Mamta Ashu said she received information from local workers that a truck full of ration reached Sham Nagar to distribute among the voters to bribe them. "We reached the spot and caught the truck. The truck driver, in front of all media persons and on Facebook live, was questioned about where he came from to Sham Nagar. The driver said that neither the truck nor the ration belonged to him.
He added that Khanna City-1 traffic cop filled the truck with fuel and asked him to deliver ration sacks to two locations in Sham Nagar.
Thereafter, we called the police," she added.
Mamta Ashu also claimed that some sacks of ration were unloaded at one house in Sham Nagar. She asked the police to search that house; however, the police did not listen to them. A complaint on the C-vigil app has been made by them against it.
ACP (Civil Lines) Guriqbal Singh, said, "We have seized the truck and further investigation is on."
When asked about the Congress party's claim of the involvement of the Khanna cop, the ACP said, "We are getting it verified."

Next Vice President? Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Picks THIS OBC Leader From BJP
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday accused the BJP of stalling 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) by using Muslim community as an excuse. He alleged that the leaders of saffron party were playing politics of sentiment by stating that they would back 42 percent quota for BCs if Muslims are removed from the list of BCs. Addressing a press conference in Delhi, he clarified that Muslims are being extended the benefits of reservation on the basis of their backwardness. He dared BJP to scrap reservation for Muslims in the states ruled by it or its allies. He asked why the BJP was not scrapping Muslim quota in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that BJP is adopting double standards on the issue of Muslim reservation and trying to derive political mileage by whipping up passions. 'You can't have one justice for Telangana and another justice for other states,' he remarked. He warned that if BJP oppose Backward Class reservation, the party will be wiped out from Telangana. Revanth Reddy along with some state ministers and Congress leaders arrived in the national capital to mobilise support of various parties for including two state laws for 42 per cent Backward Class reservation in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution. The Chief Minister recalled that the state legislature passed two Bills for 42 per cent quota for BCs in education, employment and public life and sent the same to the Centre for including in the 9th Schedule. Revanth Reddy also pointed out that the local body elections have to be conducted in the state by September as per the direction of the High Court. 'If 42 percent seats in local bodies are to be reserved for the BCs, the Centre will have to give its approval,' he said. The Chief Minister said there was no justification in the argument that total reservations should not cross 50 per cent. He claimed that the Centre crossed this limit long back with 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The Chief Minister also demanded that a leader from Telangana should be made the Vice-President of India. Revanth Reddy said Bandaru Dattatreya, whose tenure as Haryana Governor has just ended, should be made Vice-President. He alleged that since Dattatreya is an OBC leader he was sidelined to make G. Kishan Reddy the union minister. He said similarly Bandi Sanjay was removed as state BJP president and a Brahmin was recently appointed as the state BJP chief.

Dehradun defence coaching institute accused of making student do 400 sit-ups for ‘talking in class'
An 18-year-old was allegedly made to do 400 sit-ups at a Dehradun-based coaching institute for 'talking in the class'. According to the police, an FIR has been registered against the institute's mathematics teacher, Jai Singh, who made the student do 400 sit-ups on July 4. The student, a Meghalaya native, was preparing for defence entrance exams at the centre. In an FIR on the back of a complaint by the students' parents on July 14, it is claimed that the boy was unable to walk due to severe pain and swelling in his legs. The complaint, addressed to Laban police station in Shillong on July 14, was registered as an FIR at Vasant Vihar police station in Dehradun on July 21. 'Battling with pain, he somehow managed to attend the classes on July 7 and 8, but started experiencing tremendous pain, cramps, and spasms and had to be taken to an orthopaedic surgeon by his PG owner. Our son refrained from informing us initially to avoid giving us pain and anxiety, until his condition worsened and he had to be taken to the doctor for treatment,' the complaint said. They had emailed twice to demand action against the faculty member, the FIR said. 'They acknowledged that the said incident occurred in the institution and that they have been made aware that one of their teachers behaved unacceptably towards our child, resulting in physical harm and further assured that strict action would be taken against the said person,' the complaint said, adding that as no action was taken against him. 'My son has since then missed all his classes and has been suffering physically, mentally and emotionally. The incident has traumatised us and has caused much distress to us,' it said. The complainant goes on to state that the victim was asked to go to the institute for verification of documents, the complaint alleges. 'It is not clear what verification they were talking about since all formalities were already completed in April during the time of his admission. They also issued a message to my son asking him to resume his classes from tomorrow (July 15) since he had not informed them of his absence in advance despite knowing his condition,' it said. Pradeep Singh Rawat, the in-charge of the police station, said that after the FIR was registered in Meghalaya, it was transferred to Dehradun under section 117(2) BNS. 'We have started the probe and examined the crime scene, the classroom. The victim's and his father's statements have been recorded. The allegations are true prima facie,' he said. PM 'shows weakness' by not responding to Trump's repeated claims on India-Pakistan conflict: Congress chief
After U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his claim — for the 25th time, according to the Congress — that he had stopped the recent conflict between India and Pakistan, party leaders questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's continued 'silence' on the issue. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, said there was 'something fishy' about Mr. Modi's failure to respond even once to Mr. Trump's repeated claim of facilitating a ceasefire. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge said the PM 'shows weakness' by staying silent. On Tuesday, the U.S. President said once again that he had stopped the recent conflict which 'could end up in a nuclear war', adding that five planes had been shot down during the war. 'PM should respond firmly' 'Trump keeps saying that he facilitated a ceasefire, but Narendra Modi is silent, not responding. Does Narendra Modi want to be subservient to Trump? The country is the most important, which is why we supported the government,' Mr. Kharge told reporters. 'In such a situation, when Trump repeatedly states that he brought about the ceasefire and insults India, the Prime Minister should respond firmly. This, in some way, shows weakness.' Mr. Gandhi said that the PM could not respond as 'the whole world knows' the truth of the situation. 'This is not just about ceasefire there are big problems that we want to discuss. There are problems related to defence, defence industry, Operation Sindoor. The situation is not good and the whole world knows. Those who call themselves patriots have run away. The Prime Minister is not able to give one statement,' Mr. Gandhi told journalists at the Parliament House complex. 'Something fishy' 'Trump has said 25 times that 'I got the ceasefire done'. Who is Trump to get a ceasefire done? It is not his job. But the Prime Minister has not given a reply even once. That is the truth, he cannot hide,' the Congress leader said, adding that the Modi government has 'destroyed our foreign policy, no one supported us'. The government has agreed to hold a Parliamentary discussion on Operation Sindoor when the Prime Minister returns from his trip out of the country, Mr. Gandhi said. 'On the one hand you [government] say Operation Sindoor is ongoing and on the other hand you say that victory has been achieved. Either victory has been achieved or Sindoor is ongoing. Trump is saying I halted Sindoor, he has said it 25 times. So, 'kuch na kuch toh daal mein kala hai na' (something is fishy),' he added.
