Buffalo Bills sign defensive tackle T.J. Sanders to a four-year contract worth $10 million guaranteed
Buffalo Bills drafted T. J. Sanders in the second round of the 2025
NFL
Draft as the 41st overall pick. NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus wrote on his X that the Bills had signed Sanders to a four-year contract worth $10.645 million, with $10.073 guaranteed.
An X user instantly commented, 'Huge guaranteed money for second rounder.
' But that's not the case.
Just a day prior, Alfred Collins, a defensive lineman, signed a four-year rookie contract deal worth $10.3 million with $9 million guaranteed. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Collins in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft as the 95th overall pick. An X user rightly commented, 'Another near fully guaranteed deal in the second round, this trend is real.
Rosenhaus turning Day 2 into premium territory.'

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk explains the meaning of 'guaranteed' in contract talks
On July 18, Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk under NBC Sports explained the term 'guaranteed' in contract talks. It means that 95 percent of the contract becomes guaranteed. It has been a hook for the second-round picks to sign their rookie contracts with their respective NFL teams this year. Smith further gave two examples.
On May 9, Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger signed a fully guaranteed four-year rookie contract worth $11.8 million.

Schwesinger was a second-round, 33rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Another rookie is Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins. On May 8, he signed a four-year rookie contract deal worth $11.7 million guaranteed. These two rookie players became the pinnacles of expectation for NFL agents.
The agents demanded 30 other second-round picks for guaranteed money.
But then, for straight two months, no second-round pick signed any deal.
With training camps right around the corner, the teams are under a lot of pressure regarding rookie deals. And, so, Smith reported that a lot of second-round picks have signed in the past 24 hours. Adding to those, came–T.J. Sanders' deal with the Buffalo Bills.

NFL trade buzz: Dolphins could ship $90M star Tyreek Hill to Chargers in shocking deal
Tyreek Hill trade buzz grows as Chargers emerge as surprise destination (Image via: Getty Images) The Miami Dolphins are becoming one of the NFL's most talked-about teams this offseason, and for good reason. With salary cap pressures mounting and roster decisions looming, one shocking name continues to pop up in trade talks—star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Why trading Tyreek Hill isn't as crazy as it sounds Tyreek Hill remains one of the NFL's most electric playmakers, recently ranked the No. 3 wide receiver by league executives and scouts. But despite his elite status, the Dolphins may consider moving on from him, not because of performance, but because of finances. According to Pro Football Network's Jacob Infante, Miami could save over $20 million more by trading Hill rather than releasing him outright. That kind of cap relief is tough to ignore, especially for a team looking to solidify other parts of its roster. There's no denying Hill's value on the field. Even AFC scouts acknowledge that while defenses have adjusted to Miami's offense, Hill's unique blend of power and speed still makes him a game-breaker. 'Even if he's lost a half-step, he's still more explosive than everyone,' one scout told ESPN. NFL Training Camp Overreactions: Will Bengals trade Trey Hendrickson? Tyreek Hill done in Miami? Still, Hill seems committed to proving he belongs in Miami. 'Every day I'm trying to prove myself as one of those guys this team can depend on in crucial moments,' he said recently, responding to the growing trade speculation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Are The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo Yet his effort might not be enough to fend off front office decisions driven by salary cap concerns and long-term planning. NFL trade talk: Could Chargers land Tyreek Hill from Dolphins? Following the sudden retirement of wide receiver Mike Williams, the Los Angeles Chargers now have cap space, roster needs, and a quarterback in Justin Herbert who could maximize Hill's skills. While no trade talks have been confirmed, Phin Phanatic's Brian Miller believes L.A. is a logical destination. The potential pairing of Herbert and Hill could immediately change the landscape of the AFC West. Not only would the Chargers finally replace Williams with a more explosive weapon, but they could also challenge Kansas City's dominance—a team Hill knows all too well. Jaroslav Halak announces retirement after 17 remarkable NHL seasons
Jaroslav Halak announces retirement after 17 remarkable NHL seasons (Image Via Twitter) A career that saw Jaroslav Halak present 20 years of elite-level goaltending across the NHL came to an end at age 40. His goaltending presence would float quietly on the ice in times of great pressure, with an incredible career résumé filled with clutch postseason performances. With 295 wins, 53 shutouts, and two William Jennings Trophies to his name, Halak is considered one of the most reliable, resilient, and international goalies to ever grace both NHL arenas and international-level tournaments. Career of Jaroslav Halak in NHL: A matter of consistency and going clutch A march from a ninth-round selection in the 2003 NHL Draft to then being a stable presence amongst seven NHL franchises is a story that certainly brings inspiration. Over his 17 seasons, Jaroslav Halak played a total of 581 regular-season games (555 starts) and posted career averages of 2.50 goals-against and a save percentage of .915. How he could incorporate himself into different systems, be it Montreal, St. Louis, Washington, New York (Islanders and Rangers), Boston, or Vancouver, was a testament to his mental fortitude and technical steadiness in the net. Halak's zenith in the National Hockey League came in the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs by defending the Montreal Canadiens to their second year in the Eastern Conference Final after being named an eighth seed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Undo In the first round, Halak turned aside 131 of 134 shots over the last three games to enable the elimination of the heavily favored Washington Capitals. That playoff run is still one of the brightest moments in recent Canadiens history, showcasing Halak's ability to change the game when it really matters. Timeline and trophy awards that cemented the law-changing legacy of Jaroslav Halak Halak won the William Jennings Trophy twice, first with the Blues in 2011-12 and then with the Bruins in 2019-20, for being part of the defensive units that allowed the fewest goals in the respective seasons. Among Europe-born NHL goalies, he is 12th all-time in games played and 14th in wins, which is a testimony to being a top-tier goaltender for a very long time, going through all phases of an ever-evolving league. In Stanley Cup Playoff games, 39, Halak had a .919 save percentage and a 2.48 GAA, statistics that are most worthy and telling of his readiness under pressure. In between back-to-back Winter Olympic Games in 2010 and 2014, he also represented Slovakia. He was a key player in Team Europe finishing as runners-up in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
