36.47% of 7.90 cr electors submit forms by July 7; 1.18 cr in last 24 hrs: EC on Bihar SIR
The exercise is progressing smoothly with the active cooperation of the electors.
As of Monday, at 6.00 PM, 2,87,98,460 Enumeration Forms, i.e. 36.47 per cent of the total of 7,89,69,844 (nearly 7.90 crore) electors in Bihar who are enrolled as on June 24, 2025, have been received.
In the last 24 hours, i.e. from 6.00 PM yesterday, 1,18,49,252 Enumeration Forms have been collected. There are still 18 days to go until the last date for submitting forms.
The uploading of forms has also started in full swing, with 7.25 per cent of the forms already uploaded so far.
Meanwhile, on the revision of the electoral roll in Bihar, BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra said, 'This is a special drive, a special intensive revision by the Election Commission. The last revision of the voter list in Bihar was carried out in 2003. This is a healthy tradition and should be carried out regularly; otherwise, we cannot hope for a fair and transparent election. There has been a huge demographic change in Bihar, and things will become clear after the revision of the list.'
The partially filled forms are also available for download on the ECI portal (https://voters.eci.gov.in) and the ECINET App. Electors can upload the filled forms themselves on the ECINET App.
77,895 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are going house-to-house to help the electors fill out their Enumeration Forms and collect them. In many cases, the BLOs are taking live pictures of the electors and uploading them, thereby saving the electors the trouble of getting their photos taken.
Additionally, 20,603 BLOs are being appointed for the smooth and timely completion of the process. Nearly 4 lakh volunteers, including government officials, NCC cadets, NSS members, etc., are also working in the field to facilitate the elderly, PwDs, sick, and vulnerable populations in the SIR process. Additionally, 239 EROs, covering all 243 ACs, 963 AEROS, 38 DEOs, and the CEO of the state are at the ground level to facilitate electors in submitting their forms.
1,54,977 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by various political parties are also providing active support in the SIR process. (ANI)

Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Saturday while addressing the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar said that it is "another way to get back NRC" and alleged that the government wants to impose "authoritarian" rule in the country. The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the Election Commission to continue with its exercise of conducting a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. A bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Joymalya Bagchi did not stay the SIR process but asked the ECI to consider allowing Aadhaar, ration cards, and electoral photo identity cards as admissible documents to prove voter identity during the SIR of electoral rolls being undertaken in Bihar. "We are of the prima facie opinion that in the interest of justice, the Election Commission will also include documents like Aadhaar, Ration Card, Voter ID card, etc.. It is for the ECI to decide whether it wants to accept the documents or not, and if it does not, then provide reasons for its decision, which shall be sufficient to satisfy the petitioners. Meanwhile, petitioners are not pressing for an interim stay," the bench stated in its order. In its order, the top court noted that the timeline for the process is very short since elections in Bihar are due in November.

Operation Kalanemi: 23 fake babas arrested in Uttarakhand
On the instructions of the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, "Operation Kalanemi" has been started against the impersonators who cheat people in the name of religion by playing with their feelings and beliefs in Devbhoomi. Uttarakhand police have arrested 23 fake babas roaming around in the guise of saints and sadhus.(ANI) According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh, the arrested individuals were allegedly preying on people's religious sentiments and were involved in duping unsuspecting victims. While speaking to ANI, the SSP said, "Under this campaign, the police took action in various police station areas on Saturday and arrested 23 fake babas roaming around in the guise of saints and sadhus. Among the arrested fake babas, 10 persons are residents of other states." The Chief Minister has instructed to identify all such persons and take strict action against them. As part of the initiative, Dehradun Police on Saturday arrested 23 individuals posing as sadhus in different areas of the district. Singh told ANI, "In line with the instructions, all the station in-charges have been instructed to identify such persons in their respective police station areas, who disguise themselves as saints and mislead people, especially women and youth, and lure them to solve their personal or domestic problems and commit fraud with them, and take strict action against them." Meanwhile, Hindu religious groups welcome Uttarakhand Govt's 'Op Kalanemi' targeting fake seers. 'Operation Kalanemi' is a campaign against anti-social elements who are hurting religious sentiments and duping people under the pretext of 'Sanatan Dharma' by posing as seers, and have called for strict action against such fake people. President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Ravindra Puri, welcomed this decision and asserted that strict action should be taken against the people who cheat Kanwariyas. Speaking to ANI about this initiative, Puri said, "Kanwar is being conducted in Haridwar and we welcome this decision by the Chief Minister and thank him as well... The fake saints ask for money from and cheat Kanwariya and abuse those who refuse to give money; these people should be subjected to strict action... Our Chief Minister's vision is a safe Uttarakhand, and doing justice to all the Kanwariya and all of us are with him." The president of Akhand Parshuram Akhada stated that the Aadhar cards of such imposters should be verified, and action must be taken against such people. "We welcome this campaign... There are some fake seers who bring disgrace to our respected saints, the Aadhar card of such imposters should be checked... Bihar electoral roll revision: EC ahead of July 25 deadline, over 80% enumeration forms collected so far
With 14 more days left before the last date of collection of enumeration forms in the ongoing special intensive revision in Bihar, the Election Commission of India on Saturday said that it had established direct contact with nearly all electors in the state. The ECI also said over 80 per cent electors had submitted their forms, adding that the commission is well ahead of the stipulated time to finish the collection by July 25. In a statement released on Saturday, the poll panel also said that additional 20,000 booth-level officers have been appointed in Bihar to finish the collection of the enumeration forms. 'With 77,895 BLOs, an additional 20,603 newly appointed BLOs on ground, ECI is moving ahead to the complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) will before the stipulated time of 25th July 2025,' the ECI said. The poll panel said that 1.5 lakh booth-level agents (BLAs) appointed by all political parties are visiting door to door and 'leaving no stones unturned to ensure inclusion of each and every existing elector whose names are in the electoral roll in Bihar as on June 24, 2025". Special efforts are also being made to assist senior citizens, PwD electors, and other valuable groups by over four lakh volunteers, the statement said. 'Having completed 100% printing and near completion of distribution of EFs to all electors who were found at their addresses, as of 6pm today collection crossed 6,32,59,496 or 80.11%. Which means 4 out of every 5 5 electors in Bihar has submitted the EF. With this pace, majority of EFs are likely to be collected much before 25th July 2025,' it said.
