Amy Poehler admits to starring in 'inappropriate' sketches
Amy Poehler has appeared in some "inappropriate" sketches on Saturday Night Live.
The 53-year-old actress starred on the hit comedy show between 2001 and 2008 - but Amy now acknowledges that some of her sketches haven't aged well.
During an appearance on the Good Hang podcast, Will Forte - Amy's former co-star - explained: "There are so many things I look back now and I go — you think, 'Oh, it's all about getting a laugh.'"
Amy then said: "Agree. The part about getting older and being in comedy, is you have to figure out everything has an expiration date."
The actress subsequently acknowledged that she made lots of mistakes during her time on Saturday Night Live.
Amy was reminded on her errors during the 50th anniversary episode of the TV show, which featured a "cancelled and tasteless jokes" segment.
Amy said: "They had that segment, which was like, 'Here's all the ways we got things wrong.' And they showed way inappropriate casting for people. We all played people that we should not have played.
"I misappropriated. I appropriated. I didn't know. I did know. It's very real, and the best thing you can do is make repair, learn from your mistakes, do better — it's all you can do."
Meanwhile, Amy previously admitted that she struggles to be funny in a "dysfunctional" environment.
The actress has very fond memories of her time on Saturday Night Live and that's created a blueprint for her entire career.
Amy - who also starred in the hit TV sitcom Parks and Recreation - told The Independent: "You do not need to have a chaotic or dysfunctional work environment to be funny or to be creative.
"I don't do great with people who want to fracture that feeling.
"I either get really defensive or really protective - I've got my stuff to work on. But I think once you prove that it works, it's pretty hard to go back.
"I've sometimes gone to other places and I'm like, 'Babe, it does not have to be this way - I've seen the other side, we don't need to kill each other to make great stuff.'"

Bill Hader exposes ‘terrible' celeb encounter
Don't miss out on the headlines from Celebrity Life. Followed categories will be added to My News. Bill Hader has the tea on Martin Kove. Over 10 years before Martin kove, 78, bit his co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim at a fan convention this past weekend, Hader, 47, spoke about a bizarre encounter he had with the Cobra Kai actor on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast. During the 2013 episode, Hader recalled that at age 20 his job was to drive actors to sets. One day, Hader was tasked with bringing Kove to a film shoot, reports the New York Post. 'I'm driving him around in my s***ty car, and he got me lost on purpose,' Hader claimed, adding that Kove 'hadn't read the script yet,' so he gave the Barry star the wrong directions. Hader said that after they arrived late, he got 'screamed at' by his boss. 'It was a terrible day,' Hader said of the moment, which only got worse. 'On the way back, we're driving,' Hader recalled. 'It's at night, and we're driving down the freeway. He was like, 'Bill, are you mad at me?'' Hader named and shamed the celebrity he had a 'terrible' experience with. Picture: Andrew Lipovsky/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images The Karate Kid actor then allegedly forced Hader to stop at a McDonald's and promised to get him a cookie and a milkshake. 'He comes back out eating the chocolate cookie and the milkshake,' the Saturday Night Live alum remembered. 'And he just sits in the back and goes, 'Come on, let's go.' It was the biggest f**k you.' 'It was a weird mind f**k of, like, 'I'm gonna get you this thing,' and then he ate it in front of me,' Hader added. 'And then I just drove home in silence.' Hader, who referred to the interaction as his 'first 'welcome to Hollywood, kid' moment,' noted that he had to keep driving Kove to work for a few more days. 'And I didn't talk to him after that,' Hader said. 'I just kind of stared straight ahead.' Despite Kove's rudeness, Hader said he gave the martial artist a pass. 'I heard he was going through a divorce, or something was happening with him,' Hader noted. 'He might be a really nice guy, but I just … rubbed him the wrong way. I don't know what was going on.' Martin Kove at the 1923 premiere earlier this year. Picture:for Paramount+ The Post has reached out to Kove's rep for comment. On Sunday, Kove was accused of biting Hannah-Kim, 37, in the arm at Washington State Summer Con. The actress, who played Kim Da-Eun for seasons 5 and 6 of Cobra Kai, claimed the alleged attack happened when she tapped Kove on the shoulder to greet him at their cast booth, according to a police report obtained by People. When he was questioned about the incident by police, Kove reportedly 'admitted to biting' Hannah-Kim but claimed 'he did it out of jest.' 'He thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai, and he did not think it was a big deal,' the report stated. Hannah-Kim declined to press charges against Kove, who was reportedly escorted out of the fan convention. Kove gave a full apology for the incident in a statement obtained by TMZ. 'I deeply regret and apologise for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia, a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn't deserve to be put in this position,' he stated. Heidi Montag's recent success 'gives her hope'
Heidi Montag's music success has given her a renewed sense of "hope". The 38-year-old star released her Heidiwood album in May, after her home was destroyed by the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, and Heidi admits that her music success has helped her to overcome her heartbreak. Heidi told People: "It gave me such hope to be able to rebuild and move forward in life. "Life is so expensive, and these things I loved, cherished and collected over the years, and our house, it's just stuff you can't replace. It was just so heartwarming, too, to have so many people rally behind us and support us, especially when we have never particularly been supported in our careers. It was really nice to have that moment for the first time." Heidi has worked on the project with her husband, Spencer Pratt. She said: "Spencer and I are definitely partners in the record label. "We always have been, so we both find the songs, like the songs. He does so much texting and work, and he's definitely the executive of Pratt Productions, [with] the amount of emails, phone calls and scheduling and finding things. Then, we listen, and ultimately, I make the choice at the end of the day of what songs I'm going to cut or not, but we tend to agree because it is both of our money, time and lives. He's the best, that's for sure." In May, Heidi revealed that she and her husband "don't have the finances" to rebuild their home. Speaking to The Independent, Heidi explained: "They're saying it's gonna cost five million to rebuild the house that cost a third of that; we just don't have the finances, and I'm not sure we can keep our lot because you still have to pay a mortgage on it. I'm not sure what we're going to be able to do." Heidi is determined to work as hard as possible in a bid to raise money. However, the reality star isn't sure if it'll be enough. She said: "I'm just trying to work as hard as I can, as much as I can, to be able to afford any type of house or down payment on something for our kids."

Scarlett Johansson reveals reaction to her and Jonathan Bailey's viral red carpet kisses
Scarlett Johansson has joked she and Jonathan Bailey are "friendly people" after their red carpet kisses. The Jurassic World Rebirth actress - who is married to Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost - and her co-star have shared some platonic smooches during the press tour for the newest Jurassic Park blockbuster sequel, and she has opened up on their public displays. During an appearance on the TODAY show on Wednesday (15.06.25), host Craig Melvin said: "He's just so attractive." Scarlett replied: "Yeah, you said it." She quipped: "He's a lovable guy, what can I say? I don't know, we're friendly people.' The 40-year-old star admitted she hasn't been surprised by the photos of them kissing going viral. She laughed: "Nothing surprises me, you know what I mean? Nothing surprises me these days. But yeah, I've got a lot of love to give, what can I say?' Jonathan, 37, came out as gay to his close friends and family in his early 20s, before making his sexuality public around 2018. He previously admitted his sexuality had been a gradual realisation and he even dated a woman for two years in his 20s. He told Britain's Vogue magazine last year: "It's interesting with the binary, where you're perceived to be either this or that. That's how I saw it at the time, but there are so many nuances to it. "My experience of that relationship was not that I was in the shadows. She remains one of my best friends. 'I think other people understood my sexuality before I was even aware of it." Jonathan has always been "confident" in public displays of affection, but admitted there have been occasions when he's been "heckled" as a result. He said: 'I've always been a confident hand-holder in relationships. 'I had a boyfriend who wasn't experienced at holding hands in public. We got heckled in London. But that kind of behaviour is now outweighed by the smiles you get.'
