Kylie Minogue looks ethereal in pale pink gown as she raises a glass to celebrate her 57th birthday and the fifth anniversary of her wine brand at private members club in London

Daily Mail29-05-2025
Kylie Minogue pulled out all the stops on Wednesday night to celebrate both her birthday and a major milestone for her wine brand at a London private members club.
The Princess of Pop looked as thought she hadn't aged a day from when she first shot to fame in Neighbours in 1986, as she rang in her 57th birthday and marked the fifth anniversary of her business, Kylie Minogue Wines.
To commemorate the special occasion, Kylie unveiled a limited-edition Côtes de Provence rosé bottle, crafted especially for the anniversary.
Coordinating her outfit to match the rosé, the singer cut a radiant figure in a floaty pale pink gown adorned with an organza flower and sparkling piping at the neckline.
And Kylie didn't resist letting her hair down as she celebrated two momentous occasions, taking to the dance floor to show off her moves.

While she capped off the celebrations by joining friend and collaborator, The Blessed Madonna, in the DJ booth.
Kylie took to the mike, to perform a surprise rendition of their hit, Edge of Saturday Night and remix, Can't Get Blue Monday out of My Head', for the lucky guests.
The Spinning Around hitmaker launched Kylie Minogue Wines in 2020 on her 52nd birthday, with the brand having now sold over 20 million bottles globally.
She first released a southern French rosé made from a blend of 80 per cent Carignan and 20 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon from the southern French coast.
The salmon pink Vin de France rosé was kept on its lees for three months in stainless steel for added complexity.
In an exclusive interview with The Drinks Business, Kylie revealed that drinking Provence rosé during sweltering nights in Nashville while recording her 14th album, Golden, is what inspired her to want to make her own.
She told the publication: 'It was exceptionally hot and humid that summer, and it was an exciting time, being in Nashville and writing songs with no distractions.'
'While dining outdoors one night, my manager Polly and I were drinking Whispering Angel to cool down from the heat, which got me thinking how great it would be to have my own rosé.'
'I love pale pink rosés and all the associations of the Mediterranean that go with them.'
Keen to be involved in all stages of the production process, Kylie chose the wine's long-necked, bell-shaped bottle finished with a pearlescent capsule.
She also designed the label featuring her name repeated in relief and her signature in black in the centre.
The Padam Padam chart-topper later launched a lees-aged Sauvignon Blanc from Gascony and a Pays d'Oc Merlot.
While in November, a drinks industry source revealed that her prosecco had become hugely successful, saying: 'The prosecco has been a massive seller for Kylie.
'It is a good quality product - just as you'd expect from someone like Kylie – and it is very drinkable.'
'She wouldn't have put her name to an inferior product and she's reaping the rewards of a successful brand.'
Showing her packed and busy schedule, Kylie's night of celebrations came just a day after she took to the stage for the first of four nights at London's O2 for her Tension Tour on Tuesday.

The singer ensured all eyes were on her as she entertained her legions of fans in a skintight blue latex jumpsuit with matching gloves and ankle boots.
Speaking to The Sun after the performance ended, the Australian star told how her Tension Tour almost didn't happen.
She said: 'It's been a lot of work and we almost didn't get there, but it's great.'
Asked if she watches her performances back, Kylie added: 'I don't watch it on YouTube, but I do see it on socials and that way, sometimes with a phone, the angle is weird or the colours are off, but it gives you another perspective.'
On her love of performing, she said: 'My love for doing this only grows and grows. Thank you for understanding and being there for me on my journey. For me, it began in a mystical time known as the Eighties.'
Kylie's Tension Tour is split into five acts with the star kicking things off with her 2024 single Lights Camera Action before going into other hits like In Your Eyes, Get Outta My Way and Spinning Around.
Later in the show, Kylie performed some of her earlier hits including Better The Devil You Know and The Locomotion.
The final act features some of her most-loved hits including Padam Padam, Can't Get You Outta My Head and All The Lovers before an encore featuring Tension and Love At First Sight.
The star is the highest-selling Australian female artist of all time and the third best-selling in the UK, but has only now begun to make a name for herself in the US following the success of her viral 2023 hit Padam Padam.

BYD gives up on EV grant, and offers five years of maintenance instead

Car makers are scrambling in the wake of the announcement of the Government's Electric Car Grant and now Chinese firm BYD has said it'll offer five years of free maintenance on its EVs and increase the battery warranty to 200,000km (155,000 miles) or eight years on selected models. The new offer in effect means the brand is very unlikely to satisfy the criteria for the UK Government's Electric Car Grant of £1,500 or £3,750 per car. There are strict rules regarding how the companies make their EVs, over their commitment to Science-Based Targets (SBT) for emissions, plus the need to already be showing reductions. Announcing its new maintenance scheme, BYD said, 'While [the company] has formally applied to be included in the Government-backed scheme, the brand may not be immediately eligible.' Advertisement - Article continues below Steve Beattie, Sales and Marketing Director at BYD UK, added: 'This five-year servicing offer is our way of giving back to drivers who choose BYD and supporting them well beyond the showroom. That includes the Approved Used market – which plays a vital role in accelerating EV adoption and strengthening the value of our vehicles over time.' The maintenance offer is available on BYD's entire range of pure-electric and hybrid vehicles, including those already on UK roads. Meanwhile, the five years of free servicing are now offered on the Dolphin Surf, Dolphin, Atto 3 and approved used BYD vehicles purchased through the official BYD retailers. If you're looking for excellent deals on BYD, then check out the Auto Express Find A Car service where you'll see offers on the brand's full line-up. BYD's admission that it may not qualify for the grant puts into question the potential eligibility of other Chinese brands such as MG and Ora, as well as numerous cars from firms that rely on production lines in China. The Chinese government has already issued a warning to the UK authorities, with an embassy spokesperson saying, 'The Chinese side is closely following the situation and will resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.' Tesco launches limited-edition birthday cake sandwich inspired by Victoria sponge: ‘Get it while you can'

A brand new limited-edition sandwich launched by Tesco has divided opinions as the supermarket giant tells shoppers to 'get it while you can'. The Birthday Cake sandwich has been launched for four weeks in 1,000 locations across the UK. It can be purchased alone for £3, or as part of Tesco's popular meal deal offer for £4 alongside a drink and snack (£3.60 for clubcard members). It has been released to mark the 30th anniversary of the launch of the Tesco Clubcard, the retailer says. The sandwich 's ingredients bear resemblance to a Victoria sponge – a popular birthday cake option. Between two slices of brioche-style white bread, it contains full-fat soft cheese, seedless strawberry jam, sprinkles, and vanilla frosting. Tesco says the sandwich was developed over the course of nine months by its innovation team, describing it as 'an all time favourite treat, in an all time favourite deal.' Nutritional information for the sandwich shows that it contains 515 calories with 8.4g saturated fat (42 per cent of an adult's reference intake) and 31.5g sugar (35 per cent of reference intake). The intriguing product from Tesco comes after the success of M&S's strawberries and cream sandwich which was a viral sensation in June, becoming the supermarket 's best-selling sandwich in the two days after its launch. It was inspired by the popular Japanese 'furutsu sando,' which sees fruit fillings and cream put between two slices of pillowy milk bread. Tesco's new birthday cake-flavour offering is less precedented, however, and has seen shoppers divided. Popular Manchester-based food reviewer John's Snack Reviews (@johns_snackreviews) told his 26,000 followers that they should 'run to Tesco' after he tried the sandwich – but others are less convinced. Meanwhile, online creator Bella Hill (@ said the sandwich's filling looks like 'coleslaw,' before telling her 125,000 followers 'no, don't do that.' However, she then admitted the aftertaste 'wasn't too bad,' comparing it to a Victoria sponge cake. Another reviewer, @tipscostoflivingcrisis, told his 102k followers: 'This isn't good for you at all, but everyone deserves a treat now and again.' After trying it, he described it as 'disgustingly tasty.' Violaine Barthe, brand manager at Tesco said: 'With 3.1 million sandwiches sold in Tesco each year, sandwiches make up a big proportion of Clubcard purchases and so there was only one way to celebrate Clubcard turning 30. 'The Birthday Cake sandwich is a celebration not to be missed and we can't wait to hear the nation's feedback.'

Surprise! New Nissan Micra costs the same as its Renault 5 twin

The new Nissan Micra will finally go on sale on 1 September, with prices set to start from £22,995 – exactly the same as the award-winning Renault 5, which shares the same platform. It's worth noting that the pricing doesn't include the UK Government's recently announced Electric Car Grant, but Nissan is expecting its funky supermini to qualify for a £1,500 discount that would bring the starting price down to just £21,495 – about the same as a Volkswagen Polo. Like its French cousin, the Micra will be available with two powertrains. The base set-up uses a 40kWh battery that provides up to 198 miles of range, and a 118bhp e-motor to drive the front wheels. Upgrade to the 52kWh battery and the car's range jumps to 260 miles, while a more powerful 148bhp e-motor cuts the 0-62mph time from nine to eight seconds. Advertisement - Article continues below Nissan says the new Micra can be recharged from 15 to 80 per cent in half an hour. Versions with the smaller battery can charge at speeds of up to 80kW, while those with the larger power pack can reach 100kW. When order books open, buyers will have three trim levels to choose from: Engage, Advanced and Evolve. Entry-level models will feature 18-inch alloy wheels, an energy-saving heat pump, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus Google Maps and other services built-in, a seven-inch driver's display and various safety systems, including lane-keep assist and driver-attention alert. Don't want to wait for the new Nissan Micra? You can get great deals on the Renault 5 right now with our Find a Car service. Advanced trim starts from £24,995 and adds a larger 10-inch driver's display, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, drive modes, front parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Upgrading to the mid-range will allow buyers to add the bigger 52kWh battery for an extra £2,000, and the £500 Cold Pack that includes heated front seats and steering wheel. Both come as standard on the range-topping Evolve model, which starts from £29,865. It also gets paddles on the steering wheel to activate a one-pedal driving mode, a two-tone paint scheme, unique wheels and Nissan's 'ProPILOT Assist with Navi-Link' system, which combines adaptive cruise control, emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance.
