It's no secret that just 49 games into her WNBA career, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is already one of the best rebounders in the league.

On the year, Reese is currently averaging more rebounds per game (12.3) than she is averaging for points (11.7). While her rebounding makes her a critical piece of the Sky's future and is a major strength of her game, her offensive limitations have been weaponized against her on social media.
Reese has been spotted multiple times putting in extra work, finishing around the rim, and has also made an effort to extend her range. She has already made more threes (4) through 15 games this season than she did all of last season (3).
However, even with this in mind, fans have been relentless in poking fun at the fact that they feel many of her rebounds stem from her misses. The joke became so common that Bhen of the "Club 520 Podcast," which features former NBA player Jeff Teague, invented the phrase "Mebounds" to mock her.
While Reese could have easily ignored the scrutiny, she turned the phrase into something that benefits others. She trademarked the phrase and has begun selling merch, with an undisclosed amount of the revenue going to cyberbullying prevention.

She also revealed to the Chicago Sun-Times that the reception to the merchandise has been quite lucrative.

'You would have never thought I made six figures in, literally, a day off of that,' Reese told the Chicago Sun-Times. 'And y'all can continue to troll me, but I turned this into a positive.'
That's certainly one way to get back at those who are more interested in mocking her.
As for what's next for her and the Sky, they will be looking to get back in the win column on Sunday against the Los Angeles Sparks after dropping Friday's game against the Golden State Valkyries.

Former Fever Player Reveals Striking Similarity Between Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers

Former Fever Player Reveals Striking Similarity Between Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. NaLyssa Smith, who the Indiana Fever traded to the Dallas Wings in February, has the privilege of having been teammates with both Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers. Advertisement Smith played alongside Clark during the latter's historic rookie campaign last year, and the 6-foot-4 forward is now teammates with Bueckers in the former UConn star's debut season. Smith spoke to reporters on Friday ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between the Fever and the Wings, and one of the things she opened up on is the striking similarity between Clark and Bueckers. According to Smith, playing alongside two of the top young stars in the WNBA provides a similar experience for her in terms of fan reception. 'It's the same experience,' Smith said, via Nathan Baird of IndyStar. 'Going on the road, they all sound like home games, too. They're cheering loud for Paige and for the team. They're very similar environments. Advertisement 'That's why them two together in this arena — it's going to be insane.' Former Indiana Fever forward NaLyssa Smith (1) shares in an interview a similarity between Caitlin Clark and Paige McSchooler/for IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK Much like Clark did last season, Bueckers has also taken the WNBA by storm as a rookie. As Smith pointed out, the fact that Bueckers draws in hordes of fans during road games is a testament to this fact. Unfortunately, Clark and Bueckers' first meeting had to be postponed. This was after the Fever superstar was ruled out of Friday's game due to a groin injury. As Smith said, the first-ever WNBA clash between these two would be "insane," but at this point, the fans will need to wait a bit more before it finally happens. Dallas Wings Coach Issues Statement on Paige Bueckers' Injury After Big Game Against Fever

Dallas Wings Coach Issues Statement on Paige Bueckers' Injury After Big Game Against Fever originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Paige Bueckers went off for the Dallas Wings on Friday night, dropping a team-high 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting, with six assists, two steals, two blocks and two triples against the Indiana Fever. Advertisement Unfortunately for Dallas, Bueckers' offensive explosion still wasn't enough to carry them to a victory against a Fever side that was missing the services of the injured Caitlin Clark. In the end, Indiana scored a big road win against the Wings, 94-86. Bueckers, though, ended up on the sidelines on Saturday night as Dallas played in the second night of a back-to-back set. The Wings ruled their star guard out against the Washington Mystics due to a right knee injury. Head coach Chris Kolcanes spoke to reporters before the Mystics game and revealed that the issue is not serious. Advertisement "Just precautionary, some soreness," Kolcanes said, via Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints. "Just doing our due diligence and managing what's best for her long-term health." Bueckers' absence from the Mystics game came as a bit of a surprise, considering how she looked perfectly fine against Indiana. Based on Kolcanes' statement, it appears that the decision to have her sit out on Saturday involved wanting to give the No. 1 overall pick some rest on the second night of a back-to-back. As such, barring any unforeseen setbacks, Bueckers should be back in action in Dallas' next game, which will be on Thursday against the Phoenix Mercury. Dallas Wings' First Win Without Paige Bueckers Draws the WNBA's Attention

Dallas Wings' First Win Without Paige Bueckers Draws the WNBA's Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Wings improved to 5-13 on Saturday night with a 79-71 home victory over the Washington Mystics. Advertisement Rookie JJ Quinerly dropped a career-high 15 points in her first career start to help lead Dallas to a much-needed win following Friday night's disappointing loss to a Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever. Quinerly got the start against Washington after Paige Bueckers was ruled out for the game due to a knee injury. Saturday's victory against the Mystics marked the Wings' first win of the season without Bueckers in the lineup. The former UConn star missed her fifth game of her rookie campaign on Friday. Bueckers sat out four straight contests earlier this season due to a concussion and then an illness. The Wings lost all four of those games with the No. 1 overall pick sidelined. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (5).David Butler II-Imagn Images Dallas turned a page on Friday, though, as they proved that they are still capable of winning without their star guard. Their victory against the Mystics drew a reaction from the WNBA on social media. Advertisement "The Dallas Wings defeat the Washington Mystics 79-71 and have now won 4 out of their last 6 games! 👏" the league posted on X. The WNBA also highlighted Quinerly's strong outing in the win as the rookie turned in the best performance of her fledgling career. Quinerly, though, will likely return to a bench role when the Wings return to action on Thursday against the Phoenix Mercury. Dallas head coach Chris Kolcanes said before Saturday's game that Bueckers' injury absence was merely "precautionary," which means that she should be on track to return in their next game.
