CM Naidu unveils development agenda in Tirupati; vows plastic-free Andhra, clean politics

TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday unveiled a comprehensive development agenda for the State, emphasising a commitment to public hygiene, technological innovation, and a decisive purge of criminal elements from politics. He also set a target to make the Secretariat plastic-free by August 15 and extend the ban to all municipalities by October, implementing a statewide ban by December.
Addressing the gathering in Tirupati's 'Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra' programme, Naidu articulated his vision for 'Swarnandhra Pradesh' (Golden Andhra Pradesh) through 'Swachhandhra Pradesh' (Clean Andhra Pradesh), drawing parallels with Japan's renowned cleanliness culture. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Andhra Pradesh securing five Swachh Survekshan national awards, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness.
Emphasising promoting reusable items such as steel glasses and raising awareness among government employees to lead by example, he urged citizens to 'chase away the plastic ghost,' promoting recycling and the concept of 'waste not being waste.'
On the occasion, Naidu outlined several ambitious projects aimed at propelling Andhra Pradesh into a new era of development. A 'Quantum Valley' will be established in Amaravati, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and aiming to make the capital a hub for quantum technology. Additionally, a 'Green Hydrogen Valley' will be established for clean electricity production, leveraging green hydrogen to combat pollution.
Furthermore, a weather information app is slated for launch to provide advanced weather information to the public. By August 15, approximately 700 government services will be accessible through WhatsApp Governance (Mana Mitra), streamlining public interaction with the administration.
The Chief Minister committed to the speedy completion of the Mallemadugu and Balaji Reservoirs. A significant promise was also made to bring Handri-Neeva waters via Kalyani Dam to Tirumala, specifically to the feet of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, and to Tirupati.
Addressing concerns of the populace, Naidu announced that DSC recruitments would be completed by August 20. Furthermore, he confirmed the implementation of free bus travel for women across the State starting August 15, a key promise under his government's 'Super Six' schemes. He also highlighted the successful implementation of the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, providing financial support to mothers based on the number of their children.

The summit, a landmark event in strengthening economic ties between AP and the UAE, saw the participation of the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. A significant highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Investopia, marking a new chapter in bilateral economic collaboration. Naidu emphasised AP's strategic location on India's eastern coast, serving as a vital link between northern and southern India. CM aims to attract USD120 billion investments for State in one year He showcased the state's immense potential in sectors such as oil and gas, food processing, mining, tourism, hospitality, and technology. 'Andhra Pradesh is open for business,' Naidu declared, assuring investors of a seamless process with his personal supervision to ensure swift project implementation. 'Our policies are designed to make AP a magnet for global capital,' he added, inviting investors to tap into the state's diverse industries. Hosted at a private hotel in Vijayawada, the Investopia Global AP 2025 Summit underscored the growing synergy between AP and the UAE. Naidu expressed gratitude to Minister Al Marri for choosing Vijayawada to host the event, recalling his invitation to the UAE minister during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The summit facilitated high-level discussions on investment opportunities, focusing on infrastructure, technology, and green energy initiatives.

Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Dr Nadendla Manohar said the Government of Andhra Pradesh has unveiled a comprehensive strategy titled 'P4-programme' to eliminate poverty. He unveiled the Tenali division P4 Action Plan at a programme held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he announced that a dedicated website with full details of the initiative will soon be launched: He said that efforts are underway to engage NRIs and Tenali natives living in other regions, turning them into active partners in this mission. He said through their support, employment opportunities will be created for more women and youth. As part of India's Vision-2027, the coalition government aims to uplift 50-lakh families out of poverty by 2029 and added that this flagship initiative is a crucial step towards that goal. He emphasised that the P4 programme focuses on identifying and supporting economically backward communities and ensuring welfare and financial empowerment. He said the primary objective of P4 is to transform the poor families into 'Golden Families'. He said in the Tenali Assembly constituency alone, 14,280 families have already been identified as 'Golden Families.' Of these, 376 volunteers have come forward to support 3,289 individuals, providing mentorship and direct assistance. After data verification, these beneficiaries will receive help with livelihood opportunities, education, agriculture, bank loans, medical aid for chronic illness among others. He said a formal orientation session with these volunteer mentors will soon be conducted in Tenali. Tenali sub-collector Sanjana Simha, Tenali tahsildar Gopala Krishna, Kollipara tahsildar G Siddarth were among those who participated.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday inaugurated Investopia Global-Andhra Pradesh-2025 here, highlighting the state's emergence as a key destination for investment, backed by a robust pro-industry environment as well as natural endowments, including a 1000-km coastline, fertile land, green cover, water, wind, and solar energy, apart from ports, airports and strategic location. The Chief Minister underscored that the state, already a hub for agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture as well as cash crops, was strong in technology, the digital economy, and human resources. Naidu asserted that Andhra Pradesh would lead in areas such as drones, electronics, and aerospace. "I assure you, not just in one area—name any field—and we will be number one. Drones, electronics, aerospace... all future technologies are our focus now," Naidu said. The summit, focused on strengthening India- the UAE economic ties, saw the exchange of MoUs between the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Investopia. The Chief Minister lauded the UAE's visionary leadership, particularly in transforming Dubai into a global hub. He expressed his appreciation of Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri's for his clear and effective guidance. During the inaugural session, Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the strong relations between India and the UAE, noting that nearly 38 per cent of the UAE's population was of Indian origin. "The world is watching India now," he observed, pointing to India's demographic dividend, which is expected to last for at least the next 20 to 25 years. Observing 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the right leader for India at the right time', Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the impressive trade volume between India and the UAE, having reached $100 billion in 2024-25, with Andhra Pradesh contributing $1.5 billion to this figure. The Chief Minister reiterated Andhra Pradesh's ambitious development vision. Besides, the Chief Minister also announced a significant technological leap for the state. "Now, we are focusing on AI and quantum computing. With the collaboration of IBM, TCS, and L&T, we are establishing the country's Quantum Valley in Andhra Pradesh. Quantum computing operations will start in AP by January 1, 2026. If America has Silicon Valley, India will have Quantum Valley in Amaravati." According to the TDP supremo, Google is set to build its largest data centre outside the US in Vizag. Urging investors to partner with Andhra Pradesh, Naidu promised to take their initiatives to a "logical conclusion". "My government is totally online by making 575 services available through WhatsApp governance. By August 15, no citizen will need to go to any government office. All permissions will be given online with no need to go to any office." The Chief Minister outlined an ambitious economic vision for the state: "Our goal is to achieve a GSDP $2.4 trillion economy and a $43,000 per capita income by 2047. We want to build a healthy, wealthy, and happy society, with no poverty in AP." Naidu added that the state aimed to contribute 160 GW to the Centre's target of 500 GW in green energy production by 2030. He also introduced the P4 model, which encourages the top 10 per cent high-net-worth individuals to adopt the bottom 20 per cent of society to reduce inequality. Remarking that building trust would take time, he observed: "The investors are very important for wealth creation; they are our partners in progress. AP has changed gears from Ease of Doing Business to Speed of Doing Business. I'm assuring you time-bound completion of projects with all the required policy and infrastructural support." The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh's unique advantages, including its long coastline, ports, airports, strategic location, and rich natural resources. "Today, India is the best destination for investment, and AP has unique advantages of having a long coastline, ports, airports, strategic location, and rich natural resources like fertile land, green cover, water, wind, and solar energy. I welcome all the investors to make AP their investment destination." The Chief Minister concluded by announcing direct flights for Hajj from Amaravati soon and reiterated his commitment to mutual growth and timely project completion. UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Industries, Food Processing TG Bharath, Chief Secretary K Vijayanand, R Mukundan, president-designate, CII, and MD & CEO, Tata Chemicals and Yussuf Ali M.A., Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu International were among those present.
