Amman Summer Festival 2025 concludes activities
Organized free of charge over 8 days by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), the festival saw attendance of a large public audience.
According to a GAM statement, the final evening featured popular folkloric performances, which were inspired by Jordanian heritage and presented by the Zaha Cultural Center band, adding a festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the handicraft and heritage bazaars continued to welcome visitors, as part of a GAM initiative to support domestic products and enhance the participation of Jordanian productive families.
Artists Nida'a Sharara' and Mahmoud Khayat shone on stage, performing a slew of patriotic and traditional songs that added an exciting atmosphere to the evening.
In the children's venue, the play "The Children's Box" was presented, along with interactive games and various recreational activities, as gifts and prizes were distributed.
The festival, which is held annually by the GAM, aims to stimulate tourism, add a tourist destination to Amman, provide a family-friendly atmosphere for citizens and visitors to Jordan. Petra

During the ceremony, which was attended by the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Rawashdeh added, "Here we are lighting the torch of the 39th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, a torch that symbolises light, enlightenment and radiance, spreading joy and happiness, building bridges of dialogue, carrying the message of the Jordanian state, promoting creative activity and introducing Jordanian intellectuals, writers and artists." He added, "In Jerash today, we celebrate the homeland, its heritage and its national values, which have always been values ??of supporting justice, supporting Palestine's right to freedom, statehood and living in dignity and peace. "Just as the session focused on expanding Jordanian participation, it focused on committed art and serious culture that align with Jordan's constants and Arab positions, which devote all efforts to supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian brothers on their land, defending their rights and Jordan's steadfast stand against the aggression on Gaza and the repeated attacks in the West Bank and Holy Jerusalem." He added, "On the Jerash stages, Arab artists and intellectuals have expressed the voice of Palestine through their art, echoed by the masses. The head of the Greater Jerash Municipality Committee, Mohammad Bani Yassin, greeted the attendees on behalf of Jerash and its people. He said.. He said, "The festival constitutes an integral part of our national identity and Jordan's message to the world. Today, the festival bears witness to Jordan's ability to remain a beacon of thought, a crossroads of cultures, a platform for dialogue and a renewed source of hope. The opening ceremony included the operetta "On the Heights of Glory," which celebrates Jordan's history, leadership and people and the spiritual relationship between language, poetry and homeland, within a dramatic, lyrical and visual framework, featuring eloquent patriotic songs written by the poet Haidar Mahmoud. The ancient Roman theater stone was used as a visual display screen, displaying four-dimensional digital scenes featuring historical images, flags, symbolic paintings and animated poetic scenes. The opening ceremony featured national folklore performances and dances. The festival's management also selected artist Omar Abdallat, the "Voice of Jordan," to star in the opening ceremony, honouring his artistic career.

Queen Elizabeth II's fashion to feature in exhibition
Ammon News - The changing fashions of the late Queen Elizabeth are to go on show in a major exhibition next year at Buckingham Palace. There will be about 200 items, including dresses and jewellery, hats and shoes, in what is claimed as the biggest ever display of the late Queen's clothing. The exhibition, featuring items from her childhood through to the decades of her long reign, will coincide with the centenary of her birth. Among the items in Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style will be her wedding dress, made in 1947 by the designer Sir Norman Hartnell. The exhibition opening at the King's Gallery at Buckingham Palace next Spring will chronicle Queen Elizabeth's life through the outfits she wore for public events and when off duty. The "archive" of clothes owned by the late Queen, who died at the age of 96 in 2022, is now in the care of the Royal Collection Trust, which announced the exhibition. One of the earliest surviving pieces from her wardrobe is a silver lamé and tulle bridesmaid dress, that she wore at the age of eight in 1934 at the wedding of her uncle the Duke of Kent. Clothes could also serve as a diplomatic message, such as a green and white gown made for a state banquet in Pakistan in 1961, with the dress incorporating the country's national colours. More relaxed, printed dresses showing the fashion trends of the 1970s will be part of the display, along with design sketches and handwritten correspondence about clothing choices.
