Golf star admits to being DRUNK and throwing up on the course during PGA Tour tournament

Daily Mail23-06-2025
Drinking on the golf course isn't exactly uncommon - both among amateurs and PGA Tour pros in years past.
However, German golfer Marcel Siem may have had a bit too much to drink when he took part in the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach in 2015.
But that hardly hindered his performance, with Siem coming just a single stroke away from breaking the course record at the iconic golf track.
Siem is best known for his accomplishments on the European Tour - now the DP World Tour - where he won eight events, including the BMW Masters.
But of the 35 PGA Tour events he has competed in since 2004, one of his best performances came at the 2015 Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
After missing the cut at the same tournament the year prior, Siem and his caddy decided to 'change the system' and got plastered the night before.

Siem stayed out until 6:00am drinking with his caddie in 2015 before teeing off at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am two hours later and carding a miraculous 63 at the legendary course
Siem said that he's had 'three course records in my life, completely hammered without sleep.' That's not technically true, as he came a stroke shy of tying the record at Pebble Beach.
He continued: 'Three-putted 18 to shoot... 62 [actually, 63] and I didn't even know about it.'
All that came after a long night where Siem and his caddy over-indulged with a boozy combination of multiple Long Island Iced Teas, 'five pints', before 'end[ing] up with champagne, which was totally weird.'
The next morning was a rough one for Siem, who had an 8:00am tee time after being on a drinking session until 6:00am.
Siem admitted to being in rough shape and vomiting 'twice' that round. In spite of this, he ended up shooting a third round 63 - shooting him up the leaderboard after carding seven birdies and an eagle while never recording anything worse than par.
But he said that he had fun because he was paired with surfing legend Kelly Slater.
While Siem was adamant that Slater 'didn't know' how hammered he was until he told the surfer after the round, the video got Slater's attention.
The surfer commented, 'Haha. You told me during the round. I think you forgot!'
Slater also added a tidbit about that famous 63 round: 'He also forgot to mention he didn't make a birdie after 13 or 14 and was on 59 watch for half the round. Flopped an eagle in from deep rough on 6. From memory he was maybe 6 under through 7. A wild round.'

Tour de France 2025: Tim Merlier claims stage nine as Van der Poel bid falls just short

Tim Merlier out-sprinted Jonathan Milan to victory on stage nine of the Tour de France after Mathieu van der Poel almost pulled off an audacious win in Chateauroux. Van der Poel had rolled off the front of the peloton alongside his Alpecin–Deceuninck teammate Jonas Rickaert at the start of the 174km stage from Chinon in what looked a certain suicide mission, but the Dutchman held off the chasing pack until the final few hundred metres. The Alpecin-Deceuninck adventure had forced rival teams to burn their lead-out men in a furious chase through crosswinds in the final 30km of the stage, and with the sprint trains thoroughly depleted the quick men had to fend for themselves at the finale. Milan, Saturday's stage winner, had good position on the barriers but Merlier went long and the European champion pipped the Italian to the line. 'It was really hard,' said Merlier, who also won stage three into Dunkirk. 'Five minutes [to Van der Poel] is a lot but we tried to chase and also the other teams start to help, the pacing was quite high at the front, but it was hard for all the guys. The bunch was nervous. In the end we just went all in and I'm happy I can win my second stage here.' There has been debate in recent days about the long-term value of flat sprint stages in the Tour, with the fight for UCI points meaning fewer teams can be tempted into breakaways, but this one certainly delivered some drama. Chateauroux, this week renamed Cavendish City in honour of Sir Mark, who took the first of his Tour-record 35 career stage victories here in 2008, has only ever known sprints in its history in the race, but Van der Poel did his best to break that streak. When he and Rickaert went early, it looked like a play purely for the intermediate sprint points, but they rolled through that line early in the day and just kept going, building a lead of more than five minutes. Even as teams furiously fought for position in the wind behind, the lead still held at 50 seconds with 10km to go as splits appeared in the peloton. Rickaert fell back with 6km left and it became a straight fight between the powerful but shattered Van der Poel and some disorganised lead-out trains behind. It would go the peloton's way, but Van der Poel got at least one wish with Rickaert being named the most combative rider of the day. 'We wanted to go for it today because it's his dream to be on the podium of a Tour de France,' Van der Poel said. 'It's hard not to be able to finish it off but we put up a good show today.' There was no change at the top of the general classification, with Tadej Pogacar remaining 54sec clear of Remco Evenepoel. Jonas Vingegaard is behind Kévin Vauquelin in fourth, 1min 17sec off yellow. However, there was a blow for Pogacar as UAE Team Emirates teammate João Almeida abandoned the race as a result of injuries suffered on stage seven. GB's Pidcock wins cross-country World Cup race in Andorra

Great Britain's Tom Pidcock won gold in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup cross-country race in Andorra as fellow Briton Charlie Aldridge clinched Olympic champion Pidcock started from the fourth row on the grid in Pal Arinsal but quickly moved into the lead group on lap former world champion then led from the halfway stage after overtaking French champion Luca Martin, whose mechanical fault further widened the gap between the returning to mountain biking for the first time since he won bronze at last year's World Championships having focused on the road this season, claimed his eighth World Cup XCO, external win as he crossed the line in one hour, 20 minutes and 30 came second, 21 seconds behind Pidcock, with Aldridge, 24, in third."It's super nice to finally win here - kind of a home race - after a few years coming here," said 25-year-old Pidcock, who lives in Andorra. "Not an easy place to race, that's for sure. Racing at this height [Pal Arinsal village sits at 1,550m altitude], it's not like you can find more oxygen anywhere."The lack of experience in the races this year certainly played in my favour. I didn't puncture, I didn't have any problems."I was most nervous about the start, obviously if I went backwards from the fourth row, I would have been really far back."Pidcock is not likely to race in any more Mountain Bike World Cups this year or September's World Championships, which take place at the same time as the final Grand Tour of the season on the road, the Vuelta a Espana, where he has said he will race for the overall Britain's former world champion Evie Richards came sixth in the women's race.

Paige Spiranac's 'perfect' golf outfit turns heads as influencer posts raunchy new video

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac turned heads with a raunchy practice video on Friday ahead of the Internet Innovational. Spiranac will compete at the Barstool Sports-sponsored tournament on August 12 against the likes of Grant Horvat, J.R. Smith and Jon Gruden. And Spiranac offered a glimpse into her preparations as she treated her fans to a video of her practicing in a pink halter dress. Spiranac posed and smiled for the camera in slow motion, while a song with the lyrics 'baby how you f*** with my head' played in the background. The social media star captioned the post 'Practice makes perfect,' and the video was certainly a hit with fans. 'Killing it,' one wrote. Practice makes perfect⛳️ — Paige Spiranac (@PaigeSpiranac) July 11, 2025 'It would be a dream come true to play a round of golf with you,' another said. And a third said: 'I'm betting on you winning!' Spiranac, who previously pursued a career as a pro golfer before gaining online fame, shared a theory last month about how to perform better on the course. She dressed in more conservative attire during a recent trip to the course as she wore a buttoned-up polo shirt and shorts. And after she performed below her best, she shared a theory with her fans. 'If you've been following me for awhile you know I have this working theory that I play better when I wear less clothes,' she wrote on X above a photo of her in the polo. 'Can confirm that science is right once again. I played like [poop emoji] today.' Spiranac announced some big news in May as she announced she'd be joining the Grass League - the first high-stakes par 3 golf league. While she didn't confirm the exact nature of her position, the Grass League announced that 'golf's most influential female voice' would be joining in a 'strategic leadership role.' 'A trailblazer in both professional golf and modern sports media, Spiranac will work closely with league leadership to shape the long-term vision and growth strategy for The Grass League,' a press release read. 'Her role will encompass brand development, storytelling, creative, business development and overall content and audience strategy, positioning the league to scale it's reach across digital, broadcast, and live experiences.
