The 65-year-old TV presenter - who released her healthy lifestyle book, How to Age Well: The Secrets, in 2021 - met 59-year-old businessman Mark Armstrong in 2019, and as she has been vocal about being active and ditching processed foods, it has motivated him to improve his body. ‌ In an interview with Woman's Weekly magazine, she said: "Mark is definitely healthier since he met me." ‌ The couple enjoy making "good food from scratch" in their London home, instead of going out to restaurants. Anthea said: "We live in London but don't go out to restaurants much. Mark comes from an Italian family who cooked and by osmosis, he learnt from being in the kitchen with his grandma and mum. "We both enjoy creating good food from scratch." Article continues below The former Blue Peter presenter and Mark "feel married" even though they have delayed their getting hitched multiple times. Anthea - who previously said the loss of her and Mark's mothers and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic were factors in the pair postponing their nuptials - added: "We talk about it, then we don't talk about it, and then something happens. "Of course, we feel married because we've been together for six years." ‌ The star - who insisted she and Mark will tie the knot one day - insisted the pair are "very connected", and she cherishes their relationship. In an interview with Bella magazine in May, she said: "We haven't sorted out the wedding - we have to get our act together. "I don't want the faff of organising anything abroad, so it will be in the UK. ‌ "God knows how many bridesmaids I'm going to have!" The former Top of the Pops presenter was next married to TV personality Grant Bovey, 64, from 2000 until 2015. ‌ Anthea became a stepmother to Grant's three daughters - Lily, 33, Amelia, 32, and Claudia, 29 - when the pair got married in 2000, and despite her separation from their dad, she is still actively involved in their lives and they share a special bond. She said: "Being a stepmum for me is one of my favourite roles. "I love all three of my stepdaughters, and we have a great bond. Article continues below "I wasn't lucky enough to have my own children, but I knew I would adore these three little girls who were quite young when they came into my life. "I'm so lucky to have them in my life despite the fact that their dad and I are no longer together."

Diver, fisherman air more claims of Perth Diving Academy leaving people at sea

New allegations have surfaced about a Perth dive company which is under investigation for leaving two scuba divers behind in the ocean. Ian Kensington and Ryan Chaudhry were on a diving expedition off Hillarys with Perth Diving Academy in March, when their chartered boat returned to shore without them. The brothers said they thought they were going to die and were in the water for almost an hour before being rescued by a ferry that was returning from Rottnest Island. The ABC can now reveal two more incidents where people diving with Perth Diving Academy were rescued by passing boats. Perth woman, Anthea, who does not want her surname used, has recalled how she and her dive buddy were picked up by two passing fishermen after drifting away from their dive group eight years ago. Anthea was taking part in a scuba diving course with the company in February 2017, also off the coast of Hillarys. She said she was buddied up with a German woman who was panicking about the large swell and was refusing to submerge. Anthea said their dive instructor had already gone underwater with the other divers. "I was trying to convince her that we just need to catch up, basically, with the others and she just did not want to go down at all," Anthea told ABC Radio Perth. "I said, that's OK, let's just go back to the boat. I grabbed her and we turned around and, I was like, 'we can't swim that, that is so far'." The pair had drifted away from the boat, which Anthea said looked like a "speck on the horizon". "She was so scared. I ended up rolling her onto her back, took her weight belt off her and just blew her BCD (buoyancy control device). Anthea estimated they were in the water for about half an hour before she waved down a passing boat with two fishermen on board, who picked them up and returned them to the dive boat. Anthea said when the fishermen asked the dive crew if they were missing two divers, everyone just laughed. "Everyone was pretty much back on board. I saw the diver instructor and they just cheered and clapped for us. And it was just sort of like laughed off. "Everyone was just about to have lunch. There was no real panic. "I don't know if we weren't gone long enough … but definitely felt like they didn't even realise until the fishermen came up." Anthea said she did not make a formal complaint. In another incident two fishermen said they picked up a scuba diver who had been drifting in the sea near Rottnest Island about 10 years ago. Noel Ferguson recounted how he saw something in the distance, and as they got closer realised it was a person in the water, waving at them and very distressed. "I just reached down and grabbed her by the scruff and pulled her up on deck. It was a French woman," Mr Ferguson said. "She started crying. She was just out of energy. She was done. And yeah, we were just sort of saying, what's going on? "She said that the current was too strong for her down there and she got pulled away from the safety rope down there. "She drifted away and couldn't hold on. And then she popped up and just drifted further and further away from the boat." He said they then returned the woman to a Perth Diving Academy boat. "When we rocked up there, I said … have you lost something? And we like pointed at her and he's like, 'oh f**k'. Mr Ferguson said he expected a higher level of concern. "There was no seriousness about it," he said The man fishing with Mr Ferguson that day has corroborated his version of events. The ABC asked Perth Diving Academy Hillarys specific questions about the two incidents. In a written statement, company director Troy Lane said diver safety was its highest priority. "We are proud of our long-standing commitment to best practice in recreational diving, community education, and marine conservation," he said. "With regard to the historical incidents raised, our internal review has not identified any verified records matching the descriptions provided, nor do they align with our operational procedures. "As such, we are unable to comment further on the specific allegations. "We remain focused on fostering a culture of continuous safety, professionalism, and respect within the diving community." The Australian Maritime Safety Authority is still investigating the incident involving Mr Kensington and Mr Chaudhry.

Kyle Wright's inspiring victory over cancer: a celebration of kindness

When 33-year-old Kyle Wright entered the radiotherapy unit of the hospital for his final treatment session, he was met with an unexpected celebration—one that would match the warmth of his spirit. Born with cerebral palsy, Kyle had recently completed a month-long radiation therapy for testicular cancer, a journey he faced with resilience and positivity. Kyle's affinity for Netcare 911 began when he was just 16 years old. A medical emergency had necessitated an ambulance ride from Howick to Netcare St Anne's Hospital. Despite the pain and distress, he specifically requested the ambulance crew to sound the siren, and from that moment on, his admiration for the EMTs transformed into a lifelong bond. 'He has been Netcare 911's number one supporter since then,' Kyle's mother, Anthea Wright, recounts fondly. Throughout his treatments, Kyle's cheerful demeanor brightened the days of both patients and staff alike. Dristi Bramdeo, a radiotherapist, noted, 'Every time Kyle set foot in the unit, his kindness and positivity lit up the waiting room.' The small gestures he made, like bringing stunning roses with handwritten notes, created an atmosphere of love and hope in a place often filled with anxiety. Reshma Naidoo, the radiotherapy oncology administrator at the hospital, shared that Kyle's enthusiasm for Netcare 911 was palpable. 'He once gave me a rose along with a Netcare 911 awareness leaflet, urging me to reach out to our emergency medical service heroes should I ever need help,' she said, reflecting on the young man's caring nature. To honour Kyle's unyielding spirit, embrace his kindness, and celebrate the end of his treatment, Naidoo devised a surprise farewell party, complete with colourful decorations, snacks, and a bell-ringing ceremony, a tradition for all patients completing their treatment. However, they wanted to take it a step further and reached out to Netcare 911's regional operations manager, Shaun Paul, for assistance. What transpired was an extraordinary tribute that exceeded all expectations. Anthea detailed how Kyle's fascination with Netcare 911 has not waned over the years. At 20, he longed for a uniform, which was graciously gifted as an honorary suit thanks to an appeal made by his mother. 'He has kept it pristine in his cupboard, and to this day, it stands as one of his most prized possessions,' she said. From birthday surprises to the consistent support from the medical team, Kyle's connection with Netcare runs deep. 'During his treatment, he was so cheerful and engaging that we couldn't help but look forward to seeing him. He brought roses to lift spirits—he truly is a treasure,' Paul stated, reflecting on the day's events. On 17 April, Netcare Parklands Hospital transformed its radiotherapy department into a festive arena that celebrated Kyle's victory over cancer. The triumphant send-off was marked by a thrilling parade of ambulances and response vehicles, with Kyle in a Netcare 911 flight suit, radiant with joy as he sat in the front passenger seat—all sirens blaring. 'The smile on his face was priceless, showing us the profound joy we could bring to our beloved supporter,' Paul recalled. As the day came to a close, Anthea expressed her family's overwhelming gratitude, saying, 'Your care is phenomenal. We are immensely thankful to everyone, especially the Hopelands Cancer Centre, the Radiotherapy Department, and the entire Netcare 911 team for showering Kyle with kindness and support.'
