PM Modi 3.0: A resounding mandate for a stronger, bolder, rising Bharat
This growing economic strength translated into unprecedented political success. In state after state, the BJP-led NDA expanded its footprint, demolishing long-standing political strongholds and rewriting electoral history, all fought and won under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. In Maharashtra, the alliance secured over 79% of assembly seats, reaffirming its grip over India's industrial powerhouse. In Haryana, the BJP achieved the unprecedented feat of forming the government for a third consecutive term. Perhaps the most symbolic breakthrough came in Delhi, where the BJP returned to power after 27 years, ending decades of politics built on populism, freebies, and false promises. These victories were not isolated regional wins; they were united national endorsements for Modi's leadership, fought in his name and sealed by the people's trust.advertisementThe Modi 3.0 government has also demonstrated political strength by passing some of the most contentious bills in recent history with absolute authority and without disruption in both Houses of Parliament. The Waqf Amendment Bill, long suppressed under layers of political appeasement, was decisively enacted to restore land rights and dignity to neglected Muslim sects, especially Muslim women, ending decades of injustice. With the bold announcement of a nationwide Caste Census alongside the decadal census, Modi 3.0 shattered the status quo. Previous regimes merely exploited the caste census as a cynical vote-bank tool; this government seized it as a powerful instrument for data-driven governance, evidence-based policymaking, and true social empowerment, boldly moving beyond divisive politics.A major step towards long-term reform came when the Cabinet approved the long-pending One Nation, One Election proposal. This reform, long overdue, promises to eliminate policy stagnation, reduce election costs, and ensure smoother governance nationwide. Only a government with political will and a long-term vision could push this forward.India's internal security story is no less remarkable. Once infamous as a Left-Wing Extremism hub, Bastar is now nearly free from Naxal terror. Through a combination of precise operations, development initiatives, and inclusive governance, the government has broken the backbone of the red corridor. The promise to make India entirely Naxal-free is no longer a slogan, it is rapidly becoming a reality. The number of LWE-affected districts reduced from 126 to 90 in April 2018, 70 in July 2021, and further to 38 in April 2024. Out of the total Naxalism-affected districts, the number of the most affected districts has been reduced from 12 to 6.advertisementInfrastructure projects, too, tell a story of transformation. From the strategic Wadhwan port to the ambitious Polavaram Project, from the engineering marvel of the Chenab Bridge, the world's highest railway bridge, to the Z-Morh tunnel enhancing border connectivity, India is witnessing the largest and most integrated infrastructure revolution since Independence. These are not mere construction efforts, they are milestones in nation-building.This term is not just about continuity but marks a new high watermark in India's journey. Modi 3.0 is firmer in resolve, sharper in delivery, and more unstoppable in ambition. With unparalleled political capital, global credibility, and the unshakable trust of the people, this government is rewriting the rules of governance, redefining national security, and reimagining India's future.advertisementSome opposition leaders were saying that Modi 3.0 wouldn't match the momentum of his earlier terms. But PM Modi 3.0 emerges as a resounding mandate for a stronger, bolder, rising Bharat has proven otherwise, emerging as a more assertive, far-reaching, and visionary phase of leadership. With greater political consolidation, bold reforms, and a renewed national agenda, this third term is not just continuing the legacy but accelerating it, reaffirming the people's enduring trust in Modi's leadership.(Pradeep Bhandari is the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party.) (Source: X) Interacting with the media persons, Lt Gen Sharma said, 'Indian Army's performance in Operation Sindoor had demonstrated remarkable capabilities, especially in the use of drones. Drawing on those insights, ARTRAC has initiated a roadmap that will make drone operation an integral part of every soldier's training.' 'In Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army showcased exceptional capability, particularly through the deployment of drones. Learning from that, we have decided that by 2027, every Indian soldier will be trained in drone operations. Drones will become the 'third arm' of the modern Indian soldier,' he said. Lt Gen Sharma said that ARTRAC had identified 33 niche technologies—including drones, cyber warfare, battlefield artificial intelligence, and electronic warfare systems—for incorporation into army training. To institutionalise these capabilities, 14 centres of expertise have been established across various training institutions. He said that ARTRAC has set a goal for the complete absorption of these technologies by 2030, backed by an investment of ₹390 crore over the next five years in infrastructure, research and development, and simulation-based training systems. 'As part of this initiative, 18,000 personnel have already been trained in 22 new technologies in the training year 2024–25, with a target to train an additional 12,000 personnel in 21 more technologies during 2025–26,' he said. Speaking on gender inclusion, he said that 1,571 women were currently serving in the Indian Army across all ranks, including command positions. ARTRAC, he said, was fully committed to gender neutrality and had integrated gender sensitisation modules into its training curriculum. During the event, establishments and individuals were awarded for their outstanding performances for the Training Year 2023-24. Three category 'A' Establishments and two affiliated units to Category 'A' Establishments were awarded the prestigious 'GOC-in-C Army Training Command Unit Citation' for their outstanding performance and making exceptional contributions to enhancing the training ethos and standards of the Indian Army in 2023-24 on occasion. Financial excellence awards were conferred upon three training establishments, namely Military College of Material Management , Jabalpur, Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare School , Variengate and Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering , Secunderabad, for setting high standards in financial management. Additionally, two training establishments, Armoured Corps Centre & School , Ahilyanagar, and Military College of Material Management MCMM, Jabalpur, were awarded e-Office Excellence Awards for promoting e-office software usage, which reduces paper usage of paper.

'My comments were in haste', says Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw after CM Siddaramaiah's clarification
Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has clarified her stance on Covid-19 vaccine approvals, stating that her earlier remarks may have been made in haste, while reiterating her confidence in the rigorous processes followed for vaccine approval in India. Shaw's earlier post had strongly defended the vaccine approval process in India.(PTI File Photo) Responding to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's recent statement on the government's intent behind probing a spate of sudden deaths in Hassan district, Shaw wrote on X, 'I agree with Hon CM @siddaramaiah re asking questions n seeking answers in science. However, my comments related to whether Covid vaccines were approved in haste n my response was that due process was followed as prescribed by WHO for safety n efficacy for EUA. Losing lives in a sudden manner is always tragic n I am glad an investigation is being conducted in Hassan District.' Read her full post here: Her remarks come after Siddaramaiah defended his decision to order an inquiry into recent heart-related deaths in Hassan, many of which affected young individuals. In a detailed response posted online, the Chief Minister clarified that his comments were not meant to question the science behind Covid-19 vaccines, but to address the genuine concerns of families who had lost loved ones unexpectedly. 'Seeking clarity is not misinformation; it is an act of governance rooted in empathy,' Siddaramaiah wrote, adding that while vaccines saved lives, scientific literature has acknowledged rare but serious side effects, including cardiac events. He cited admissions by vaccine manufacturers like AstraZeneca, and peer-reviewed studies in reputed journals discussing vaccine-linked myocarditis and cardiac arrest, especially among young adults. Shaw's earlier post had strongly defended the vaccine approval process in India, calling suggestions of hasty clearances 'factually incorrect' and potentially harmful. 'These vaccines have saved millions of lives and, like all vaccines, may cause side effects in a very small number of individuals,' she had written, urging public discourse to remain rooted in science and evidence. IRB InvIT to acquire 3 road assets worth ₹8,436 cr from IRB InvIT Fund
IRB InvIT Fund, the publicly listed infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) sponsored by IRB Infrastructure Developers, is set to acquire three road assets at an enterprise value of Rs 8,436 crore from IRB Infrastructure Trust, the sponsor's privately held InvIT. The unitholders of the public InvIT have given their approval to the proposed acquisition of the 100 per cent equity share capital of three special purpose vehicles (SPVs)—Kaithal Tollway Limited, IRB Hapur Moradabad Tollway Limited, and Kishangarh Gulabpura Tollway Limited—from the private InvIT, with a majority of 96 per cent. The transaction was first announced in May this year. The unitholders also approved a fundraise of up to Rs 5,000 crore to undertake the proposed acquisition and the appointment of the sponsor as the project manager of the InvIT to carry out the operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of the three SPVs. These SPVs operate certain stretches of road projects on a design, build, finance, operate and toll (DBFOT) basis and are located in the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, spanning approximately 1,800 lane kilometres. The public InvIT and the private InvIT executed a binding term sheet on 30 May 2025 for the acquisition. The proposed acquisitions are subject to the necessary regulatory approvals and compliances and will increase IRB Infrastructure Developers' O&M order book by approximately Rs 3,100 crore. Earlier, in a conversation with Business Standard, an IRB executive had said that IRB Infrastructure Developers aims to unlock capital through an asset transfer strategy between its two InvITs—one private and one public—to bid for toll-operate-transfer (TOT) projects. IRB's private InvIT serves as the development platform for the IRB Group. 'The private InvIT will bid for assets, take on construction risk, and stabilise the asset. Once stabilised, the asset will be transferred to the public InvIT, which will generate a margin of 300 to 400 basis points, typically translating to two times price to book,' said Anil Yadav, director, investor relations, IRB Infrastructure Developers.
