this month. There is also a theme of interludes featuring comedian Druski, in which Justin engages in candid 'therapy sessions' with the social media star. Rumors have recently circulated that the music sensation will tour Australia following the album release. Justin has not confirmed whether he will be touring, nor has Frontier Touring, who told Rolling Stone it had no information on any potential Australian tour dates. The hitmaker previously cancelled his Justice world tour in 2022 for health reasons. On Friday the Honest crooner gave his Instagram followers a peek inside the $26 million Beverly Hills mansion he shares with wife Hailey Bieber. He shared a brief reel as he joined the 'slide city' internet challenge inspired by a lyric from his hit song Yukon. Justin was dressed in red basketball shorts and a white T-shirt as he slid across his hardwood kitchen floor in a pair of knit socks. Hailey, 28, made a cameo appearance as she was shown in the background wearing black leggings and a black pullover sweatshirt.

Your weekly tarot horoscope reading for August 4 to August 10

The Aquarius Full Moon this week opens the way to releasing emotional attachments to old ideas or labels that no longer define who we are. It's a time to challenge the status quo with consideration and compassion, but firmness too. Making ripples that ease your passing, not waves that hold you captive, treading water to survive. Let's ask the tarot cards: where in my life am I ready to break free — and how can I do it with balance and integrity? Looking for more emotive, detailed, game-changing insight? Come see me for a reading via Etsy. March 21 to April 20 Tarot card for Aries for this week: Knight of Wands Meaning: You need more room for spontaneous, fun, adventurous activity that simply feels good in the moment. Aries folk need this kind of stimulus; it's the fire in their veins that demands it, otherwise they can feel pent-up and restricted. Don't make an argument out of it. Just start setting aside time for fun. Invite those who might disapprove of you and show them a good time! Who could resist you in full flow? Head here for everything you need to know about being an Aries April 21 to May 21 Tarot card for Taurus for this week: Queen of Swords Meaning: You need to think about something important for yourself, on your own terms, and based on your emerging, new values and opinions. Your mind has changed recently. Your outlook has been updated. Others haven't caught up to this, and still think you think like they do. Let your mentality incubate and get stronger, form your case and stance internally, fact-checked and robust. This is a tussle of intellect, don't let emotion cloud that. All you're asking for is space to have your own opinion. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Taurus May 22 to June 21 Tarot card for Gemini for this week: Seven of Swords Meaning: There are duplicitous and unkind folk in your circle who cling to you, even though they don't really like you or have good intentions. They feed on your aura and enjoy sabotaging or observing your struggles. Gemini, for too long, you've let these people close to you. It's time to close the door firmly and fully. Block, detach, quit, sever ties. They deserve it. They have asked for this time and again. Give them what they've asked for. And give yourself peace. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Gemini June 22 to July 23 Tarot card for Cancer for this week: Six of Swords Meaning: The Universe is going to open an Exit door for you this week, and you should see the signs and elegantly walk through it. No one will mind, no one will object. This exit has been at least six months in the making, i.e. you're overthinking it. Just take the golden opportunity to go without issue. Say goodbye and practice gratitude for what you have learnt or gained here, but know in your heart that this is exactly the right moment to make your departure. There's nothing good to be had from remaining in this role/place/relationship. It's time. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Cancer July 24 to August 23 Tarot card for Leo for this week: Justice Meaning: You are being treated extremely unfairly, if not even illegally! You are being held hostage by a darker force's intent and ability to manipulate or emotionally blackmail you to stay where they like you (probably where they can see and control you). It's time to end this situation. If you need legal help, get it. At the very least, consult some kind of professional body. Many folks have been through what you're going through – there's a playbook already. Find it and use it. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Leo August 24 to September 23 Tarot card for Virgo for this week: The Lovers Meaning: Although you feel great passion and love here, you also resent some of the dynamics and habits you're prey to here, even if they're self-created. Use the goodwill you share to have an open and no-holds-barred discussion about it. Listen more than you talk, but make your words count. Be direct and truthful. And expect a few fireworks or choppy exchanges. But clear the air, say your piece, and make room for the two of you to realign and recalibrate in a better dynamic. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Virgo September 24 to October 23 Tarot card for Libra for this week: Ten of Cups Meaning: You are in love with someone, or something, and you really want things to be perfect, you have an idealised 'vision of love' in your heart that this relationship or role doesn't always measure up to. And should it? Maybe if you stopped comparing reality with the ideal, you might accept reality a lot easier. Maybe the ideal isn't realistic. Maybe you can get what you need that you don't get here, from other connections, activities, roles or projects. One person can't fulfil everything! Let go of your expectations and see what happens and how you feel. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Libra October 24 to November 22 Tarot card for Scorpio for this week: Three of Coins Meaning: People pleasing is exhausting, right? And you're not typically a people pleaser, you march to your own drum, but recently you've had to smooth the way with extra-special attention and consideration to other folks' needs, ideas, and even whims. Enough. You have put the effort in, now let them. You have worked hard to create a robust, healthy, positive environment for things to thrive in… and if they don't, then it's not on you any longer. It wasn't meant to be. Find out this week! Head here for everything you need to know about being a Scorpio November 23 to December 21 Tarot card for Sagittarius for this week: Eight of Swords Meaning: You have been comparing yourself to others a lot recently, and assuming or projecting that you know what they think of you. Second-guessing other people's opinions is exhausting, and usually fruitless because you honestly have no idea what they think (they probably think very little, everyone is too busy agonising over their own realm). Release this habit this week. Notice yourself doing it, and distract yourself mentally – whether it's mantras, music, reading – till it goes away! You will feel so much better about yourself. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Sagittarius December 22 to January 21 Tarot card for Capricorn for this week: Knight of Coins Meaning: Working so hard has got you where you are, but what's the point of all that effort if you can't enjoy the spoils of your labour? This week, let go of your (impossible) demands and standards. Step back and take some time out for you, just to relax and enjoy yourself. Even if it's just pottering. We all need to decompress, unwind, recalibrate and you're overdue a tune-up! So, the tarot says be lazy! You have the cosmos' permission this week. Head here for everything you need to know about being a Capricorn January 22 to February 19 Tarot card for Aquarius for this week: Two of Wands Meaning: You are feeling stuck because you've kept several options or onwards pathways open and accessible, instead of discerning your best option and executing it. And there's now too much going on and too many demands pulling you in different directions. Release the need to keep all of your options open, it's not realistic. Make a plan. Discuss your priorities. Research the risks or unanswered questions. Decide. Act. Feel a lot clearer and lighter. Head here for everything you need to know about being an Aquarius February 20 to March 20 Tarot card for Pisces for this week: Seven of Wands Meaning: You are embroiled in some kind of competition, rivalry, feud or target that you really don't need (or want) to participate in. It's likely that someone is jealous of you, or is using you as a step to climb up to where they want to be. Pisces, don't let this continue. Withdraw. Exit. Retreat. More Trending Stop responding. Stop retaliating or giving this airtime. Your silence will quell their need and maybe make them realise this is a little embarrassing on their part!
