PARENTS have issued a stark warning about 'dark Peppa Pig' videos that are going viral online.
The famous cartoon pig is adored and often watched on YouTube by many young children around the country, but now depraved creators are taking advantage of Peppa Pig's popularity and creating harmful versions of the iconic show.

The horror videos, which are set to target and terrify young children, have racked up millions of views on the video sharing platform.
Pranksters have used genuine Peppa Pig episodes and re-dubbed sections of them to include shameful content.
Numerous clips showed the iconic character and her family holding machine guns.
Another saw the family cooking Peppa Pig in a pancake and eating her.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Daily Mail, another twisted video showed the cartoon pig snorting cocaine.
A YouTube spokesperson has since confirmed that two viral clips have been taken down, but there are still numerous videos floating around that millions of children may have been exposed to them.
A spokesperson told the Mirror: 'We've removed both videos from YouTube and terminated a channel for violating our child safety policies, which we rigorously enforce.'
Such 'Dark Peppa Pig' videos first came to light in 2017, when an investigation by the BBC found hundreds of harmful clips on YouTube which appeared to be episodes of Peppa Pig but were actually terrifying content targeted at children.
In 2018, a mother from Melbourne, named Moonee Ponds, was taking a conference call while her daughter watched Peppa Pig online, but she soon noticed something wasn't right when she noticed the absence of the cartoon character's voice.
As she checked on her daughter, she was stunned to find footage of a kneeling man about to be beheaded, hitting the power button seconds from the gruesome act playing out, The Advertiser reported.
Four ways to keep kids safe on YouTube
Fortunately, Moonee was able to protect her daughter from the horrifying clip, but wanted other mothers to know the 'kids' function on YouTube did not guarantee cyber safety.
Minister for Law Enforcement and Cyber Safety Angus Taylor has since called on social media companies to be more vigilant with its policing of content.
Keeping kids safe on YouTube
RESTRICTED Mode is an optional setting on YouTube that helps filter out mature videos.
It's not perfect, but it's a good way of scrubbing out a large portion of the adult material on YouTube.
However, you have to turn it off manually for each browser or device your child is using – it can't simply be applied at account level.
On your computer, go to the account icon – a little person icon in the top right corner of your screen.
Click Restricted Mode, then use the toggle button to turn it on.
On the Android phone app or mobile site, tap the menu icon, which looks like three vertical dots.
Then go to Settings > General and turn Restricted Mode on.
On Android TV, go to the Home screen then scroll down to the Apps row.
Select YouTube, then scroll down and select Settings.
Choose Restricted Mode or Safety Mode, then select Enabled.
On the iOS app (for iPhones or iPad), tap the account icon in the top right.
Tap Settings then Restricted Mode Filtering, then choose Strict: Restricted Mode On.
On the iOS mobile site, tap the menu icon, which looks like a three-dot column.
Tap Settings then tap Restricted Mode to turn it on or off.
Minister Taylor said: 'I am aware of these types of cases. Social media companies absolutely have a responsibility to do more.'
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman shared: 'All versions of the YouTube Kids app use filters powered by algorithms to select videos from YouTube.
'We continually work hard to make our algorithms as accurate as possible in order to provide a safer version of YouTube.'
As well as this, Cyber Cop's Susan McClean suggested parents could protect their kids by boycotting internet streaming services and instead using DVDs or VCR.
Joe Pritchard's Peppa Pig horror
Meanwhile, a dad-of-two previously expressed outrage after his son started watching an explicit fake version of Peppa Pig while browsing YouTube.
The seemingly innocent video started as any normal tale involving Peppa, George and her parents, but the content soon changed with references to a paedophile dentist, which was of course not included in the original version.
Joe Pritchard, 25, from Cornwall, let his three-year-old son watch some genuine Peppa Pig videos on the internet.
He told MailOnline: 'Jack is three and is in the process of being tested for autism, and we've found that if he watches a show for 15 minutes on the phone it calms him down and helps him relax.'
If a slightly older child saw this, it could be traumatising. There is nothing to warn people that the content is graphic
Joe Pritchard
Mr Pritchard said he asked Jack about the episode he was watching and was disgusted when he realised the content of the video, as he recalled: 'My partner went to the kitchen when she heard the language and turned it off immediately.
'Some of them have Peppa Pig getting killed. We had to warn the nursery that he had seen this in case he repeated something.
'If a slightly older child saw this, it could be traumatising. There is nothing to warn people that the content is graphic.
'I think there should be more control on the internet.
'Now we're not going to be able to let him watch things on the mobile anymore. It's going to make our lives ten times harder now and it's a shame because he enjoyed it.'

'Porta Potty party model' found on Dubai road with broken spine reveals what really happened
The 20-year-old, who suffered horrific injuries including a broken spine and limbs, had been in a coma after she was found close to death having "fallen from a height." A wheelchair-bound Ukrainian model who was found in the middle of a Dubai road with a broken spine after going missing for more than a week has spoken out for the first time. Maria Kovalchuk was discovered on a roadside in March, amid fears she had been kidnapped into "sexual slavery". The 20-year-old, who suffered horrific injuries including a broken spine and limbs, had been in a coma after she was found close to death having "fallen from a height." Based on the testimony of some reported friends, there were fears that Maria had been a victim of a notorious Porta Potty party in Dubai - where rich men are reported to pay large sums to abuse and degrade attractive young women, including those with social media profiles. Maria - who did not speak before leaving Dubai - has now revealed she is recovering from her ordeal in Norway, where her mother lives. The model, who has a prominent scar on her forehead after undergoing multiple surgeries, denied that citizens of the United Arab Emirates were behind her torture, reports the Mirror. Instead, she pointed the finger at "rich Russian kids" who she alleges abused her after a party in a hotel. She claimed that her expensive medical treatment was paid for by the Dubai authorities. Her mother, Anna, said: "I don't know how much they paid - the sum was colossal, millions." Maria said: "I mostly use a wheelchair and crutches. "I still have a leg fracture that's healing. I'm learning to walk with crutches again, but for now, the wheelchair is my main means of moving around." Recalling the incident, Maria said she had been in Dubai to get content for her job as a model when she overslept and missed her onward flight to Thailand. According to the report, she met a young man - whom she had previously met at a karaoke bar - in the lobby of the Five Jumeirah Village hotel. The 19-year-old man in question lives with his father in Dubai. The report said: "She told him her air ticket had gone to waste and she had to check out of her hotel. "[He] offered for her to stay in his room and claimed that his father could fly her to Thailand on a private jet." Maria then claimed that there was a party with the children of wealthy Russian and Ukrainian businessmen. She admitted she agreed to go with the man and his friends - hoping it would lead to a free flight to Thailand, but the atmosphere turned sour. "They started teasing me, why I wasn't drinking," she told prominent Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak at "Then some aggressive pushes like pushing in the shoulders began. After that, they started making fun of me like 'you belong to us, we will do whatever we want.' "I tried to take it as a joke, because it was really weird. They started behaving inappropriately, smashing bottles on the floor. That is, the entire floor was strewn with broken glass, that is, it was impossible to walk there. "Then they started intimidating me, smashing glass. After that, they took my personal belongings, which included my passport. And one of the girls….put on my things and just left in them, although before that I asked her not to do this, [and] to leave my things. That is, no one heard me, and she just left the hotel in my dress." This woman is now out of contact. The men "hinted" they wanted sex, she said, adding: "I did not reciprocate, and this aggression was also heating them up." The report claimed that "amid the violence, Maria tried to flee "but the young men "dragged her back into the room." It added: "When they stepped out onto the balcony, she escaped and hid at a nearby construction site." Then the men, who were "out of their minds" by this point, allegedly found her at the construction site and "beat her". "They practically tore the skin off her scalp, then threw her off a ledge onto the road," said the account. "I ran away. Then, already on the street, when I was, I didn't see them anymore, but I knew they were coming," said Maria. "I ran to the nearest building, just scared, and ran in, hid there. It was just an unfinished building, open." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Maria doesn't remember the violence itself that led to her injuries, and the CCTV footage has since been erased, she said. "Three months have passed - the police waited until the cameras were automatically wiped [after this period]. So now there's no evidence," said Maria. "Most likely, there was a blow to the head, I suppose. The next scene [that] I remember is me asking for help from a passing car, which had already stopped and called an ambulance and the police." She had fled wearing only a hotel robe. She said: "I think that maybe I was thrown. Or it was a beating. One of two options, the injuries looked like either a beating or a fall." The men accused by Maria were both detained by police in Dubai but only for one day, said the report. It added: "They now claim in their testimonies that they tried to find and help Maria and that she had asked to come to the party herself." There appear to be no charges against them. "The next day the case was closed, they were released. And the case was closed," said Maria's mother. "The [Dubai] police investigation indicated that Maria said that she was running away from sexual violence and then went to protect her honour, her dignity, decided to commit suicide," she said. The mother claimed the statement was "falsified", adding that Maria wasn't trying to take her own life and saying she was not intoxicated. Medical tests also showed she had no alcohol in her blood, said her mother.

Katie Price shows off new lips and enhanced bum following latest BBL procedure
Katie Price has taken to social media to show off her freshly plumped lips and new bum after getting getting the procedures done during her lunch hour Katie Price is showing off her figure once again after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) during her lunch break. The 47 year oldOnlyFans star had the procedure - which involves injecting filler into the buttocks to enhance the shape and making it rounder - alongside getting lip filler. Revealing her plumper pout at The Clinic Club, Katie told fans she was squeezing in the cosmetic work before taking her son Harvey to his new home, saying: "So my lips are done. I haven't gone too big and now I'm gonna do my bum. Literally, got the train up, having my lips done, having filler in two areas of my bum, then taking Harvey to his new place." The mum of five went on to say that having the procedure done in Turkey would be "more dangerous," the Mirror reports. She stated: "I'd be put to sleep, it would be more dangerous and they use your own fat. This is just filler. Come up here for an hour and half and it's done, amazing..." Showing off her pout, Katie added: "See, you can tell I haven't had much today. Gone a bit more classy," before winking at the camera and saying: "I just need to get my lashes done now..." Later on her Instagram Stories, the glamour icon showed off her newly enhanced bum, with two carefully placed plasters visible beneath her pink lace thong. She shared: "So I've just done my BBL in under an hour. So quick, the plasters are on and ready to go. Love it! Woooo! BBL in your lunch hour." It comes as Katie prepares for a new chapter with her eldest child, Harvey, who she recently told fans is "coming home for good" after facing challenges securing a college placement for the 23-year-old. Harvey, who is blind, autistic and one of just 2,000 people in the UK living with Prader Willi syndrome, is facing a major transition as he leaves his special residential school and prepares to head out into the "real world." Katie has spoken openly about the financial strain of keeping Harvey in residential college, especially amid council funding cuts and her own ongoing financial struggles, including being declared bankrupt for the second time. Now, she has revealed that her "baby bear" is coming home to her before Harvey moves into independent living in October in Littlehampton. Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, which she co-hosts with her sister Sophie, she said: "Harvey is doing the countdown for his new place. He's got his leavers ceremony where they give out certificates and then it's the 'real world' Mr Harvey Price." Katie shared that Harvey will initially move into temporary accommodation before starting his new placement in October. She explained: "I've found him a place in Southampton which is temporary. It's got five other adults in it. Then he moves to his place in October, which is Littlehampton, which will be nearer to me. He's going from college to independent living."

EastEnders icon returns to BBC soap just days after quitting in huge U-turn
EastEnders aired the comeback of a familiar face in worrying scenes on the BBC soap on Monday night, just days after two characters appeared to leave Walford for good An EastEnders legend's return was confirmed on the BBC soap on Monday, just days on from them appearing to exit the show for good. In quite a U-turn amid worrying scenes, two characters who appeared to bid farewell to the soap last week made their return in the latest episode. Nigel Bates and his wife Julie had decided to leave just days ago, amid Nigel's dementia battle. Julie had wanted her husband, who had disappeared months earlier, to go back home with her where she could care for him. Nigel decided to leave Walford much to the sadness of his pal Phil Mitchell, who Nigel has lived with since his comeback in December. So when Nigel's condition continued to deteriorate recently, with Phil struggling to care for his friend, the arrival of Julie changed things. Julie had not known where her husband was for a while after he fled without a word. When Julie found out the truth she came to see him and vowed to take him home. Nigel left with Julie in episodes that aired a week ago, with it teased this was an exit for both characters. READ MORE: Emmerdale 'lets slip' crucial detail in Tracy scene that will 'expose John' But after spoilers hinted they would be back, Monday's episode saw legend Nigel make his abrupt and unexpected return to Walford. Julie soon shared the news to those in Albert Square that Nigel had gone missing again. Just days after they planned to move on and start again, Nigel found his way back to Walford while in a confused state. After becoming scared on a tube train, he was found at the station in Walford by Callum Highway and Yolande Trueman who took him back to Phil's home. Julie was relieved to see him again, but it raised questions about Nigel's future and where he should be. Ultimately it was Nigel who decided he wanted to stay in Walford, with Julie staying by his side. This appears to confirm the characters will stay for the time being, while the future of the plot and for the characters has yet to be revealed. It was revealed recently that Julie would be staying on the show and that it would not be a brief visit. Actress Karen Henthorn reprised her role as Julie after decades away recently, and she spilled all on her comeback. She shared: "It's very surreal to be back in Albert Square after 27 years and working with the delightful Paul Bradley again - it's scary how fast the time has gone!" She went on: "Julie has got some awful surprises ahead of her after the initial relief she feels to discover Nigel is still alive. It's been great to film with Paul and Steve (McFadden), who are such lovely actors, as Julie discovers Nigel's dementia diagnosis and why he chose to hide it from her.'
