Marcus Rashford makes his mark in second Barcelona appearance

Yahooa day ago
Manchester United's on loan star Marcus Rashford impressed once again as he grabbed an assist in FC Barcelona's 7-3 victory over Jesse Lingard's FC Seoul.
Impressed last time out
The 27-year-old impressed on his debut for Barcelona in their 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe.
He played a key role in their second goal of the game and was once again a threat in his second match.
Impact off the bench
The England international had to make do with another start from the bench but he managed to play the entire second half.
He grabbed an assist for Barcelona's seventh goal by expertly sliding in a through ball for Ferran Torres to slot home.
Earlier in the half, he almost scored his first goal for the Catalans.
In trademark fashion, Rashford expertly cut inside and unleashed a fearsome drive but it was parried away by the South Korean side's keeper.
He managed two shots on target to go alongside his assist, in an impressive all-round display.
The United academy graduate completed 15 of his 18 passing attempts and made one key pass.
The winger also competed in three ground duels, winning one and made one interception for his team.
Lingard reunion
The pre-season match provided the opportunity for Rashford to come up against his former teammate, Lingard.
The two played for the youth team and senior team together until Lingard left the club in 2022.
The Blaugrana will next take on South Korean side FC Daegu on the 4th August, where Rashford will be hoping to perhaps gain his first start.
The England star could also theoretically make his domestic debut against Mallorca on the 16th August in La Liga.

Son Heung-min confirms Spurs exit with MLS move looming

Son Heung-min has announced that he will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Speculations have been mounting about Son's future, with Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC reportedly keen on signing the South Korean forward, whose contract expires in 12 months. The 33-year-old says that he has achieved everything with Spurs and made a difficult decision to leave his long-time club to try out a new challenge. 'It was the most difficult decision I have made in my career, ' Son told the press ahead of the pre-season friendly against Newcastle United. 'The main reason is I have achieved everything I can at Tottenham. I need a new environment for a fresh challenge. 'I came to north London as a kid. A boy came to London who couldn't speak English. I leave this club as a man. Thanks to all the Spurs fans who have given me so much love.' The 33-year-old moved to North London in 2015 and has become one of Spurs' most influential players. He has also established himself as one of the Premier League's finest attackers with his incredible consistency. Son has amassed 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 games, which puts him fifth in the Spurs' all-time scorers list. In what would be a fitting end to his decade-long career with the Lily Whites, Son lifted the Europa League trophy last season – which ended the club's 17-year trophy drought. LAFC will now accelerate talks to bring in the South Korean international, who has also suitors from Saudi Arabia. The MLS outfit have tabled an offer worth £15 million per season for Son. They are trying to lure him with the help of his former Spurs teammate Hugo Lloris, whom they signed last year. Meanwhile, Spurs will have a huge Son-shaped void to fill ahead of the new season. Thomas Frank's side are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, but he is closer to reuniting with Juventus.

Fabrizio Romano Says PSG Confident in Signing Two Key Targets Amid Tottenham, Aston Villa Interest

PSG could add two players this month if negotiations go their way, considering both want to move to the French capital. The Parisians will reportedly have a new No. 1 goalkeeper and bolster their backline with another center-back. L'Équipe recently reported that PSG have stepped up their efforts to sign Lucas Chevalier, who is under contract through 2027. Talks over a five-year deal began, and Chevalier has already reached a broad agreement on personal terms. The Parisians are now preparing to open formal negotiations with Lille, with only minor details left to sort out. Moreover, the expected fee is at least €40 million, a price PSG have already discussed internally and are ready to meet. Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs reported Friday that PSG have resumed talks to sign Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, who's already agreed to a five-year contract and is now waiting on the clubs to work out a deal—despite interest from Tottenham. Jacobs also noted that if the move happens, the final fee is expected to be closer to Bournemouth's €70 million asking price than the €60 million figure previously mentioned. That said, there's still some negotiating left before the deal is completed. PSG could be landing two players soonTransfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG are confident they can complete deals for Zabarnyi and Chevalier in the next days. Zabarnyi's move has been in the final stages since Thursday, while PSG are still discussing add-ons with Lille for Chevalier. Much like Zabarnyi, Chevalier also drew interest from a Premier League club. ESPN recently reported that Aston Villa have reached out to LOSC Lille about a potential move for Chevalier. The Frenchman is considered a possible replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is exploring a move away from the club. Nonetheless, it seems as though Aston Villa will be missing out.
