Lionel Messi left red-faced as rare blunder costs Inter Miami a goal... before he makes up for it perfectly
Messi made a back pass that hit Montreal striker Prince Owusu in stride, which he slotted home for the game's opening goal in the second minute.
The Argentine legend put his head down for a few moments before showing why, even after a critical error, he can still show why he is a living legend.
Inter Miami tied the game in the 33rd minute on a Tadeo Allende strike before Messi got in on the scoring himself.
Messi put the Talons up 2-1 in the 40th minute, before finding the back of the net again in the 62nd to cap off the dominant 4-1 win for Inter Miami.
Hardly anyone held that second-minute blunder against Messi after the game went final.
The living Argentine legend made up for it by scoring a brace in Inter Miami's 4-1 win in Canada
Messi just wrapped up Club World Cup duty with Inter Miami, helping the Talons become the only American team to advance out of the group stage.
That will be the last high-profile international tournament he plays in until next summer's World Cup, which will also take place mainly in the United States as Argentina looks to defend its title.
Messi is under contract with Inter Miami through the end of the MLS season, with a move for the living legend still on the table for the 38-year-old.
However, Messi is still moving around the pitch with more ease than most will ever see.
In 14 league matches this season, Messi has 12 goals and six assists for Inter Miami, including his brace on Saturday night.

Olivia Culpo fans think she is pregnant with TWINS as she poses in a bikini with husband Christian McCaffrey
Fans are speculating that Olivia Culpo is expecting twins following a recent cryptic bikini post. The former Miss Universe, 33, shared a carousel of images from her Fourth of July celebrations that showed off her bare bump in a red bikini while cozying up to her NFL player husband Christian McCaffrey, 29. But it was her caption that caught the attention of fans, sparking theories that the couple are expecting more than one bundle of joy. 'Buns in the oven, burgers on the grill ❤️ happy 4th love you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️,' Olivia — who enjoyed a lavish baby shower — wrote on her post. 'Buns? As in plural?' one person questioned, as another wrote, 'I think she's having twins!' 'Omggg i just realized it might be twinssss,' someone else chimed in. 'Buns in the oven, burgers on the grill ❤️ happy 4th love you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️,' she wrote in the caption of her Fourth of July post 'I have been thinking it's twins for the longest time for you guys,' another wrote. 'Having more than one?' someone else inquired. 'Buns as in plural babies? Or did you mean bun's (bun is)?' ''Buns' must be twins … how exciting!' another added. Olivia didn't let her growing baby bump get in the way or her enjoyment as she donned a red bikini and white pants while celebrating the holiday with friends and family. She shared a selection of photos on Instagram, including a sweet one with the NFL San Francisco 49ers star as they cozied up in their backyard just as the sun was setting. Olivia leaned into her shirtless husband, who tenderly placed his hand on her far-along bump. In the second photo, the mom to be relaxed in a lounge chair in the red bikini top with a white linen jacket, a backwards red ball cap and oval lensed sunglasses. She also shared video clips of the men playing volleyball, two young girls cuddling with a goat, and of her cute dog enjoying the festivities. In March, Olivia and Christian announced they were expecting their first child together and that Olivia was already six months pregnant. She shared several stunning black-and-white snaps of herself caressing her bump on social media as she announced to her followers: 'Next chapter, motherhood.' The couple, who have been dating since 2019 and tied the knot last summer in a lavish ceremony in Rhode Island, are yet to announce the gender of the baby. Christian is the star running back for the San Francisco 49ers, while Olivia is an actress, model and former pageant star. She has been open about her desire to start a family with Christian before but has also discussed her battle with Endometriosis. During a 2022 episode of the reality show Culpo Sisters, she said: 'I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can. It could be really hard for me to have babies.' She continued: 'Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways. In March, Olivia and Christian announced they were expecting their first child together and that Olivia was already six months pregnant 'You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes. 'There is so much that I don't know about what's going to happen in the future with that condition, and I worry all the time about my timeline. I feel like I have to have kids ASAP.' The pregnancy is great news for Christian after a torrid NFL season that saw him suffer a number of injury setbacks. Christian, who signed a two-year, $38million contract extension in June 2024, played in just four games last season. And Olivia isn't sitting around during her pregnancy. She's still doing intense gym workouts. In May, she took to her Instagram stories on Thursday to share a look into her fitness routine as an expectant mom. In text added towards the bottom of the picture, the media personality penned to her 5.4 million followers: 'working out here looks different these days @petermollofitness.' Peter Mollo Fitness is a gym that is located in Rhode Island ≠ and offers both classes as well as training. The star also uploaded a short reel as she worked out her legs on a machine as music played in the background. Lastly, Culpo posed for another mirror selfie with pal and photographer Lucio Andreozzi who had accompanied the model to the gym. Olivia announced that she is pregnant March 10 and took to Instagram to give her fans a first look at her baby bump. The media personality posed in black and white photos while wearing a sleeveless, maxi dress that elegantly flowed around her. Culpo also uploaded a sweet video while joined by McCaffrey to give a behind-the-scenes look at a maternity photo shoot that they did outdoors.

‘I loved it' – Boxer Savannah Marshall not giving up on MMA despite having to drop down to beginners class with teens
SAVANNAH MARSHALL is not giving up on her career in MMA - despite having to start from the very bottom in the beginners class. Marshall began boxing aged 12 and admitted boredom started to creep up after over 20 YEARS of rinse and repeat. 6 6 6 6 But last year, the boxing champion signed with the Professional Fighters League to make her debut in MMA. And she did so with victory over Mirela Vargas in June 2024 after training alongside UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. But Marshall had to earn her stripes the hard way - which meant starting up with the other novices. She told SunSport: "I absolutely loved it, it's brilliant. "I was learning something new, I kind of got the spark back for it like competing again. I've boxed for 23 years now, so it's a long, long time. "I felt like an absolute novice for the first time in a long time, having to go to a beginner MMA class with 15 year old kids." After making her MMA debut, Marshall has been out of the ring since July 2023 when she beat Franchon Crews-Dezurn. But now Marshall returns on Friday in New York as part of a historic all-women's card airing on Netflix. 6 Katie Taylor headlines in a trilogy bout against Amanda Serrano - as Marshall meets Shadasia Green in a bout years in the making. Marshall said: "To be honest, me and Shadasia were meant to fight a while ago. "It's been two or three times it's been close, we've been mentioned in the same conversation. "So for it to follow an all female bill and not only that on Netflix, is massive. "The numbers of Netflix pulls in beats Sky, TNT, it blows all those out of the water, so there's no bigger platform. I'm over the moon really." Marshall became undisputed super-middleweight champ when she beat Crews-Dezurn. Due to inactivity, Marshall, 34, only holds the IBF belt from her unified collection with opponent Green, 35, inheriting the WBO version. So Marshall - now signed to Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotion - bids to win back the belt she never actually lost in the ring. She said: "She's got my belt. It's not really hers, is it? She's not really a world champion because she didn't beat the champion. "You can't really call yourself a world champion, you never boxed a champion."
