Tom Rhys Harries signs on to DC's horror flick Clayface
The 32-year-old actor has beat off competition from the likes of Sinners star Jack O'Connell, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actor Tom Blyth and 1917's George MacKay for the leading role in DC's upcoming horror movie.
Speak No Evil director James Watkins has signed on to helm the project, which is slated to shoot at Warner Bros. Leavesden studio in the UK later this year as it marches towards its September 2026 release date.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clayface will be a 'stripped down movie', with a budget of approximately $40 million.
The flick will reportedly follow a B-movie actor who becomes a walking mound of clay after injecting himself with a mystery substance in an attempt to stay relevant.
Watkins will be working from a script written by Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan, while The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves will produce alongside Lynn Harris, and DC co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
DC's next movie will be Gunn's Superman, which is set to land in cinemas on 8 July 2025, and will usher in a new cinematic era for the studio.
Superman - which stars David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Rachel Brosnahan and Nathan Fillion - will follow a young Clark Kent grapple with his dual identity as he rises to become Earth's protector against a powerful alien threat.
As humanity questions its need for a saviour, Superman must prove that hope is his greatest power.
Gunn previously teased Corenswet's Man of Steel would 'blow people away' in Superman.
During an appearance on a panel at New York Comic Con in October, the Guardians of the Galaxy director said: 'We're deep in the process of editing. David Corenswet is going to f****** blow people away. He is the movie star that everyone just dreams he could possibly be.
'I don't think anyone really understands the depth of this guy's talent dramatically, comedically. He's the best physical action star I've probably ever worked with.'
Corenswet's co-star Brosnahan - who will play Superman's love interest Lois Lane - also teased the blockbuster would 'stay true to the comics'.
Speaking to Deadline, she said: 'There's a lot of challenges for everybody in all different pockets of the worlds right now.
'And for a lot of the complaints that people have sometimes about superhero movies, at their core, they're about the goodness of people and how good we can be to each other, how the pursuit of truth and justice really are the American way, and that courage and hope can carry us through.
'And so, I feel like this movie really encapsulates all of that. It's a hopeful superhero movie, which I feel like is so true to the comics. So, I'm excited for audiences to see it and hopefully have some fun and enjoy the ride with us.'

David Corenswet wasn't offered advice by past Superman stars
Henry Cavill refused to give David Corenswet any advice about playing Superman. The 42-year-old actor portrayed the superhero in a number of movies beginning with 2013's Superman: Man of Steel, and though his successor in the DC universe looked to both Henry and Tyler Hoechlin - who played Clark Kent and his alter ego in Superman + Lois - for some tips on the role, the pair encouraged David to find his own way as the character. Speaking to Heart, David said the pair were "encouraging" but added: 'Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, 'I'm not gonna try and give you any tips.' "And I think that's a very Superman thing. Superman's not so much for giving advice or dictating how other people should be. 'They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of 'have fun with it', which I think is Superman's way of doing it too." David hopes to meet his fellow Superman stars in the future. He added: "They were very encouraging and we had a lovely experience. "I'm excited to meet them one day. It'll be great when we can all get in a room together.' David previously admitted that he found screen-testing for Superman to be an "intense" experience. The actor learned that his wife, Julia, was pregnant shortly before he screen-tested for the role, and he confessed that it was a particularly intense period of time for him. David - who landed the role of Superman in 2023 - told People: "She told me that she was pregnant two days after I found out I was going to screen test for Superman. "For the first several months of her pregnancy, as is sort of protocol, we weren't telling anybody. We had these two quite huge secrets that we just had between the two of us. And that was intense. "For a period we had just each other for these two huge things. It was very close. It wasn't direct, but it was still very close. But it was just having to do two big unknown things at the same time. And they were both great things." David also felt the weight of pressure and expectation after he landed the role. The Hollywood star said: "I feel much more a sense of responsibility than a sense of accomplishment having done the role. I also know that so much in life and especially the life of an actor is up to chance and good luck, and certainly you get what you make of your situation."

Luna Blaise looks forward to 'new' challenges
Luna Blaise is in a "super exciting" phase of her career. The 23-year-old actress stars in Jurassic World Rebirth alongside the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali, and Luna is now ready to taken on a new challenge in her career. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Luna reflected: "The actual percentage of working actors in this industry is so small, so small. "For me, Luna, if I'm in that percentage, I want to do anything. I just want to have the opportunity to be on a set and to do what I love, regardless of what that is. To just have that young excitement is so refreshing, and it's so nice to have. "I can't write what I want to do next. It is not something that I know yet. Everything that's coming my way right now, it's super exciting, and I'm into everything. Honestly, it's just [me] waiting to see what actually meshes and what clicks. Whatever that may be is going to be the next opportunity that I'm so unbelievable blessed to have." Luna is now looking forward to taking on a new challenge and fully investing herself in a character. The actress said: "I think that I want to do something that is going to make me work even harder, something that I can fully invest my time and energy [into] and create a character. Because it's also crazy for actors too. You spend so much time in a role, you have to let that go. Even after all the press and after everything, you're like, OK, onto the next, let's move on. That's that. "To be able to really immerse myself in another character and to do something that's just completely different than anything I've ever done before, which Jurassic was for me at the time … I think that's just what's exciting for me, to be able to do something that I haven't done, something that's new and something that's exciting for me in my life." Meanwhile, Luna recently revealed that Scarlett urged her to "hold [her] own" in the movie business. The actress admitted that she received some valuable career advice from her 40-year-old co-star. Speaking to E! News, Luna shared: "She told me to hold your own. "Being a woman on set, being number one and being the captain of that ship, [she said to] know your worth, know you're there for a reason. You wouldn't have been given the opportunity if you weren't ready for it." Luna relished the experience of getting to know Scarlett during the shoot. The movie star said: "That's number one, wow. That's auntie. That's my girl. I'll go for her for anything."

Charlize Theron hopes her kids feel proud of her movie stunts
Charlize Theron hopes her children will eventually give her "props" for her "bada**" movie stunts. The Hollywood actress is mother to daughters Jackson, 12, and August, nine, and she's revealed her girls don't seem to be impressed by her film career but she hopes one day they will be able to look back at her work and feel proud. She told The Hollywood Reporter: "They're kids. They're doing exactly what they're supposed to do. I don't think anybody's kids really feel that way about their parents, no matter what they do. And they're teenagers now. "So, even if they were [impressed], they would never show it. But I want to believe that we'll actually sit down one day when they're old enough to have a glass of wine, and they'll say: 'You know what, Mom? It was pretty badass when you were 50 and you were hanging off that helicopter. We never gave you your props'." Charlize was referring to a stunt featured in her new Netflix film The Old Guard 2 in which she is seen hanging from the side of a helicopter in flight, and the actress admits it was a tough scene to film but it felt very safe. She added to the publication: "I haven't spent a lot of time on helicopters; I'm not crazy about them either. It just came out of the creative process and wanting to make that third-act set piece be as big as we all wanted it to be ... "Fred North, who's a legend in the business and does all the helicopter action work in every movie, then came on board. And I asked him ... 'How can we do it practically and safely so that it feels like you haven't seen this before in a movie?' "And he said to us: 'I don't know why, but I've never done this with an actor. [It] is actually incredibly safe if we do it the right way. It will look great, and you can do it all practically with a real helicopter.' "So he was really the one that threw this idea at us, and that's where it originated."
