The opening round of the Formula Drift series gave us this wonderful Bavarian battle
It was the opening round of the 2025 Formula Drift Championship this weekend just gone at Road Atlanta, and in the secondary PROSPEC category the final run came down to Dmitriy Brutskiy in an E46 M3 and Cory Talaska in his older E36.
Yep, it was a proper Bavarian battle, with Talaska coming out on top for his first win since his rookie year in 2021. As you might expect, the pictures were absolutely excellent. So, which would be your preferred old M3 for a proper drift car build: E36 or E46?

Alexander Zverev's girlfriend's Wimbledon no-show explained after he admitted he felt ‘alone' and 'empty' before exit

ALEXANDER ZVEREV'S girlfriend missed his shock first-round Wimbledon exit. And the German bad-boy admitted he might need therapy after he felt "alone" and "empty" during his early exit. 5 Controversial Zverev became the biggest casualty on the men's side so far at Wimbledon when the third seed crashed out 7-6 6-7 6-3 6-7 6-4 to France's Arthur Rinderknech on Centre Court, in a match played over two days. But the No3 seed's partner Sophia Thomalla was not in his box for either day. According to news outlet BILD in his homeland, influencer and television presenter Thomalla was busy filming commercials back home. And Zverev, 28, who has been at the heart of two allegations of domestic abuse - both denied - in recent years, opened up on his mental struggles on and off the court. He said: 'I feel very alone out there at times. I struggle mentally. 'I'm trying to find ways to get out of this hole but keep finding myself back in it. 'Generally speaking, I feel quite alone in life at the moment, which is not very nice.' Unheralded Rinderknech showed no mercy, falling forward to lie face-first on the turf in sheer joy after he unleashed a mid-court backhand pass to secure the biggest victory of his career. And a devastated Zverev admitted: 'Maybe for the first time in my life I'll probably need therapy. 'I've been through a lot of difficulties. I've never felt this empty before. It's not necessarily about tennis. Just lacking joy outside of tennis, as well. 'Even when I'm winning, even when I'm winning like in Stuttgart or Halle, I'd not getting the feeling I used to get, when I was happy, over the moon, motivated to keep going. It's just not there right now for me." Zverev lost his third Grand Slam final at the Australian Open in January. But he has struggled for form since - wasting his chance to become the world No1 during Jannik Sinner's drugs ban, suffering a string of shock defeats to players with far lower rankings before his Wimbledon upset. 5

Dortmund star reveals Jobe Bellingham's heartbroken reaction to finding out he won't face Jude at Club World Cup

JOBE BELLINGHAM was devastated after realising a booking he received had ruled him out of a dream clash against his brother Jude and Real Madrid. With the Club World Cup entering its crucial stages, Jobe's suspension means he is unable to help his new team Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals - and that's not his only disappointment. 3 3 Following a booking in Dortmund's third group game against Ulsan HD, the former Sunderland star picked up another yellow card in the Round of 16 tie with Monterrey for a late tackle on Nelson Deossa. Under Club World Cup rules, two yellow cards in separate games result in a one-match ban. The result is Bellingham is suspended for Dortmund's quarter-final clash with Real Madrid which means he misses out on the chance to play against his older brother. The suspension came as a shock to Jobe. Dortmund boss Niko Kovac revealed: "I think we all saw that he [Jobe Bellingham] was very disappointed. "I think he did not exactly know that the second yellow card is a suspension at half-time. He was a little bit surprised. "OK, he's young. His brother is also young so I'm convinced they will face each other, maybe next season in the Champions League and then the future. The future is for them. "The Club World Cup would be nice but now it isn't. Someone else must play for him but it's also OK." JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS Jude will almost certainly share in his brother's disappointment with the pair having never faced each other competitively. Jobe followed in Jude's footsteps by joining Dortmund earlier this summer in a £30million deal. He was snapped up in time to make his debut at the Club World Cup and has since helped his new side finish top of Group F and then beat Mexican side Monterrey 2-1 in a tightly contested match last night. Two quick goals from Serhou Guirassy put the German club in a comfortable position at half-time. Monterrey's Berterame managed to pull one back soon after the break, but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Dortmund now turn their attention to this Saturday when they face Spanish giants Real Madrid - but without their new summer signing, the clash becomes an even tougher test.

Aidan O'Brien suddenly pulls Royal Ascot winner ‘who can really move' from £500,000 Group 1 amid huge stable shuffle

AIDAN O'BRIEN has mysteriously pulled a Royal Ascot winner 'who can really move' from a £500,000 race. The Ballydoyle boss swung the axe on Hampton Court Stakes hero Trinity College's planned run in the German Derby on Sunday. 1 Trinity College's French Derby fourth automatically got him an entry in the Group 1 won last year by former Nicky Henderson inmate and world's most expensive jumps horse Palladium. He had been installed favourite by bookies on the back of his Ascot heroics. But just 48 hours after putting him in the race O'Brien scrapped Trinity College's entry. It came as word spread O'Brien was set to supplement The Lion In Winter into a blockbuster Prix Jean Prat on Sunday. The former Derby favourite, who is 25-1 for the City Of York stakes having been given an entry over 7f there too, could line up against Juddmonte's Cosmic Year and Godolphin's Dewhurst winner Shadow Of Light. But it is not immediately clear what's next for Trinity College. The three-year-old colt was sent off 5-2 favourite for the Royal Ascot Group 3. And he looked every inch a Group 1 performer as he made all over the 1m2f trip, seeing off runner-up Tornado Alert by a comfortable three-and-a-half lengths. Trinity College isn't lacking for entries coming up. He could run next week in the 1m4f Princess Of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival. He also holds a lofty entry in the King George at the end of the month, although stablemate Jan Brueghel is likely to take spot there in a mouthwatering Coronation Cup rematch vs Calandagan. Trinity College is 66-1 for the mile Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on July 30 while he also has entries in the Juddmonte over a trip that would suit and the Irish Champion Stakes in September. .
